What's New in Rank your games
2.0.4

A NEW WAY TO LOOK AT YOUR GAMES The app has been rebuilt. It is dark throughout, every screen is new, and choosing between two games is a screen again rather than two cards on a list. CHOOSING IS A SCREEN AGAIN Each game's cover is shown whole, at its own proportions, with the words beside it instead of printed across the art. Nothing is cropped and nothing is written over a poster, so what you are choosing between is the artwork as it was made. The whole card picks — the name works, not just the cover — and it answers your finger the moment you touch it. When a pick moves a game up your list, a band across the screen says where it landed. YOU START WITH YOUR OWN GAMES The first thing the app does now is ask which games you have played, from a grid of ones you are likely to recognise. Then it puts those against each other. Before, your first comparison was between two games you might never have heard of. If nothing in the grid is yours, search for anything and add it from there. YOUR RANKING TELLS YOU WHAT MOVED The list marks what has climbed or slipped since you last looked. Every game's line reads "Your No. 7", so a position always comes with the work behind it. A game's page now shows where it stands, what it runs on and what the world scored it, beside the cover instead of in a block underneath. AND YOU CHOOSE THE COLOUR Under You, in Language and colour, there are five accents — or a rule that takes the colour of whatever is at the top of your ranking, and changes when that does. The accent only ever marks what you measured yourself: your position, your pick, the tab you are on. There is also a switch for the rating behind each position. It is off by default, and it is there for when the order looks wrong and you want to see why.
