I am able to find events and news in my area. The businesses are also an added bonus. There are some categories that do not have listings, but I assume that is because the app has not officially launched yet. 17 August 2016 - I cant wait!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Too bad zero stars isn’t an option *2020-07-15, version 4.3* This app is supposed to be a Black Owned Business directory. But I’ve found several businesses that aren’t Black Owned listed with them. I alerted them by email to the first one I found and the “CEO” replied with a very dismissive, rude, unprofessional and condescending attitude about it. It isn’t the consumer’s job to vet these businesses. That’s what the app is supposed to do. Literally, they have ONE job! There are other Black owned business directories and apps that are actually accurate and list Black businesses. Don’t waste your time or clutter your phone with this one. EDIT: see the developer’s response below. No accusations were made. I asked for assurance that they vetted. The developer took offense at that and initiated a back forth with a defensive stance, much like what’s written in his response. Proof positive in written form that this is an unprofessionally run app. Need I say more? **Developer response:** Your initial email to us was very accusatory and rude. We responded, letting you know that we rely on community to report businesses that are no longer Black owned. The business in question was sold, which made it no longer Black owned. If you are not part of the solution, you are a problem. We are a community based platform and clearly you do not wish to partake. That is your right.. then keep it moving. Seriously, I couldn’t even understand the purpose of it!!! ### 4/5 — Sensible consumer and Black culture *2019-02-13* This is great! I didn’t realize this was even out there, a place you can find details on Black business and such... it’s hard to find and buy Black when you don’t know who owns and promotes different - this app helps a lot. The app helps you locate needed businesses and services in various categories and what I really love is that it makes it easier to support Black own business in various areas.
