### 1/5 — Worthless

*2026-03-12*

Can’t even use the app because every time a take a selfie to verify, it doesn’t process.

### 1/5 — Can’t Get It To Work

*2026-02-11*

Just like the title says, I can’t get the app to work. ID scan went smoothly, but it would not take my selfie (all 23 attempts!!) due to a “processing error”or simply not being able to verify my face. I have tried troubleshooting to no avail. Like others here have said, I’m glad my child’s school is taking security seriously! I just wish it was with an app that was actually made properly.

**Developer response:** We hear you, and that level of difficulty with selfie verification is not acceptable. The good news: our latest update (v1.12) includes significant improvements to the identity verification process specifically to address experiences like yours. Please update the app and give it another try. Your school's front office can help if any issues persist. Thank you for sticking with it!

### 1/5 — Facial match doesn’t work

*2026-02-04*

I’d like to say I got to use the app, but I can’t even get it to start working! The dumb thing won’t even match my selfie to my drivers license! Terrible piece of garbage.

**Developer response:** We understand your frustration with the facial matching process. We've recently released update v1.12, which includes significant improvements to identity verification. Please ensure your app is updated and try again — a well-lit environment and removing hats or glasses can also help. If the issue continues, your school's administration can assist with next steps. Thank you for your patience!

### 1/5 — Does not work right

*2026-01-29*

Yet another app that some salesman sold a school district that has poor functionality and poor support. That scans all our data so it's on another database in another place making it unsafe. Every couple years someone talks a school district into a new app that we have to re-download re-sign in create IDs for and then that company closes down or merges with another because it's garbage and then our IDs and our information is on another database somewhere in the cloud waiting to get stolen. Create an your account scan your ID or manually enter cool I'll manually enter no that's not good enough must scan your drivers license scan it over and over and over again even though I don't want to but I want to support my kid at school it doesn't upload oh it's wrong try positioning at this try doing that try doing this no fix your broken app. Or don't I just wait a year or two until your funding runs out and then re-create it under a different name under a new company ID with new funding probably from a grant that taxpayers pay for. I walk up to school show my ID to the school they let me in I don't need your app. Now if more intelligent in common sense people worked at the schools to keep from falling for this stuff or are there kickbacks involved?

**Developer response:** We understand your concerns about both data security and the scanning process. Your data is encrypted and handled in compliance with strict privacy standards — protecting your information is a top priority. Regarding the ID scanning difficulties, our latest update (v1.12) significantly improves identity verification. Please update and try again. For further assistance, your school's administration can help.

### 1/5 — ID scan fail

*2026-01-29*

I tried scanning my DL for half an hour and it wouldn’t accept it. There was no way to see what the picture looked like to see what the problem was. My ID isn’t damaged, I changed the lighting, I blocked the light so there wasn’t a glare, etc. I’m an online student and have to scan my DL all the time for proctored tests so it felt ridiculous. It’s also stupid that we can’t just take the photo and then upload it.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-01-29*

Great idea, but when you picture your ID clear, at least 10x, and it doesn’t accept, what’s the point?

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2025-12-06*

Will not accept my "selfie". I've tried at least 50x and it rejects it every time. Reasons, I don't look like my DL, your app doesn't recognize me, shows that I have glasses, hat or a mask on. It shouldn't be this hard. Because i can't use the app, I now have to stand in line at my grandkids school and sign in the old fashion way.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to troubleshoot so thoroughly — half an hour is far too long. We've recently released v1.12, which brings significant improvements to the ID scanning and verification process. Please update and give it another try. Your suggestion about a photo upload option is great feedback that we've passed along to our team. Your school's office can help with any further issues.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2025-10-29*

The idea behind the app is nice, but the actual process of setting up an account is trash. I have no problem checking in on the school kiosk, but it can take a few minutes so I thought I’d just get the app to make it faster. No issues entering information or scanning my ID, but I’ve tried maybe 30 times (no joke, 30 times) verify with a selfie and it fails every time. I don’t look any different than my ID picture. I just deleted the app. So frustrating.

**Developer response:** We completely understand your frustration — 30 attempts is unacceptable, and we're sorry you had that experience. We've since released update v1.12, which significantly improves the selfie verification process. If you're willing to give it another try, please reinstall and update to the latest version. Your school's front office can also help if you run into any issues.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2025-10-28*

Spent 30 minutes trying to get the selfie to work and finally gave up. Poor quality app, there are many better options. Avoid!!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-10-26*

After going through the process to verify my id, the app freezes while “preparing the device”. I tried several times. Save yourself sometime and don’t download.

### 1/5 — selfie? check id?

*2025-10-21*

it doesn't like my selfie x17 attempts, it doesn't like my ID x6 attempts, I give up. this app is TRASH, i love my kids school is using a security precaution but can they not find an actual functional app? :)

**Developer response:** We hear you — that many attempts on both the selfie and ID scan is way too many. Since your review, we've released update v1.12 which significantly improves the entire identity verification process. We hope you'll consider giving it another try with the latest version. Your school's front office can help if anything comes up. Thank you for supporting your child's school security!

### 1/5 — Unworkable

*2025-09-27*

Both the app on my phone and at the check in station are terrible. Multiple failures to scan my ID, and the selfie. Process is miserable. How can I see the instructions without my glasses? Yet, it finally worked ( eventually) with my glasses on.

