### 1/5 — SCAMMM!!!

*2026-05-23*

Rail Ninja is honestly one of the biggest travel scams I’ve experienced.

When searching for KTX train tickets in Korea, their website appears as a sponsored top result and looks like the official booking platform. If you’re booking quickly as a tourist, it’s very easy to think it’s the proper website.

I was travelling from Seoul to Busan with 3 travellers and booked 3 return tickets through Rail Ninja. In total, we paid over AUD $600. We received confirmation emails, and the tickets appeared in their app, so naturally, we assumed everything was legitimate and properly booked.

But on the actual day of travel, we arrived at the station and discovered we had no seat allocations. The KORAIL staff told us they had barely seen this app before and that we technically could not travel without properly assigned seats. After literally begging the staff to help us, they finally allowed us to board.

What made it even worse was discovering later that the exact same tickets on the official KORAIL website would have cost around AUD $300 total. Even the actual itinerary and boarding pass we eventually received after urgently contacting Rail Ninja through their app clearly displayed the much lower official KORAIL ticket price — around AUD $300 total for all 3 travellers. Seeing that lower amount printed directly on the ticket made it obvious that Rail Ninja had charged us more than double the real fare simply to act as a middleman for the booking.

These are absolutely misleading business practices targeting tourists unfamiliar with the Korean rail system. Avoid Rail Ninja and book directly through KORAIL instead.

### 1/5 — Cannot find tickets, only boarding pass

*2026-05-23*

Zero stars, tried App Store

### 3/5 — Predatory practices - steer clear!!!

*2026-05-21*

Booked a private overnight sleeper cabin only to be told my place was unavailable after payment and offered a economy seat as compensation without refund

### 1/5 — High fees, no tickets

*2026-05-15, version 3.0.4*

Fees are high-double the actual train ticket and they only search for your ticket after you select and purchase. Will not use again.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-05-13, version 3.0.4*

Full body scam. From Budapest to Prag orginal fare 75 Euro but Rail Ninja take 146usd. No Seat selection also. Totally scam.

### 1/5 — Посредники

*2026-05-06, version 3.0.4*

### 1/5 — Don’t use: book direct with train provider

*2026-05-01, version 3.0.4*

You pay much more thru rail
Ninja than booking directly with the train company and rain ninja switched out my train reservation without my consent.

### 3/5 — Works great but overly expensive

*2026-05-01, version 3.0.4*

Was easy to buy tickets and everything was incredibly smooth. The ticket counter price was about $8 USD while we paid $35 USD. I don’t mind paying for the smooth process but almost 5x the actual cost is just gouging people. I will only use in the future as a last resort

### 1/5 — Price Gouging

*2026-04-30, version 3.0.4*

Went to book a ticket and cash in my Ninja cash. The price for the tickets seemed high so I checked with the carrier direct and saved 150 Euro for a 1 hour train ride. Can’t imagine how much they ripped me off for the other trips I booked with the App

### 1/5 — Scam company

*2026-04-28, version 3.0.3*

Bought tickets through them, train station did not honor them. Forced to buy another ticket, and support did absolutely nothing to help. Never again.

### 1/5 — Overpriced

*2026-04-21, version 3.0.2*

Overpriced third-party service. Prices were significantly higher than official train fares and refund was refused despite immediate request. Would not recommend.

### 1/5 — !!!Avoid this app!!!

*2026-04-20, version 3.0.2*

This app is a complete rip-off. I booked a train thinking I was paying around $30, but ended up paying $212. Later I found out the actual ticket price was only about $100.

That’s a 60%+ markup for no added value.

They are not the real provider, just a middle layer adding huge hidden fees. No transparency, no warning — just inflated prices.

Do yourself a favor: book directly with the train company.
This app is not worth it.

### 1/5 — Huge markup

*2026-04-19, version 3.0.2*

This service has a huge markup - the same ticket can be bought for half the price directly from the providers website

### 1/5 — They steal money

*2026-04-18, version 3.0.2*

This terrible company pays google to put them 1st show on the search results & charge you additional 100% service fee. They are thief, robber, scammer.

