The community is great and if you find a good guild you’ll be taken care of and find some great fun people to make friends. People are helpful and competitive which makes events fun. HOWEVER, in order for you to get up in the ranks just by a little bit and be fully self sufficient without help (EVEN IF YOURE MAXED OUT IN LEVEL May I add) you will need to drop a considerable amount of money. The game is 90% gacha/luck oriented and the drops are EXTREMELY excruciatingly low. Meaning even if you drop $100 for the “most expensive” game currency and you use all of it on trying to get a considerably better equip/costume you will most likely not even get ONE of the ID the 4-5 pieces of the set. NOT EVEN ONE. same goes for refinement I have been a player of 2 years and I have only just received my first +15 out of 8 gears you can equip. While the people who spend over $100k get all the +20. This is understandable I mean if they spend that much they definitely should be, but really that much? How is that fun? The average person can’t even afford 2.5k on rent so why play a game like that? Thank You. ### 2/5 — Game is officially dead. *2022-11-23, version 1.0.8* I stopped playing this game in February while the game was still thriving, I've just returned in November to an empty game. While playing, I've only seen a few actual players compared to the hundreds that used to be online at all times. This pretty much eliminates the possibility of taking down MVP's and pretty much all aspects of the game that require you to join a party or play with other people. From what I understand, Gravity has released other Ragnarok games and it looks like they've cannibalized their entire player base for Origin. I don't understand why they would pump so much money and effort into this game, just to undercut their own efforts. It's really sad to see this happen because it seemed to me that they finally released a proper successor to Ragnarok Online. In its current state I can't recommend this game to anyone anymore because of the sheer amount of things you're unable to do because of the lack of other players. It leaves you off at level 9 or something like that and leveling up is really hard. The events page is filled with payed packages as well. I like the combat, the graphics are nice, story seem ok, but there is one, major issue. Very early in the game you’ll need to go to an area that has some level 3 monsters and some level 90 monsters that are aggressive. You’ll die instantly upon getting sent to that zone. Everything you try to do there leads to getting killed in 1 shot, but that’s where my current, low level quest has me going. It got to be too frustrating, so I quit playing. I also found it odd to interact with NPCs. You have to tap on them, rather than getting an action icon. I play on iPad, so tapping on something in the middle of the screen when my hands are at the sides is a bit awkward. I also found the camera very, very, very sluggish when trying to move it out from behind the many, many trees that will block your view, and I didn’t feel like I could quite zoom out as far as I wanted, nor tilt the camera, leaving me feeling like I could never see where I was going. But me honestly I think at the beginning you should have some more hairstyle choices when you first start the game, and also half of the outfits I try to obtain it says not obtainable!!!! And that is a problem because you can want a cute outfit and it’s not obtainable!!! This game is not healthy at all, everything is very expensive. I know bunch of players who have spent more than 100k USD in this game including me and still being milked hard but devs absolutely don’t care any of us still. We chose to stay because of the community and fun friends we made, but then now this game is full of bugs. I’m not even talking about small bugs. I am talking about major bugs such as targeting issue - you cannot target players during fight or stuck on one target even though the target is dead. Glitch issue like player won’t respawn after dead in instance and items won’t be able to move properly. Purple pixie issue such as purple pixie everywhere on map when it’s lots of players or lots of graphics on screen and you can’t see anything. Cross server event is even a mess now because the tournaments have been broken for weeks and months, devs tried to fix it and it’s still broken, and they just tell people they are gonna cancel the event, so players get no events after all. RAGNAROK is a great IP and it’s holding lots of players memory like me, but the operation and communication from this app’s developer team is an absolute nightmare. If you want to have fun and be competitive in pvp, expect to drop lots of money such as a down payment of a house or at least a full price of a decent car. Also GMs are terrible in retaining paying customers. I’ve experienced many versions of Ragnarok game and this one could be a better one if they do care about players. Roo NA is surely a pay to win game like many other online games on phone. But this one is unique for totally no efforts to hold a basic low-cost player ground. The drop rate for the cards, refine success rate, accessories drop from mvp all set at low rate. And they kept on adding features which u need to pay to catch up. While low cost players are having trouble achieving first or second +15 gear, whales are hitting +20 for a set. Many players left after facing the gap between whales and others, knowing your game experience is limit to the level. Roo NA management team also doesn’t treat players who pays good cash fairly too. The top level cross server Champion tournament is like a bad joke with players can’t respawn or frozen. Top level MVP the only resource to receive the current highest level accessories are dropping wrong items making entire physical classes can’t get their accessories even you had a drop with rare rate. And the gm giving different solutions according to their mood for such bugs. Not to mention the current so called Roo 2.0 launched in haste. You can’t really get the majority of the outfits unless you pay way too much money for the majority of people to afford. I moved over from Ragnarok Eternal Love and find Ragnarok Origins a WAY better game! The storylines is in native English and not some terrible Google translated version from a Korean server as they are in Ragnarok Eternal Love. The graphics are great and some storylines even have voiceover. My game hasn’t crashed at all as some other reviews have claimed. It seems like the developers listen and do a great job making the game stable, playable, and enjoyable. If I had to make a recommendation I’d say to make the party match function better or allow party content to be played solo. Oftentimes it’s impossible to find a party for lower level instances. Also, the pay aspect is a huge barrier to entry into later game content. I get that the game has to make money but perhaps there is a more effective way to do that that won’t jeopardize gameplay.
