God country

### 5/5 — Accurate App !!

*2025-02-06*

Rain Tally is a great App, pretty accurate on your location’s totals & upcoming forecast. It’s straight forward, easy to use, well laid out and provides good information 📅🌧️📊👍

### 5/5 — How much rain has my lawn had ? YES !

*2024-11-14, version 1.13.0*

Fantastic to be able to look back over the last number of days rainfall and see how much rain actually fell to see if I need to water my garden or not . Love this

### 5/5 — Surprisingly fast data updates

*2024-09-24, version 1.12.3*

I am only using the free version but I am seriously considering upgrading to the + version because this app is so cool. I was surprised how quickly the rain amounts update….its almost real time, don’t have to wait like 24 hours later to see how much it rained. AND I can choose a specific area to monitor, not just my current location. We are in the middle of a severe drought and I have an Airbnb that’s about 20 miles away in a different county. This property has multiple streams in the back yard but when we are in a drought they do not flow well or flow at all. So I like to be able to monitor the rain that falls there since it can vary so drastically from where I actually live. This app is very simple to understand and has, not only values of rain that actually fell, but also predicted rain amounts for the next 2 days. I definitely recommend this app…. I tried another one that was supposed to do the same thing but it was so annoying because you had the keep typing in an address every time you opened it and the rain totals didn’t seem to update quickly like this app does. Highly recommend this app and the upgraded version is only $19.99 a year. That seems very reasonable considering the amount of data it will display.

### 5/5 — Accurate and easy to use.

*2024-08-31*

Rain Tally has quickly become my first choice of weather apps.

### 5/5 — Useful Rain App!

*2024-08-15*

As a gardener I need to be aware of how much water my plants are getting. I have several weather apps but none of them gives me reliable info on how much rain fell. This app allows me to set how much rain I need per week (I base it on how hot the weather will be) and then the actual measurements so I can determine how much watering I need to do. I love that it shows me daily amounts and totals for seven day periods. Plus it projects how much rain we’ll get over the next many days. This has become my “go to” app.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2024-08-05, version 1.10.3*

Rainfall tracking is critical for my collections of rare and hard to find trees and plants. This app is a joy!

### 5/5 — My most used app

*2024-08-03*

This app is just what I needed but never knew existed. As a gardener and an angler I use this information to plan my watering schedule as well as planning my weekend float trips.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-07-28, version 1.10.3*

Excellent app for estimating rainfall at a location. No paywall all for free.

### 5/5 — Basic and simple

*2024-07-25, version 1.10.2*

The app does exactly what it is supposed to do. It helps me determine when to run my sprinklers or not.

### 5/5 — Accurate and easy to use.

*2024-07-18*

Rain Tally has quickly become my first choice of weather apps.

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2024-07-06*

This is a great app. One of the problems with having a backyard garden is knowing when and how much to water and the app helps with that. The interface is attractive and intuitive. Tiles are well organized and provide a lot of information that I can take in at a glance. This app is definitely a keeper!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not a good or accurate app

*2026-05-23, version 1.15.4*

Paid for this app a bit ago. Got our first real rain today in almost a year… 1.06”! This app said .60” which is no where near amount received. Tried to cancel app and it won’t cancel for a year! NOT ACCURATE AT ALL!!!!

### 1/5 — Not accurate

*2025-07-19, version 1.15.2*

Not worth the money!

### 1/5 — Not even close

*2025-06-20, version 1.15.0*

The data from this app is not even close. We had well over an inch of rain at one of my locations and this app only registered 0.1 inches. Has proved to be consistently wrong.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2024-07-29, version 1.10.3*

Highly inaccurate. If you live inside a town or city that reports its rain totals then it will work for you but for rural areas it reads the same as the closest town with a rain report

### 2/5 — Inaccurate

*2026-05-25, version 1.15.4*

I’m not sure how it does so, but this app vastly under reports the amount of rain that I receive. All other sources say that we recently got over 2 inches of rain yet this app is claiming I only got .4 inches. Accuracy is the only job this app has, and it doesn’t do it.

### 2/5 — new review of rain app

*2024-11-23, version 1.14.0*

The app seems ok but there is no place to. report snowfall that I can find. zIt seems to be rain only.

