No noticeable option to “favorite” a station. Ads play at the most inconvenient time. When the app is opened, I want to see my favorites, a search bar and “browse” or “near me”. Currently the app seems too complicated when it really only serves a few purposes. ### 2/5 — New update is ROTTEN *2024-02-15* I don’t mind the ads-I understand that’s how free radio works. But this new update is HORRIBLE. The app used to open and, if you had a station “favorited” would immediately begin to play. Might be on air, might be on a commercial, but would go to whatever station you listened to. Which is what listening to the radio is supposed to be about. But now, the app loads and just goes to a paid commercial and a loading screen, even if you have a station favorited. I don’t want to stare at a loading screen, I want to LISTEN TO THE RADIO. I can find a different app that actually PLAYS THE RADIO. ### 3/5 — It's not bad but should be more *2020-04-28, version 3.2.1* This app is better than single station apps that are little more than a tuner. It is, however, pretty much just a tuner with multiple stations. It doesn’t offer Waze or Apple Music integration. There’s no larger view for use while driving. You can’t store your presets across devices. Unlike it's competitors, it’s not a cross-platform portal. There's no Alexa app, no Roku version, nor is there even a web-browser version for your PC. It's an iOS and an Android app, and that’s about it. Townsquare should either make it function like it’s competitors or join one (or all) of them! ### 2/5 — Why landscape mode *2019-11-04* I don’t understand why you force landscape mode on iPad users. Commercials not in sync with shows *2018-03-16* I can barely listen. It never loads properly and the commercials are out of sync with my radio shows. It’s basically unusable. ### 1/5 — CUTS OUT CONSTANTLY! *2018-02-27* Ever since the iOS update to 11.2 the app constantly stops playing to buffer and I have to close out the app and reopen it. It will then repeat the same commercial it froze on just to freeze in the same spot! My internet connection is fine so it’s not a connection issue ### 1/5 — Commercials *2017-12-14* Commercials are repetitive, and louder, much louder than regular programming. If you wear headphones you will likely damage them during commercials. This combined with dropouts in the programming make me give this only 2 stars. Fix both issues and it would be 5 star. Update 12/17. Above problems still exist in addition to connectivity issues. Always buffering broadcast which causes audio interruptions. Possible at radio station source. WROK Rockford, Il. Lowered to one star. ### 2/5 — Always pushing external ads from Ad Council *2017-11-11* The two stars for my rating are for being able to listen to my favorite hockey team’s radio broadcast. However, whenever the game goes to commercials, instead of the commercials from my local radio station, I hear these external ads from the Ad Council that range in subjects from hair care products to adoption. Never can be sure that these will end before the game starts again. ### 2/5 — Cuts in for random commercials not in regular broadcast *2017-10-18* This cuts in with commercials and useless trivia in the middle of the broadcast. Whether I'm on wifi or using my data, I can always expect the app to disconnect several times while I listen. It's incredibly frustrating when listening to music or talk shows and the app cuts out for several seconds at a time. ### 2/5 — Never ending commercials! *2017-03-29, version 3.1.5* Radio station takes a commercial break and the ads never stop. I have to stop and restart it every time to reset it. Very frustrating!! ### 3/5 — Live the app, HATE the apps "this is radio pup" advertisement *2017-03-27, version 3.1.6* Your app is good. However, would you please spread your App's personal advertisement out over the day instead of 20 repeats of the same thing in the mornings over and over, every time you do this I turn the app off and don't come back until the next day. It drive me and my husband NUTS! ### 1/5 — Very unstable *2016-11-13, version 3.1.3* I have been using/hating this app for a long time. I can't get radio reception for my favorite local talk station. Several times per hour, the app crashes. Often right when the host or guest is saying something I am trying to hear. Sometimes I can just make it work by simply turning screen back on. Usually have to do a hard restart. It is just wrong. I work with my hands. I don't have time to babysit the app while just trying to listen. There are soooo many video streaming apps that work fine on my device/network. Why can't you people fix an audio streaming app? What are you spending all that advertising revenue on? Is it crack? I really love the app but this is an issue ### 1/5 — Don't bother. *2016-08-18, version 3.1.1* Cuts away from radio station mid word to play adds then when it's done playing adds it returns to radio station's commercials then will play maybe 10 minutes from radio station then repeats. Your better off listening to Pandora. ### 1/5 — Security Flaw *2016-06-15, version 3.1.1* If you have a pass code set for your phone, leaving this app on will leave the phone unlocked for an indefinite amt of time. The app also cuts off, often. ### 2/5 — Great App *2016-03-31, version 3.1.1* Very shaky app. Randomly stops working without apparent cause. Needs improvement! ### 2/5 — Spotty *2016-03-25, version 3.1.1* I only have this app because it's the only one my favorite station is available on. Lately it does more "buffering" and losing it's connection than ever before. I wish I had an alternative. I am now able to listen to my favorite local radio stations whenever I travel. It's great to be able to get info about the band or artist currently playing on the station. The stations on here are awesome and the quality comes in clear. A company owns these stations and can only provide the stations it owns!
