A few days ago it stopped working. The app will no longer load/open. I have reinstalled the app twice now and still nothing. ### 1/5 — Update Broke App *2025-05-28* App was working fine until the latest update. Now, the app continues to “load” on the initial screen. It no longer takes me to the sign on screen. The latest update made this app essentially useless. I hope they issue a new update quickly that fixes the current issue. ### 1/5 — Done! *2025-05-28, version 3.0.13* I can’t depend on this application. It stays disconnected 75% of the time or it will not open at all. I spend more time trying to rectify the issues with this application than the rest of my household products together. My Alexa is even getting tired of the disconnected notifications. ### 3/5 — Not surprised I am not prompted to review the App *2025-05-26, version 3.0.13* I’ve had this app and system for nearly 4 years and never had any significant problems besides its poorly constructed UI/UX. However, I’m guessing my newest and first App issue is due to a software update on the EC5 or the App. I am now unable to connect to the system fully and monitor it properly. I was notified last night that the EC5 had disconnected from the app, and while I could quickly reconnect it, it’s now spitting out errors in the Rainsoft Remind App. The system itself is fine. My best guess is that some developer broke the encryption or API connecting the EC5 to the app with a software update to one of the two. Having been part of development teams at various companies for over 10 years, I’m laughing because this product would never have seen the light of day in my previous jobs and the person responsible would probably be without a job right now. So, in all honesty, this is not an app I would be proud to be putting out with my name on it. ### 1/5 — App worthless *2025-04-18, version 3.0.12* If Rainsoft is promoting this app it should be up to date with 5G and WiFi. Don’t waste your time on this. Totally misleading by Rainsoft!! ### 2/5 — I was able to reconnect but… *2025-03-14, version 3.0.12* It took me multiple attempts a lot of trial and error, but I finally got it to reconnect. The instructions are not clear as to how reconnect works. I had to do some finagling. Still not a good app. Someone who is not tech proficient would have an impossible time. ### 1/5 — Will not reconnect *2025-02-26* I’ve tried multiple times to reconnect this system after my power was disconnected for a little while. I follow each and every instruction and it still will not reconnect. I even tried emailing the company and they gave me the same instructions that is on the app. I guess I’ll have to check it manually because this app does not reconnect after it has been disconnected for a time and the instructions don’t help at all. **Developer response:** Hi Soldier13now, We’re sorry for any inconvenience. Provides some data points such as, last regen date, gallons used in the last 24 hours, estimated salt remaining. 2. System stats only provides gallons used to date - no running gallons count in real time. Average salt dose, volume used since last regeneration , date, treated since install, total gal used over 28 days. 3. Salt setting only gives you an option for vacation mode, regeneration start time, and salt fill level for the brine tank. How could this app be awesome? 1. Provide a way for the consumer to adjust the hardness without going to the equipment in person. 2. Provide a real time Gallons used ticker. 3. Provide a way to regeneration remotely. If the two parts of this post were combined, i reckon this would become a stellar app. However, I doubt they will ever improve this app as it stands. ### 1/5 — Great idea. Too bad it doesn’t work. *2025-01-29, version 3.0.12* I really like the new RainSoft EC5 system and I thought the ability to connect from my phone via WiFi was a great idea. The app doesn’t ell me which system I’m connecting to. The system disconnects from internet ALL the time and it takes multiple times to get it to reconnect. And now it won’t reconnect at all. Seriously RainSoft, FIX THIS ISSUE! ### 1/5 — App does not work. *2024-12-08, version 3.0.12* My EC5 system was recently repaired. Control panel was defective and was replaced. Re installed app on my iphone after 4 years as this app did not work after Rainsoft changed their servers in 2020. After 4 years I still have problems with the app. After numerous attempts to get it to connect to my home network all I get is a “registering account” message that does not go away and of course my EC5 system info does not display. I guess I will check my system manually as before. You upgraded to the point of failure. After multiple attempts. Wouldn’t allow my app to link to my home network. Making it worthless. The water softener and reverse osmosis work seamlessly. One of the gui problems I noticed was fixed in couple of weeks. People have this perception that just because you pay for internet, that your WIFI coverage is good. I upgraded my WIFI network to add more coverage around the house. This helped with getting the Rainsoft connected to the network with no issues. Also love thy it reminds me when to get salt for my system which is uber convenient. ### 4/5 — 2023 Updates - App Much Improved *2023-09-27, version 3.0.6* The recent updates since spring 2023 have finally taken this app from trash to useful. The connectivity has been pretty consistent since May 2023. It would still disconnect, but only during regeneration. The latest update in September fixed the lost connectivity during regeneration issue. Now the app says “IN REGENERATION” rather than disconnect like it did in the past.
