## What is Rainmaking?

โครงการพระราชดำริฝนหลวง เกิดขึ้นจากพระราชดำริส่วนพระองค์ ในพระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดช มหิตลาธิเบศรรามาธิบดี จักรีนฤบดินทร สยามินทราธิราช บรมนาถบพิตร เมื่อคราวเสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยี่ยมราษฏรในพื้นที่แห้งแล้งทุรกันดาร ได้ทรงรับทราบถึงความเดือดร้อน ทุกข์ยากของราษฎร และเกษตรที่ขาดแคลนน้ำอุปโภคบริโภค และการเกษตร เมื่อเสด็จพระราชดำเนินกลับถึงกรุงเทพมหานคร ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้หม่อมราชวงศ์เทพฤทธิ์ เทวกุล วิศวกรและนักประดิษฐ์ควายเหล็กที่มีชื่อเสียงเข้าเฝ้าฯ แล้วพระราชทานแนวความคิดนั้นแก่ หม่อมราชวงศ์ เทพฤทธิ์ เทวกุล

จากทฤษฎีเริ่มแรกที่เกิดขึ้นหลังจากพระราชดำริ พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุยเดช ยังทรงใช้เวลาอีก ๑๔ ปี ในการวิเคราห์วิจัย ทบทวนเอกสาร รายงานผลการศึกษาและข้อมูลต่างๆ พระราชทานให้ หม่อมราชวงศ์เทพฤทธิ์ เทวกุล เพื่อประกอบการค้นคว้าทดลองมาโดยตลอด

ทั้งนี้เพื่อประโยชน์สุขแก่ประชาชนชาวไทย นับเป็นพระมหากรุณาธิคุณอันล้นพ้น
