Why did I make another weather app? I’ve always loved them. Weather presents a fascinating design challenge: how do you explain what it feels like outside right now, what is unusual, and what will happen next without overwhelming people? After more than ten years as a professional iOS developer, I finally felt ready to build my own answer.

Rainy Skies is independently developed and regularly updated with new features, refinements, and bug fixes. I have a list of future ideas a mile long, so there is plenty more on the forecast.

I’m loving this app - I love that there are no adds and it doesn’t seem glitchy at all! It’s clean and easy to toggle between weather aspects. 

My only thing is that I don’t really know what the colored bars mean on the side beside the time of day, but that doesn’t impede my use of the app at all!

The way that the colored bars work (as of version 1.1) is as follows: Blue - possible rain, gray - cloudy, yellow - clear daytime, purple - clear nighttime. * The triumphant return of radar data. It's maybe a little less fancy, but hey, we gotta start somewhere.
* Weather alerts are now sourced directly from the National Weather Service (in the US). The weather alert screen and notifications should be greatly improved.
* Daily summary notifications are now more customizable! Add wind, UV Index, and other information into the notification always, or when they reach a certain threshold.
* Speaking of thresholds, get notified when the *current* weather crosses certain thresholds too. Get notified when the UV Index is above 7, or when wind gusts hit 40mph, or when the feels like temperature is sub-zero.

* App (UI): The weather screen sometimes failing to update bug should be fixed.
* App (Daily): Day summaries should now have the correct precipitation amounts.
