Shame will have to find something else ### 3/5 — Data usage *2026-05-12, version 2.6.5* I’ve used this app for a couple of years but I’ve deleted it now it’s joined the ranks of sending information to vendors, options accept all or manage consent. When manage consent there’s no “refuse all” just a long list of different data to vendors, so I’m not using it now. Shame ### 2/5 — Lost their way. *2025-11-09, version 2.6.4* App seems ok but combined with a flawed subscription model, it just isn’t worth it any more. I used to rely on this app almost exclusively, but when I travel, it doesn’t display anything outside the UK. With their subscription model, why bother? I don’t any more. Wir haben als Familie WeatherPro und RainToday seit Jahren bereits in der kostenpflichtigen Nutzung gehabt. Entscheidungen über Aktivitäten bei unserer Baustelle, im Garten, auf und am Wasser, ließen sich vortrefflich planen. Seit aber Apple seine Wetter App ausgebaut hat haben wir festgestellt, dass diese alleine reicht. Windfinder (13 Euro pro Jahr) und das JahresAbo von Meteogroup (10 Euro pro Jahr) waren es uns trotzdem Wert die gewohnten Oberflächen zu nutzen. Nach Umstellung der Firmenstruktur bei Meteosat, gibt es jetzt aber ein neues Abo Model mit einer Preissteigerung um ein Vielfaches?! Respekt für diesen mutigen Schritt der Entwickler von WeatherPro und RainToday. Wenn ich richtig rechne, so wird aus 10 euro Jahresbeitrag für die Familie, jetzt 32,94 Euro pro Jahr. Wir glauben, da ist der Point of Action mehr als nur verfehlt. Das lässt sich weder mit dem Entwickleraufwand noch mit der allgemeinen Preisentwicklung rechtfertigen und erklären. Spart euch daher bitte eure Standartantwort unter dieser Bewertung und ändert euere Preisstruktur. Ihr seid zu Teuer. RainToday und WeatherPro verschwinden gerade von unseren Applegeräten. ### 2/5 — Don’t bother getting the premium version *2024-07-10, version 2.6.4* The free version is fine, although there are some limitations as you would expect. Having then decided to pay the annual subscription for the premium version I was deeply disappointed with what I got. To be honest, I couldn’t see the difference. Couldn’t find anything in settings that improved the offer or my experience, such as lengthening the rainfall timeline. Two conversations with customer support were of no use whatsoever, and didn’t actually answer all of my questions. Oh, and you have to pay twice under this new subscription arrangement if you want to have it on both your iPad and iPhone, even though it’s your same Apple ID. I won’t be renewing my subscription, and I’ll be deleting this app. In future I’ll stick with, what I think are better apps - Rain Alarm XL or Zoom Earth ### 2/5 — Great app spoiled by lack of support *2024-07-04, version 2.6.4* It’s very useful as app gives short term indication of rain and is very accurate. But only if your location is correct! I live in Lelant near St Ives and app shows location as nearly 300 miles away! Notified multiple times over last 2 years and even explained how this likely happened. Supplied screenshots, correct postcode for area and nothing done to correct! Seems someone picked wrong St Ives for Lelant. But St Ives Cornwall location is correct and there is no Lelant near Cambridge St Ives. Sloppy and easy to fix, but nobody seems to be bothered to correct. ### 3/5 — Free version great. Paid version no better *2024-07-04, version 2.6.4* I’ve used the free version for ages now and love the accuracy of the rain radar so I’ve subscribed to the premium version to increase the forecast time from one hour to three hours. Paid my money but it’s still only showing one hour. Will be going back to free version. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cannot stop it collecting personal data *2026-05-15, version 2.6.5* After using the app for a while, it now requires my consent for the commercial use of my personal data. But there is no way to Reject All. Instead there are hundreds of so-called “legitimate interest” boxes that must be unticked. These are hidden within many subsections that must be individually opened. It is difficult, probably impossible to tell if you have unticked them all. Is this even legal? So I will delete the app. ### 1/5 — Too snoopy *2026-05-13, version 2.6.5* Was a great app, but privacy settings now too onerous. The list of third parties and vendors getting your information is almost endless, it is impractical to go through them all to switch off and no “reject all”button! Pity. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2026-01-29, version 2.6.4* It’s pouring down so bad right now and according to this app, there is no rain and none in immediate future. ### 1/5 — Regularly failing....... *2025-10-20, version 2.6.4* This was one of my favourite weather apps however recently it has failed to update about 3 of 4 times. A few days of issues on a (once) good app is acceptable however this has gone on too long! One of the main issues for me is that just when you really need it (frequent heavy showers) the app does not update possibly because it cannot cope with the volume of traffic to it? I’ve also had issues with the renewal process. ### 1/5 — Product is good; but charged double *2025-09-16, version 2.6.4* This is a good product and is accurate 99% of the time. However, they have changed their subscription system and it remains a confusing situation. The administration side