I also have african american hair so I’m not sure if that’s the reason the AI wasn’t able to pick up on my hair or what but that was my experience. **Developer response:** Thanks for sharing this, and sorry the hair section missed the mark. Early versions were weaker with some hair textures and styles. We've since rebuilt the hairstyle flow with better face-shape and hair analysis, and we're continuing to improve coverage for all hair types. We've pushed several updates since February that fixed launch issues affecting some devices. Try deleting and reinstalling the latest version from the App Store. And i paid 10$ did i get it back. Nope. Stay away. **Developer response:** Really sorry about this. Version 2.2 had issues that we've since fixed, including the hairstyle feature and the crash-on-launch bug. The app is in a completely different place now. For the refund, Apple handles all subscription payments directly. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com and they're usually quick about it. If you ever want to give the updated version a try after that, we'd welcome you back. ### 1/5 — Might as well use ChatGPT, YT and a notebook *2025-12-16* 6€ or the obvious upsell of 35€ a year for limited basic photo AI features and a glorified Todo list you build in a bootcamp. Btw limited as in even on premium you get only a handful of the photo AI features. Bought a week week just because I’m trying to be more open minded but every time I get reminded that I’m right and should just keep my money 😅 **Developer response:** Hey Caja, fair critique and we took it seriously. Since December we've rebuilt the analysis pipeline with our FRESH Method (6-pillar scoring system), added a full AI-generated glow-up plan with specific recommendations, hairstyle matching with face shape detection, and transformation tracking. The app in March is a different product from what you tried in December. If you're open to giving it one more look, we think you'll see the difference. ### 1/5 — Paying for Claude’s Free Output *2025-12-10* They basically use the Claude API. They charge you for ratings that they themselves get from Claude, while you can get the rating directly from Claude for free. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. RateByFresh is more than a raw model prompt: it combines structured scoring, photo analysis, hairstyle and looksmaxxing recommendations, and a personalized plan in one flow. That said, we're continuing to add more value so the subscription feels clearly worth it. ### 1/5 — Just bad *2025-11-25* Won’t let me cancel subscription, hairstyle feature is terrible, overall just not good and it makes you pay before you use it. **Developer response:** Hey Alex, sorry about that. To cancel your subscription, go to iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions > RateByFresh > Cancel. Apple manages all billing directly so it can't be done inside the app. On the hairstyle feature, we've completely rebuilt it since version 2.0 with face shape detection and better recommendations. The app has changed a lot since November. If you give the latest version a try we'd appreciate a second look. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work. Ridiculous pricing. *2025-05-25* This app is horrendous. And it’s a borderline scam. Don’t give them your money. The hair scan straight up doesn’t work at all. Awful waste of money. **Developer response:** Hey, we understand the frustration. You reviewed version 1.5 and honestly the app has been rebuilt since then. The hair scan now uses face shape detection with matched style recommendations, we added the FRESH Method 6-pillar analysis, personalized glow-up plans, and transformation tracking. It's a completely different product from what you experienced last May.
