Then says one token will be deducted and you will have to re load script if you want to make changes. For the money I shouldn’t have to do that. Particularly since it “says” it gives you the option to change voices before you generate audio. ### 3/5 — Wanna give 5 *2026-03-20, version 4.1* I wanna give it a 5 star but there’s def glitches like it’ll freeze on me while taping and I had tokens but I can’t afford a plan and when it expired my tokens disappeared..that’s not right esp since I paid for them when I first got subscription. ### 2/5 — So close but not enough *2026-02-19, version 4.1* This product is incredibly convenient, and I genuinely wanted it to work. Unfortunately, the system that detects when you’ve finished a line, in order to trigger your AI scene partner’s next response, is disruptively inconsistent and often inaccurate. You’re better off manually timing the responses, but that completely strips away the freedom to explore the scene during a live take. I truly hope the product improves, but until then, please take this as a warning: I have yet to use Rafy for an audition without having to stop what felt like one of my best takes, simply because my scene partner stopped responding the moment I finished a line. ### 3/5 — Almost good *2026-01-19, version 4.1* There needs to be an option to edit the script because sometimes you don’t know there is a mistake in it until you do the practice run and if there’s an error in it now you have to do the whole thing over, which takes away your credits. Also, the voices are just too robotic. This is a great idea, but not a great execution. It needs work. But I see the vision. ### 4/5 — Super helpful! *2025-11-03* Rafy has been so helpful not just for self tapes but also to help run lines to memorize. I love that there are different voice options for the reader. And that you can delay the reader’s onset which is nice. I do find that if I speak too quickly during an emotionally heightened scene, it doesn’t always register that I’m done with my section and so it doesn’t come in. Also sometimes when I take a pregnancy pause before finishing my lines, it thinks I’m finished and comes in early with its lines, which can be a bit frustrating. But overall, when you don’t have a human reader, it’s a really great option! And customer support has been super responsive and helpful! ### 3/5 — Not sure about this *2025-10-17, version 3.0* Tried to use test this app, but the first audition I had was too long so I couldn’t actually use the app without paying. The second time I got one, which was shorter. I tried to use the app, but that first one had already somehow used a credit. Then I found out about Rafy and now I do all my auditions with this app! Even though I have several people I can usually call on to read with me, there are times when friends or family just aren’t available — and when you’re on a tight deadline, that can really be stressful. What I love about Rafy is how it helps me stay efficient and submit my auditions on time, which is something I take seriously as a working actor. One of my favorite features is the variety of voice options they’ve added — male, female, young, adult, and mature voices, each with multiple variations. The voices are surprisingly realistic, with natural inflections and emotion, so it doesn’t feel robotic or artificial at all. It actually feels like I’m responding to a real scene partner, which helps me stay in the moment. Highly recommend Rafy to any actor who needs flexibility, consistency, and quality for their self-tapes. ### 5/5 — Best App for Actors *2025-08-01* This app is truly a godsend. I used to have my friends and family (reluctantly) read for my self tapes, but when I found Rafy everything changed. You can choose the voice/gender and age range of your reader, so they fit the actual character you’re in the scene with, it shows the lines on the screen while you record and you can also chose alternate line readings if the reader isn’t getting the mood right. My self-tapes have improved by leaps and bounds and I’ve had the most callbacks and castings than I ever landed before I found this app. I’m a Rafy-head now and will use this app for all of my auditions. Not only that, but the support team is incredibly kind and worked with me to get a discount after I missed the promotion. Shoutout to Jam, and all the fellow thespians at Rafy who understand what it means to put your best self on tape. The volume fix of turning it up and restarting does not work. I hear myself fine even on playback. I can’t get the reader volume loud enough to hear on the same tape. And I can’t barely hear it when I am recording. If I use a microphone on my iPhone, you don’t hear anything at all. Why is there no way to contact support for help! ### 1/5 — Freezing *2025-08-12, version 3.0* App keeps freezing and while filming stops ### 1/5 — Very glitchy and lots of restrictions *2025-07-27* I downloaded this app because I am a working actor and when I can’t get a reader often I need something like this. I use another app and thought Id try this one. I can’t recommend it. It has bad glitches that cut you off mid line. And the AI voice just speaks. There are character limits on the lines that you can up load— what if you have a long scene?!? And the worst thing is, you can’t just re do the take easily with out going through multiple screens. Its promising. But its not ready. And who knows if they will fix ALL the things wrong with it? Id pass. ### 1/5 — Has potential but unusable *2025-07-19, version 3.0* The app has potential, but the AI reader has a feature that you can customize it inflections with your own voice. As soon as you do that the volume on the whole app becomes very low and almost inaudible. I use my phone as a teleprompter and a reader and record on a separate camera so this bug in the app makes it unusual for me. Unfortunate! ### 1/5 — Not great… *2025-05-05* Skips lines, doesn’t hear lines, even when you yell them. Major delays of opposing line deliveries. Terrible. I wish this worked. **Developer response:** Hi! Sorry to hear that was your experience. That kind of issue is usually related to speech recognition permissions or another setting that might be blocking microphone access. Rafy should respond quickly when those are set up correctly. I often see apps like this and they turn out to be “too good to be true.” But wow did Rafy ever deliver! Today I had the craziest turnaround for a self-tape and without Rafy I’d have definitely been screwed, so thank you!! ### 5/5 — My new (and tireless) scene partner *2026-07-24* We (actors group) use this for self tapes and we share rehearsals for feedback. Plus there’s a feature to share with agent easily before you submit to casting. It streamlined my process for getting off book AND it contains a setting for recall (1st letter of words that I’ve used since heard Robert Downey Jr say he memorizes that way. So easy to screenshot script pages and converts to text and audio as a reader plus has a teleprompter with options to set pace, reader voices and share your self tapes with custom link. Also? I was able to get personal 1 on 1 help from Rafy staff live with questions on how to use and tips on other features.
