## What is Range Clips?

Range Clips - Smart Shooting Video Editor
Turn hours of range footage into minutes of action. Range Clips automatically trims
your shooting videos to show only the shots that matter—eliminating dead time and
making it effortless to review your performance and share with others.

The Problem with Regular Recording
Recording your shooting practice with a regular camera app creates hours of wasted
footage—time spent reloading, adjusting targets, and waiting between shots. Reviewing
these videos is tedious, and sharing them means forcing others to sit through all the
  downtime.

How Range Clips Solves It
Range Clips uses advanced audio detection to identify each gunshot. It automatically
captures only the critical moments—a few seconds before and after each shot—then
stitches them together into one continuous video. A 30-minute range session becomes a
2-minute highlight reel of pure action.

Key Features
  • Automatic Shot Detection - Uses audio analysis to identify when you fire
  • Smart Trimming - Captures only relevant footage, discarding dead time
  • Hands-Free Recording - Set it up once and focus on shooting
  • Instant Results - Your edited video is ready when your session ends
  • Adjustable Sensitivity - Fine-tune detection for any environment or caliber
  • Easy Sharing - Send compact videos to instructors, friends, or social media

Perfect For
  - Analyzing your shooting form and technique
  - Tracking improvement over time
  - Sharing highlights without boring your audience
  - Getting feedback from instructors
  - Documenting range sessions efficiently

Stop wasting time reviewing empty footage. Get straight to the shots that matter with Range Clips.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.6.1 — 2026-04-17

1.6.1
**Simplified camera flow** — removed the separate Preview Camera screen. "Open Camera" now opens the camera view directly in a ready-but-not-recording state.
**Import Calibration View** — new full-screen step when importing a video that shows an audio waveform with shot markers, a live shot counter, and a per-shot timestamp list. Tap any shot row to seek the inline player to that moment for verification before committing to the import.
**Import sensitivity stored separately** — the threshold used when importing is saved independently of the live-recording threshold so calibrating an import never affects live detection.
**Photo Library picker** — videos can now be imported from the Photos library in addition to Files. The picker intelligently selects the correct Type regardless of whether the asset is `.mov` or `.mp4`.

### 1.5 — 2026-01-11