### 1/5 — Scam, don’t use

*2026-04-06, version 3.0.0*

I booked a ticket from Moutiers to Paris, paid, and they kept the status as pending until I followed up with 1 hour left for the train, then they told me they never had the tickets and cancelled my tickets. It’s a scam, don’t use it. They will take your money and not give you anything in return!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Very Disappointing — Hidden Fees

*2026-08-26*

I would not recommend this app for booking KTX tickets.

I booked a KTX ticket from Seoul to Busan, and the ticket itself showed a fare of around KRW 120,000, but I was charged approximately KRW 213,000. That is almost KRW 93,000 more than the ticket fare.

I understand that third-party booking platforms may charge service fees, but such a huge price difference should be made clearly and transparently before payment. The additional charges were not obvious enough when I made the booking.

If you are booking KTX tickets in Korea, I strongly recommend checking the official Korail price first and comparing it carefully before paying through this app.

Very disappointing experience. The pricing and additional fees should be much more transparent.

### 1/5 — What a scam - avoid

*2026-08-06*

Booked a trip from Dublin to Belfast, the return leg couldn't be ticketed so Rail Ninja cancelled, with no obvious options for updated return times. The ai chatbot is useless in terms of offering a solution, and kept insisting I had return tickets, which were not booked. On top of this they charge 2.5x the cost of booking directly. This "service" may be convenient for some but awful interface, poor booking experience and useless AI support would suggest dealing with two different apps or railway booking sites is a far better option for most.

### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE

*2026-07-29, version 3.0.6*

This website merely buys tix with a huge mark up. Worse, they do not inform you of changes!! We are currently in Berlin, they neglected to tell us that we have to take a bus to Frankfurt departing 2 hours earlier than scheduled due to construction. And the bus is located in a remote (ie away from Hbf) location. We just happened to discover this pre-scouting route etc to Hbf, from helpful train employees. Dangerous and expensive? Buy direct! I am not even confidant we have firm tickets…..

### 1/5 — the upcharge 70%, buy direct from website

*2026-07-17, version 3.0.6*

scam

### 1/5 — Only for solo travelers

*2026-07-10*

Found out the hard way that they don’t get you tickets seated together when you buy more than one seat. And after they send you the tickets and you find out, they will not cancel or refund the tickets. Their support will not help you and all they say is “we try to get seats together” … this service is horrible unless you are a solo traveler. Not to mention if you see the difference between what they charge you and the actual price of the tickets. It’s a big markup for a subpar service.

### 1/5 — Just buy ticket from Rail Service instead

*2026-07-05, version 3.0.6*

Very limited experience using them, but they have their own policies regarding cancellation/modification different from that of the rail lines they get the tickets from. Was a mistake using them instead of just buying from the rail line

### 1/5 — SCAM: Avoid Rail Ninja at all costs!!!

*2026-06-26, version 3.0.6*

I mistakenly booked my train tickets through Rail Ninja because I believed they were an official reseller for Spanish train tickets. That was an expensive mistake. After receiving my tickets, I discovered that Rail Ninja had simply purchased the tickets from Spain’s national railway operator, Renfe, and forwarded them to me by email.

The official price printed on each ticket was €51.50, yet Rail Ninja charged me €95 per ticket—nearly double the actual price. The difference was labeled as a “processing fee,” despite the fact that they provided no meaningful additional service beyond emailing me the tickets.

When I contacted customer support and asked to cancel the transaction after realizing the excessive markup, they refused to help or offer any refund.

My experience left me feeling completely misled. In my opinion, Rail Ninja’s website makes it easy to assume you are booking through an official or authorized ticket provider, when in reality you are paying an enormous premium for a service you can get directly from Renfe for much less.

I would never use Rail Ninja again, and I strongly recommend that others avoid this company. Always compare prices with the official railway website before booking. Otherwise, you may end up paying almost twice the real ticket price for nothing more than an emailed ticket.

### 1/5 — Just go to the train station yourself

*2026-05-27, version 3.0.5*

The extra cost this company charges does not provide any value. I missed a connecting flight and thus missed my train. It was inside a 12-hour window so Rail Ninja said there was nothing they could do. Told me to go handle it at the station. I did and ticket was cheaper than the rail ninja who did absolutely nothing for this money.

### 1/5 — Overpriced. Do not use!!!

*2026-05-24, version 3.0.5*

Train tickets in this app are overpriced by 100%. Do not fall for it. Use Omio.
