Overall we’ve really enjoyed using this app! It’s made such a wonderful addition to record keeping. Cons: the filtering tool can glitch when checking on multiple cows it sometimes removes the filter once you exit a cow. The pictures don’t always save. It would also be nice to be able to date pictures and add more or even a pdf. The calf ages recently changed from being noted in days to now being noted in months. This has happened before and they corrected it back to days but this time it’s evidently staying in months. This is less useful info and requires extra work to figure how many days old the calves are. Since update the adding notes the entire interface bounces and you can not read your notes. They are quick to respond to concerns but nothing gets fixed and your don’t hear back from them. The app also in very restrictive in the information that can be entered. Also, some of the options in the specific sections are letters only and no explanation of what the letters mean. ### 1/5 — NOT FREE! $7 per month after the free trial. *2017-11-18* The app is a B- at best. Half the time You enter the birth date of you cattle then it changes the date to something else. Also it has only one herd so you can't categorize your cattle. But my biggest upset is the fact that they make it look like a free app. Then after I spend hours entering my herd data. They then tell me a few days into it. That it will be $7 per month to continue using the app. Totally not worth it. ### 2/5 — No customer service *2023-03-20, version 2.9.0* Not that impressed. There’s a few different things when tracking my herd that I wish was on there. All there info is kept in the app and when administering vaccines or just doing routine checkups I pop open this app and save it. The 24/7 support has proven its worth. I’ve emailed asking so many questions and they are quick to answer or fix any problems. They are also so very open to suggestions for their app since us ranchers have to stick together! And maybe make a Apple Watch app. Thanks ### 5/5 — Good layout but too difficult and glitchy *2021-03-26, version 2.5* I’ve been playing around with different cattle management apps to try to find one that works great for my situation. I like the layout of this app the best so far in that it’s easy to scroll through the list of cows and see at a glance what the breed/cross of each one is. However it is far too glitchy at the moment. I enter a calf under the cow and it initially shows in the main list with a green tag next to the cow’s number, which is great and exactly what I needed (to see at a glance which cows have a calf at side). However, when I go back in the green tag is sometimes gone, the calf is gone and usually her calf is now listed under a different cow. Then there is no way to reassign that calf back to the correct cow or easily delete the calf. There also needs to be some sorting functions or more advanced filtering by breed, age etc. For now I will have to move to a different app that is more consistent but I will watch for updates on Ranchr and would be willing to give it another try if these issues are addressed and resolved. ### 5/5 — Rancher app *2020-12-17, version 2.2* So far I love the app. --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
