### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2011-04-18, version 1.3.0*

Perfect tool to motivate my 9 yr old to learn her notes!

### 5/5 — Beautiful game

*2011-03-26, version 1.3.0*

My 4 and 7 yr olds both love it.

### 5/5 — Wow!

*2010-12-03, version 0*

I wrote a negative review a while back. The very next day, this company responded to my undignified, ungracious slam, with dignity and grace. Not only did they read my complaint, more importantly, they listened and followed up with action. The free update fixed each of the issues i addressed and at least one complaint I had was unfounded, there was a button that I thought was missing. Even so, the new update made it more visible. This app is clean, smooth and really the most effective of all 8or9 music apps on my iPhone. These people went above the call of duty. I have truly learned a lesson of value by their example. If I could rate this app with more stars, I'd give it ten. Thank you so much. You deserve an award for excellence, both for your app and for your efficient and tactful customer service. Ten Cheers, Ten Stars and Ten Thumbs Up for you!

### 5/5 — Cute little game

*2010-12-03, version 1.2.0*

Cute design, and fun for my little one! Useful to keep him busy when I need a break. Highly recommend, love it!

### 5/5 — Thanks for your feedbacks

*2010-11-23, version 0*

Wuxxabuxx,

Thanks for using Rainbow Music Notes, and thank you for the detailed comments. We are sorry to hear about your frustration, and have submitted a new upgrade (v1.2) to address the issues you have encountered:

A. There is already an "Info" button on the lower left corner, but we replaced it with a more visible "Info" icon in the new version (pending approval). From there you can easily send us feedbacks, or rate the application on Apple Store, etc.;
B. Again the "About" (i.e., "Info") function is there, just not very visible. Sorry to keep you restarting the application many times just to catch the site name;
C. We have muted the success sound. It is a little too loud and too long for each hit, esp. for someone who are always 100% accurate (like you are);
D. And this is where you deserve a special big thanks from 7 Thoughts Design: it was a slip of finger and surely it has been fixed in the new version.

In addition, we have shrunk the download size significantly too so our users can download/upgrade 40% faster. Again, we love to hear from our users, and appreciate how hard you have tried to contact us. If you see any issues in the new release (probably early December), please do not hesitate to let us know!

Thanks,
7 Thoughts Design, LLC

### 5/5 — Great learning app for both kids and adult

*2010-11-15*

Beautful interface and nicely designed(love the lady bug). Kids like it a lot and they enjoy play and learn the music notes. I have wonderful experience with this app and will totally recommend it!

### 5/5 — Great app for anyone who enjoys music!

*2010-11-15, version 0*

Fun and educational. An entertaining piano game for kids and adult who likes to learn how to play piano!

### 5/5 — Fun app!

*2010-11-13, version 0*

Makes learning fun!

### 5/5 — One of the best apps!!!

*2010-11-13, version 0*

This app is very educational (even for an old Kid like me) and indeed very beautifully designed. If I could, I would give it a 4 thumbs up!!!

### 5/5 — Fun to play and great to learn

*2010-11-12, version 0*

For 99 cent, this is surely a great game and educational tool for kids. Highly recommended!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Rainbow Music Notes

*2014-11-28, version 1.7*

No sound and no changes to the settings are successful in making sounds work. I've deleted and re downloaded the app three times, but no luck.

### 2/5 — Expected more

*2012-07-01, version 1.5*

Nice colorful interface, but expected more for a paid app. Only one octave of the piano shows, so middle c is played at the same place on the keyboard as the c that is an octave up. The games are not exciting for my 7 year old and she lost interest quickly.

### 3/5 — Face book sign should be optional and must be mentioned prior to buying .other wise good app

*2013-09-06, version 1.6*

Face book sign in should be optional and should be mentioned prior to buying app

### 3/5 — Needs tweaking ...

*2012-05-22, version 1.5*

I like the user interface and the graphic design is very pretty. But the treble clef notes do not sound in the correct octave ... They sound down in the bass range! If you make the notes play at the correct pitch, I will raise my rating.

### 3/5 — Good for kids learning their notes but...

*2011-11-24, version 1.3.0*

NECESSARY FIXES:

1) There should be an option to COMPLETELY turn off the hints when WE think they should be turned off.

2) PLEASE shift the F clef up so the dots show above and below the F line in the bass clef.

Fix these things and I'll come back and give it five stars. I swear.