Trying to use the app to get my own QR code was a failure also. The ID scan worked better, but I couldn’t get a selfie after multiple attempts.

So, I guess I will have to endure the check in process every time I visit my son in the hospital.

I don’t usually give negative reviews, but this is very frustrating. I hope you can fix this whole system. Way too finicky and unworkable.

**Developer response:** Thank you for this detailed feedback — we can tell you don't leave negative reviews lightly, and we appreciate it. Since your review, we've released update v1.12 which significantly improves the identity verification process including ID scanning and selfie capture. Your point about readability without glasses is noted and valuable. Please update to the latest version and try again. Your facility's front desk can assist if needed.

### 1/5 — Crazy

*2025-09-09*

It’s easier getting on a airplane than getting into fourth grade grandparents day at my grandson’s school

### 1/5 — Scan Id

*2025-09-01*

I have tried to scan my id countless times across different internets, backgrounds and positions. The app can still somehow manage to fail every time. Please fix it, awful app.

### 1/5 — There are better

*2025-08-25*

Selfie taking is ridiculous. Remove glasses? Can’t see the instructions. How long does it take for a selfie….gave up after 10 attempts.

In person at office is not great, after several self check in attempts, office clerk helped several times and the last time gave up and gave me a visitor badge.

Other schools with different apps were painless and a text check out.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-08-26*

This app has so little information you could delete it and nothing would change. Doesn’t let you know anything when picking up your child. If I could rate it zero stars I would.

### 1/5 — Does not work at all

*2026-06-11*

I don’t which company from which country designed this. But it doesn’t work. Pain for everyone. Time to resist this app.

### 1/5 — Deletion

*2026-05-31*

Raptor Technologies collects your personal data : name, date of birth, partial license number, and photo, every time you visit your child’s school, yet deliberately excludes visitor data from their public facing privacy policy. When I contacted them directly to understand how long my data is retained and to request deletion, they deflected me back to the school district.

The school deflected me back to them. Meanwhile, in January 2024, Raptor exposed over 4 million records: including visitor driver’s license data
, in an unsecured cloud database with no password protection. There is no publicly stated fixed retention period for your data, no transparency about third party sharing, and no straightforward path to deletion. This app is installed in schools across the country and parents are given no meaningful choice but to comply. Every parent scanning their license at a school front desk deserves to know exactly what they are consenting to and right now, Raptor makes sure you cannot easily find out.

### 1/5 — Not intuitive

*2026-05-20*

Slow to work, if there is more than 1 person trying to enter it just mucks up everything and is expensive for the schools.

### 1/5 — Could Not Complete Set Up!

*2026-05-12*

Wish I had read the reviews before even attempting to sign up. Tried 4 times to get past the selfie step with no luck. It did scan my DL……now I wish it had not!!!

### 1/5 — You school district paid for this?

*2026-05-11*

I have no idea why my school district restricted paid for a product and program that makes it harder to pick up my child after school. There was no problem with me picking up my child. Now they want a bunch of my information which obviously is likely to be leaked based on previous review reviews of this product. I honestly wish I didn’t have a smart phone so I could tell these people who fought this was a brilliant idea that I can’t use it. Furthermore, the Internet inside my child’s school is spotty, making this not work well. I’m sure somebody checked that out before coming up with this absolutely idea. They will never admit that they are trying to drive parents, insane, but if they were, they wouldn’t act any different. If you’re reading this review, congrats and you’ve been likely
screwed too.

### 1/5 — doesn’t work

*2026-05-08*

I tried like 20 times to get it accept my selfie and it kept saying it didn’t match. Not really sure how to look more like myself, but this app isn’t buying that I’m the same person as the one on my driver’s license and now I can’t go to my kid’s science fair. so that’s not awesome.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work properly

*2026-04-23*

Numerous attempts to scan my license and take the selfie to confirm. Each time the app failed to function properly. Waste of time. Given these problems, makes me suspicious about how secure personal data is kept.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2026-03-13*

Signed in and the very next time it acts like I’m new and can’t even send any verification or even sign in now. Junk app.

### 1/5 — History of Data Leaks

*2026-03-12*

Just do a quick search on this company and see the problems they have had with huge amounts of personal information on students being available to the public. Now the CEO is selling personal information to... well probably not someone you would send your kids photo and SSN to. The privacy risk of this software is well beyond the reasonable issues it addresses. I wish schools would stop buying this snake oil with our children's information.

## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fast

*2026-08-27*

App setup was a breeze, with a quick scan of my state issued ID and then a selfie (I mean, who can’t take a selfie these days?!). I was instantly verified in the app. At a school event, I was able to bypass the long parent line and head straight to the door, where a scanner scanned my phone and allowed me to enter the event. So convenient!

I read reviews of a data breach, and then did a simple online search to discover there was no breach. In 2024 a security researcher found an unsecured database, told raptor’s company representatives about it, and raptor had it secured the next day. There was also no evidence of third party access to the unsecured database.

### 3/5 — No upload?

*2025-06-06*

I highly recommend adding an upload option when creating the passport vs only scanning an ID. Even top government apps/sites allow uploading a pic.

### 2/5 — “First name was not was not detected”

*2025-09-06*

No matter what I do, I cannot get it to register my first name. Pretty sure it’s because my signature is in about font size 4 and it doesn’t know what to do with that.

### 2/5 — Selfie

*2025-04-10*

Having a tough time getting the app to accept the selfie.