badly needs to be upgraded to be fit for purpose as I have now twice been charged double with no prospect of a refund. The owners of this app (and Weather Pro) have more or less completely abdicated responsibility by simply pointing the finger at Apple (who are actually blameless) because their subscription process is flawed. Been a customer for many many years but fed up with this double charging. ### 1/5 — Rain Today triggering antivirus. *2025-07-06, version 2.6.4* Rain Today has been working fine for me but it is now triggering my antivirus because an unwanted advertisement has appeared at the bottom. Currently Temu. Pay, and get ads… This has been going on for months now. ### 1/5 — New rip off subscription model *2024-12-19, version 2.6.4* I’ve been using the Rain Today app along with their other app Weather Pro for a number of years, purchasing a single annual subscription to use premium features on both my iPhone and iPad. I’ve been very happy with the product up until now. Today being the time of the year when I opened Weather Pro on my iPhone it said my premium subscription had expired and to renew to get the features back. So I renewed expecting as other years that this would also renew Rain Today on both iPhone and iPad. How WRONG was I. The subscription successfully activated Weather Pro on my iPhone but when I opened up Rain Today I got a message that I also needed to subscribe to it to get premium features back. Thinking they were now just treating both apps as separate I stupidly subscribed to Rain Today on my iPhone. Imagine my shock and horror when opening the two apps on my iPad using the same Apple account to find that they were now longer premium and that a further two subscriptions would be needed to activate them. So that’s gone from 1 subscription to 4 subscriptions to now get the same as before. WHAT A RIP OFF. None of this was mentioned in the pop up box telling me my subscription had expired, just the same message as in previous years. This must have caught many out. I consider this huge change in terms of conditions without any warning illegal and have contacted the developer for a full refund as a result. If I fail to get justice I will be contacting the Apple App Store and suggesting they pull the apps until they make it clear that you are purchasing a subscription to a single app on a single device, not as previously. I have never come across another app where you have to pay again to use the same app on another Apple device using the same account. BLATENT RIP OFF NEEDS TO REMOVED UNTIL THIS IS MADE CLEAR ### 1/5 — Paid for premium, doesn’t work. Customer service ignoring emails too. *2024-10-31, version 2.6.4* Per other recent reviews which I wish I had read, rather than looking at the default “most helpful review”. I wish I had not purchased a subscription for premium features, it does not work. I used the free version of their app and decided to pay for the premium service per the advert rain today was displaying. Money was promptly taken around a month ago. No premium features were unlocked. Several hours wasted looking on their FAQ and help pages. I submitted a ticket to RainToday , received a response telling me to take the steps I already explained I had followed. I sent approximately 7 further emails to rain today trying to seek help accessing the service they have charged me for, including a letter of complaint and a request for a refund. All of which have been ignored. I will now have to seek a refund via apple. Wasting more of my time. Under no circumstances would I now recommend any product or service this company are involved with. Merci pour votre retour. ### 5/5 — Unschlagbar bei kurzfristigen Prognosen *2025-09-05* Ideale App, wenn man nochmal kurz raus möchte und man dafür in Kürze ein Zeitfenster sucht. Ganz toll, der Zeitverlauf über den Schieberegler, auf die Minute genau! Wer allerdings glaubt mit "today" eine minutengenaue Vorhersage für die nächsten 24h zu bekommen, der wird enttäuscht sein, denn die Vorhersage geht nur bis maximal 1h in die Zukunft. Und selbst in der Stunde können die Daten noch korrigiert werden, sodass es zur ursprünglichen Prognose noch zu Abweichungen kommen kann. Dennoch ist es die präziseste „Kurzzeitig-Wetterapp“, die ich kenne. ### 5/5 — Très très TRÈS bonne application ! *2025-04-21* RainToday n'est pas une simple application de météo que vous pouvez trouver partout sur l'App Store ! En effet cette application vous permet de savoir quand la pluie s'arrête et commence à la minute près ! Une option "radar" est également disponible pour montrer les averses qui traversent votre ville. Un seul défaut sur ce radar : les prévisions sont un peu étroites allant de 2h avant à 2h après mais en vrai c'est suffisant sur le moment. Weil ich so zufrieden bin, habe ich jetzt nach 2 Jahren gratis Nutzung, erstmals 3 Monate Premium bezahlt. Die App funktioniert gratis exakt genauso super wie mit Premium, aber nach der heutigen erfolgreichen Vermeidung eines gigantischen plötzlichen Gewitters mit Sturzregen, plagte mich mein Gewissen und ich wollte für jahrelange super Leistung bezahlen und auch eine gute Rezension hinterlassen. C’est pourquoi je ne mets que 3 xxx Merrrrveilleux le 12 avril fonctionne de nouveau depuis 1 jour ou 2 alors 5 xxx👏👏👏 Il reste toutefois un problème car parfois je n’ai les prévisions que pour 2 mn. Il est 6h03 et la fin de prévision est 6h05 alors ....à revoir .