### 3/5 — Visually appealing, but very basic

*2010-12-12, version 1.2.0*

I can't figure out how anything in this game associates color with learning the notes. This is a simple note-reading exercise/quiz for children (or anyone) who have been introduced to reading music, not particularly helpful at learning notes for a beginner. The graphics are nice and this game has potential, but it would be much better with an easier level for younger children/beginners as well as a more advanced level (beyond the natural notes... Add sharps/flats and the black keys).

### 4/5 — An essential practice tool - better than flash cards!

*2013-04-04, version 1.5*

This is a great app for students to practice note-reading! The games are fun, and especially appealing for younger students through the beautiful colours, and fun animation - a ladybug flying and landing on the lines and spaces of the staff makes naming the notes a fun game!

As a music teacher, I particularly appreciate the way the app produces the pitch of the note that is displayed, allowing students to make the connection between the note on the page and the sound produced. Additionally, the app associates coloured notes on the staff with coloured notes on the piano, which not only creates a connection to help students remember where the notes are, but also introduces an education element that will help even the very young student make the connections between the written notes, the piano keys, and the pitch.

On my wish list for this app - a larger keyboard, to allow students to differentiate between low and high notes of the same name (notes that an octave apart, e.g. Middle C and the C an octave above).

### 4/5 — Close to perfect

*2011-11-13, version 1.3.0*

I really enjoy this application and I use it daily with my piano students. However there a few things that I would to address.

The bass clef symbol is not on the correct line. It needs to be on the F line with the two dots embracing the line, therefore reinforcing that it is the "F Clef. " Also the stylized letters for the seven notes as button choices (ABCDEFG) are confusing to young children. I recommend using a more normal-looking font for these letters. Lastly, the sounds for the notes are off by an octave: the treble notes are all one octave too low, as are the bass notes.

Thank you for considering these changes when you update. Overall a very nice app. Many of my families have purchased it for home use. The kids really love it when the squirrel eats the correct note choice!

### 4/5 — Great job - A few requests

*2011-09-15, version 1.3.0*

I like the sotware, really.

Please give us an option to completely hide all hints. My kids need and like your app. But the hints are too obvious. I need an option to hide all hints including colors. Augment the app instead with more fun animations as rewards for achieving tougher challenges.

Again thank you for a good app.

### 4/5 — Beautiful game

*2011-03-17, version 1.3.0*

This can be a very useful app to teach notes to children. I just think that it would be more useful if I could choose the range of the notes that will appear in the game such as middle g to treble g. My little ones haven't learned most of the notes yet, and I can't really use this app to them.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2016-12-16, version 1.7*

I like this app that helps with notes training.

### 5/5 — Loving this app!

*2014-08-05, version 1.7*

I am a piano teacher and my students are responding very well to playing the note games. Please make more apps or expanded versions of this one :)

### 5/5 — Wonderful App for any age

*2013-11-15, version 1.7*

This app is wonderful. It allows you to choose any range of notes, just bass or just treble, it has 3 different ways of teaching the notes so my 5 year old doesn't get bored, the comical appearance of lady bugs and squirrels makes her feel like she's playing a game rather than learning, it gives positive reinforcement when she completes a task, and it runs smoothly. Great job on design! I hope to use this app for years!

### 5/5 — Great app and lesson friendly!

*2013-09-15, version 1.6*

Finally an app that puts the teacher in control of which notes are displayed!, Not overwhelming for young beginners and an excellent tool for lesson plan. Thank you

### 5/5 — Great app for kids

*2012-02-17, version 1.4*

I love this app to practice note reading with my kidlet piano students.

### 5/5 — Beautiful and effective!

*2012-01-09, version 1.4*

This app is awesome! We have guitar and piano players in our family and we use this app everyday to help them learn and retain the notes. They WANT to use this app. It's got lovely whimsical, colorful graphics, and you can set how many notes they practice each session. You can use hints for the beginners and turn them off for more challenge. We love this app. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Cute and simple

*2011-10-23, version 1.3.0*

If you are a beginner to reading notes, this is a simple and fun app. Perfect for my 6 yr old who just started taking piano lessons. I'm 36 and enjoy quizzing myself too since I also just started taking piano lessons as well :)

### 5/5 — To the point

*2011-09-19, version 1.3.0*

Nicely designed tool for finally memorizing those notes. I also like the app Princess Piano, which is similar but with more of a focus on playing the piano.

### 5/5 — Really well designed & beautiful

*2011-07-08, version 1.3.0*

I downloaded several apps to help my 7 year old son with sight reading- the others pale in comparison. He chooses this one every time.