### 3/5 — Rain Canton , Ga

*2025-06-11, version 1.15.0*

Weekly

### 3/5 — Poorly labeled charts

*2024-06-30*

This is a good app but the charts are so poorly labeled that the information’s usefulness is diluted. Two examples from one chart: Annual Cumulative Precipitation
1. According to the chart, we have received 22.9” through July 2. That seems accurate - except that today is June 30.
2. The chart has four trend lines. One is bold; the other three are fine-lined. I assume the bold line is this year (2024) and the other three are the past three years. But none is labeled so you can’t tell which year is which.

The initial graphic on the “Recent” screen is confusing - probably accurate but it’s imprecise. Is there a 57% chance of rain tomorrow and an 82% chance the next day? If so, how much? The vertical axis has no labels.

Good app but (significantly) underdeveloped. I hope they complete it.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. I can try to clarify a few points.

You note that you "received 22.9” through July 2 but that today is June 30." The Trends chart is currently showing the amount through the end of the available forecast, and you should have forecast data through the end of July 2 on June 30. These are the same numbers you see on the Recents screen in the forecast section. I can see that including the forecast in the Trends screen could be confusing and will remove the forecast data from this screen.

You note that the chart has four trend lines where one is bold and the other are fine lines, but that they are unlabeled. The label is pinned to the bottom of the Trends screen, which is showing that bold blue represents the highlighted year ("2024 highlighted"), next to a control that lets you highlight a different year. This control and label applies to everything on the Trends screen, and so is not shown next to the individual charts. I will add a one-time popup to explain that control.

Finally, on the initial graphic of the recent screen, if you tap the chart it will show you the individual amounts for each day. These values for chance of rain and amount for each date are also shown in the table below for each date. The chart at the top is intended to be compact, glanceable version of the more details table below. There are trade offs to make information clear on a small screen, and the lack of axis labels on this chart is a design choice, and the chart is tappable to display that context when desired.

I would be happy to hear more of your thoughts on feature development, so please feel free to email me using the "Email the Developer" button in the Settings screen if you have more thoughts.

### 4/5 — Great!

*2024-07-30, version 1.10.3*

Great!

### 4/5 — Hoping for more

*2024-05-19, version 1.9.0*

I am new to the app and not comfortable with it yet. I find it accurate and think in time it will be my favorite.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Handy tool for my business

*2026-08-15*

I really like the app, it’s easy to use and price is good. I use this in conjunction with RiverApp to see rainfall and flow up river so I know what’s coming over the next few days as I run a river rental business. One thing that would be very helpful is ground saturation, that helps to predict water run-off vs just being absorbed and not affecting the river much.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-07-18*

The stats are easy to understand and allow you to input your local area data. The Weather Service has no stations in our area, therefore it is not always the most accurate, so I purchased a simple rain gauge to update our totals.

### 5/5 — Michael ❤️‍🩹👑💙

*2026-05-22, version 1.15.4*

I’ve been using Rain Tally for years. It’s perfect for those who still want a green lawn, but to maximize natural water and supplement with irrigation.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-10-20, version 1.15.3*

Just what I was looking for. If you’re trying to recall on what date something happened, but all you can recall about it is that it was throwing it down with rain, Rain Tally will help you pin it down. There’s a thousand and one other helpful uses for the App, but that one saved my bacon. Thanks Rain Tally - I’m hooked.

### 5/5 — Rain app I’ve been waiting for

*2025-08-31*

Great app to track rain totals. Love the option to override nws data with rain guard data when necessary

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-07-05*

Nice app we have our house and farm we go to on the weekends. It’s nice to plan what I need to do pending last weeks rain and the upcoming week’s forecast 😀

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-05-27*

App works great, I can see my rain fall totals for my location which is surprisingly hard to find. Highly recommend this app!

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2025-05-23*

A great app. Been looking for something like this for a long time. So far, it seems to be quite accurate also.

### 5/5 — Very dependable

*2025-05-15, version 1.14.3*

I can count on this app to let me know if I need to water my garden or wait and let the rain do it!

### 5/5 — Best Rain Gauge App

*2025-02-12*

As a weather nerd with a number of weather apps, it’s been frustrating trying to figure out rain totals—some weather apps have some info but nothing like Rain Tally. When rain is in the forecast, this is my go to app—love it.
