## What is Rapid Response by DRI?

Rapid Response is the crash reconstruction toolkit built for forensic traffic analysts, collision investigators, and law enforcement professionals who need accurate math in the field — not back at the office.

Built by the Driver Research Institute, Rapid Response puts 70+ peer-referenced formulas, case documentation tools, and crash-data lookups in one app, with results you can trust and export straight into a report.

CALCULATIONS
• 70+ formulas covering speed from skid/yaw, drag factor, braking, conservation of momentum, pedestrian throw, motorcycle and bicycle dynamics, lead-vehicle avoidance, perception-reaction time, and more
• Switch instantly between US, SI, and UK unit systems
• Auto-fill presets with tappable source citations linking straight to the underlying research
• Step-by-step "working" breakdowns you can review, not just a final number
• Built-in Monte Carlo sensitivity analysis for uncertainty ranges

FIELD TOOLS
• Scene Diagram — freehand scene sketching with adjustable point density, built for on-scene documentation
• Photo Log — in-app camera with automatic GPS, timestamp, and case-note EXIF embedding
• Vehicle Inspection — structured photo and note capture for post-crash vehicle documentation
• VIN Doctor — decode a VIN and pull IIHS safety ratings
• Case Manager — organize calculations, photos, and notes by case
• Sun & Moon — lighting-condition lookups for time-of-crash visibility analysis

CRASH DATA LOOKUPS
• FARS Crash Lookup — search NHTSA's Fatality Analysis Reporting System
• UK Crash Lookup — search UK Department for Transport STATS19 collision data

REPORTING
• Generate a clean PDF export of your calculations, complete with citations, ready to attach to a case file

COMMUNITY
• A professional forum to discuss cases, methods, and best practices with other reconstructionists

Rapid Response is free to use during our launch period — no subscription required to access the full formula library, tools, and forum. Create a free account to get started.
