So I downloaded the game then to continue had to download 2 gigs. Then gave me another 1.5 gig delete files warning can’t continue until I do.. so I go delete other files to make space.. come back then it asks if I want to play or play while downloading in the background. I’ve tried both but once I get past choosing my character or creating a character I get stuck forever at the very first loading screen.. the one that says level 1-10 if I create a new character or the one with their artwork if I choose to play my main character from the past. Either way I can sit here for over 30 minutes and just watch it spell out loading over and over which means at least it’s not freezing the client but either way it’s not getting anywhere.. sorry for such a low rating but if I can finally play again or hear from developers or something I will definitely increase it. ### 2/5 — Was good but now too complicated *2026-07-06, version 1.7.13* I played this since launch in 2019. It was hard to keep up and they just keep adding more and more systems without retiring older ones. Everything stayed relevant, which is a bad thing. Too much to keep up with so I stopped playing. Long time Ragnarok RO player. *2026-01-05, version 1.7.9* I played Ragnarok RO since the early 2000’s and this mobile game is very similar to the experience there, with some minor details missing; like the merchant. The game is okay, but there’s a ton of self-play element and often feels the user isn’t even playing the game. It’s not super-saturated in micro transactions, but as any mobile game they’re overpriced and not worth getting. I did pay for premium however and noticed once you unlock a few things on your main character that are premium from the monthly, or even paid for on the store for a few USD, you cannot share them to your alternative characters, or re-buy those cheap one-offs on their store for the secondary character. I find this odd that a company would block their own ability to monetize a system. Doesn’t seem very well thought-out. My only other erk is that why does the archer shooting a Yoyo sound like someone slapping a child? I wanted to kindly suggest expanding the range of skin tones available in the character customization options. Representation means a lot to many players， and having a wider variety of skin colors would allow more people to feel truly seen and included in the game world of Rune-Midgard that you've built. For nostalgia, the graphics have been updated, many new classes and systems have been added. There are of course minor glitches that will be fixed over time. The limited time limit and the meager drop percentage - well, you can fix it with a donation. But not here. If I'm already paying hundreds of dollars, I would like to get what I paid for, but no, the drop percentage here is also meager. Therefore, before downloading, buy a lot of rabbit feet, you will need them ### 1/5 — Trash Support Team *2025-03-11, version 1.7.5* I told the support team that I couldn’t permanently access my old email that was bound to my account that I spent thousands of dollars on. At that time, you couldn’t bind your account to more third-party apps, only one. They don’t care to fix bugs. They don’t care to fix anything that players have brought up is an issue. Gear upgrading is a nightmare 💁 ### 3/5 — Cute, fun but woah to the racism *2025-01-16, version 1.7.4* I’ve had a good time playing it, I joined hoping to bolster my skills and comprehension of mmo systems but it’s generally been a fun experience on its own. Admittedly the localization is awful, like really awful, and it’s pretty simplistic/corny regardless but you can tell there’s a lot of love from a handful of the devs thrown into this. The custom npc animations especially charmed me and all of the animations and art everywhere was really cute to see. Less p2w and heavy paywall on cosmetics than I expected. But I also found pretty quickly the racism in this one is not tame (first ragnarok game so I’ve no idea if that’s a trend in these. I guess you kinda expect to see some in most older-smaller mmos, especially when the character creator doesn’t offer different skin tones but holy cow lol, I was not expecting a clown Afro black midget with donut lips and a caveman club caricature. If not for that lump of things, me and my wallet would be able to give you a more invested review but that took me out entirely. Cute otherwise though, extra points deducted for lack of gay marriage also, should’ve stuck to the bit for the amount of gay jokes it has. ### 4/5 — Suggestion for Hero class *2024-12-29, version 1.7.4* Assassin hero class: Ripper Core passive skill: Master of arms 1/7 = Ripper as a weapons expert has two sets of skills by equipping either “shuriken stars” which benefits from ranged damage bonus and skill damage versus “kusarigama” (chain sickle) for mid range which benefits from melee damage and auto attack damage. When using shurikens, ripper’s LEFT skill tree branch becomes active and when using kusarigama, ripper’s RIGHT skill tree branch becomes active. 4/7: Gains flat rate of 40% skill crit chance when using either of ripper’s weapons. Doing crit damage grants ignore def and anti flee 7/7: Allows ripper to equip both shuriken stars and kusarigama by occupying offhand slot. This activates both skill tree and allowing ripper to use all skills at the same time and gaining both ranged, melee, aa, skill dmg, and flat 80% skill crit chance. This includes enchants from arch & melee. Please let me know what you think. No real updates, developers don’t care about player feedback, and let’s be honest — Ragnarok has always been a full-on gacha. They push you to spend tons of money just to stay competitive. Every year there’s a “new” Ragnarok, but it’s always the same team behind it. The president of Gravity is useless — they’ve ruined the PC game over the years and are now destroying the mobile versions with the same greedy mindset. Their system will deduct double amout of big cat coin in game. In other words. U are forced to pay double for something you don't want. I was surprised by the improved graphics and how well-optimized the gameplay is now. The first few minutes, going from quest to quest, are smooth. However, once you reach the second job, the challenge increases, and progress slows down, giving it that classic Ragnarok feel. Give it a try and embrace the nostalgia - don’t let the negative reviews deter you.
