### 1/5 — The most useless app

*2026-02-08*

I joined this app in November and I won 1 lead since then. I tried to cancel my membership in December seen as the £142 didn’t seem doable with Christmas coming up, was told I could pause my membership so I wouldn’t get charged and they went ahead and charged me anyway so that was a massive hit before Christmas. I raised this concern to them and instead of being reimbursed for this they decided it was fair to pause next months payment, how does that help me before Christmas? Come January I decided to cancel again and this time actually cancel, 6 or 8 tries later I’m still trying to cancel my memebership with 0 word from them to say it has been done. Raised these concerns to the virtual assistant (cause they refuse to let you speak to an actual person) and I have been told the same thing every single message that a case has been raised and they’ll review it and get back to asap. Next billing date is coming up and I think I’m going to get charged yet again even though I followed their instructions by cancelling way in advance. Absolute joke of a website/app, wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2025-02-11*

Avoid them at all cost , they post fake leads with fake numbers and emails which would benefit only them if you agree with their terms and conditions you can’t cancel the contract before expiring . invisible contact which they never provided , they totally ignore you through the emails they don’t have a phone number to call a joke not a business rip off , after responding to certain amount of leads under unlimited plan they freeze your account due to their policy - fair use policy hardly any leads during the week I’ve used them for a month and responded to 20+ leads 17 of them had fake numbers which clearly don’t work and emails are just made up , when you sign in and agree to the contract they are promising you everything just to get you sign in after this you realised that is a total scam I’ve tried to cancel the contract on the 3rd day but they don’t offer 14 days cooling of period as is B2B i genuinely hope people will read this before singing up for this scam plenty of bad reviews I don’t know what was in my mind Avoid !!!!!!!!!!

### 1/5 — This is not a reasonable application software!

*2024-04-17*

I have been using this software for 13 months! The first month was a probationary period, and after using it, I felt pretty good. (They deceived me, their service attitude and response efficiency were still good before signing a 12 month contract! However, after you signed the contract, it changed. If you didn't reply in a timely manner, sometimes no one answered the phone!) It's undeniable that I got some jobs with this software, but their fees are indeed a bit high. Whether you purchase or not, they don't care. They only charge their membership fee (360 per month), and they won't refund any unused points! What's even more despicable is that I sent them an email before the 12 month contract expired expressing my unwillingness to renew it, but they didn't reply to any messages and continued to deduct my membership fee! This is a fraudulent act! Not recommended!

### 1/5 — Scammers

*2023-12-03*

Do yourself a favour do not sign upto these scammers. You will get a friendly bloke phoning when you submit an interest and get you to sign up once you’ve done forget about getting them to get in touch with you with any queries or concerns. I signed up 3 months ago and within the first day I bought a ridiculously priced £35 lead as to be fair there wasn’t much choice in jobs. Then the funny part. It was a fake phone number I did manage to speak to the guy that signed me up who said there want much that can be done about getting the money back!! WHAT! Since then I had the rest of my credits on there and used most since. No reply to any calls or messages I’ve sent to the supposed ‘’customer’’ obviously set up by the people that work there. I’ve emailed these jokers at rated people countless times since for them to contact with me and nothing not zip I’ve heard. The other part they don’t tell you you join upto a contract so getting rid of these pieces of filth is not possible until that contract runs out!! There are far better sites out there I’m doing well on. Just wanted to broaden my options. Really wish I hadn’t given these scammers my hard earned. Don’t make the mistake I made

### 1/5 — Scam company.

*2023-11-08*

Where to start off. Firstly the price they charge for jobs is insane. A small £250 repair job they are wanting £42+ VAT. The money back guarantee on wasted job leads is a sham. Only get three jobs back every three months.
I’ve rarely used this app, so I knew I was tied in for 12 month contract so I brought my payments down and not bothered with it, since then I’ve have now tried to cancel the account and payments well over 10 times now.
Sending numerous emails and messages to there Facebook page but just seem to get ignored so they are now taking my money without permission. I’ve gone to the bank and trading standards. Don’t bother with the app, they sell you a dream and it’s not. SCAM

### 1/5 — Absolute rubbish money sucking site

*2020-11-17*

I applied to this site as electrician. As during a phone call to register I was explained how good is this site, loads of works, money back guarantee if client doesn’t respond to your purchases job, free cancellation and refund within 14 days. Paid minimum amount to get started to find out how it works. Straight away found out only few new jobs comes out everyday, even if my chosen area is nearly half a London; job’s quotes already estimated and given, which sometimes seems not anywhere near normal and don’t think any customer would like to pay them, prices to purchase leads are very high, where competitors websites charge 1/3. Other thing didn’t like is I purchase lead first and only then I quote to customer actual price, where in other sites I can quote from description and if customer chooses me, then I pay lead price. After 14 days if not cancelled, your account becomes valid for 1 year. Same like phone or broadband contract. Even if of some reason you don’t use site (very busy at that moment with other works), you still pay direct debit each month for a year!!! And finally, I purchased 4 leads, contacted customers, none of them respond. Tried to get money back as promised, but found out you can claim only 20%, in other words only 1/5 leads. Very dissatisfied and would not recommend it to anyone!!!

### 1/5 — Do you enjoy wasting money? If so download.

*2020-04-12*

Where to start..... this used to be a really good way of connecting with customers who needed work doing. You paid a small fee dependant on the size of the job to get the customers details to then be able to provide a quote for the work. All was well in rated people. Over the last year tell he pricing of a small £250 job has gone stupid, you now have to spend £20 plus vat to even get a customers number which as you know doesn’t even guarantee you the job. The amount of times I have purchased a job lead phoned the customer and then by that point which sometimes is only 30 mins after they posted the job they have already found someone on google etc. Ok no problem rated people say you can get your money back for the wasted lead..... have you ever tried getting blood from a stone, it’s easier trust me! They have a limit on how often you can try to claim wasted lead money back from jobs and once you reach “their quota” you can’t claim anything else back which has genuinely resulted in stupid amounts of money being wasted. In conclusion if they drop the greed level back to a number you can afford to still price competitively and not cry when you don’t get refunded then yes it’s a good site to use. Until who ever is on this greed path stops then it isn’t viable to use. You just can’t waste £20 each time you buy a job or try and quote against people! Yours truly a gold member.....

### 1/5 — Disappointed in rated people

*2019-12-12*

I’ve been with rated People for over 5 years and I mu say am very disappointed . Sometimes I understand I ask myself if they are registered at all. e.g when a lead is send to you it shows you that you are the first to buy. Then you buy because u think u have a best chance of quoteing first that’s according to rated People but when you buy the home owners telling you they had other quotes. Too many times and to often wen you buy this leads you never get the home owners and most time they even tells you don’t call this number they will not even listen to have you have to say. They will say things like wrong number. I don’t need your. Service on number of Occasions they will not let u get into there homes . So when you have reached your 20% in 90days rated people don’t want to know. Am a Ltd company I’ve got over 100 ratings one got to spend way too much money on rated people before they can make some cash this can’t be right e.g I’ve spend over £900 in 90days and did not make £100 because can’t get hold or homeowners or they tell u they are not ready they will get back to you and never do. Cash lost over and over. So be very care full when usein rated people

### 1/5 — Avoid this site at all costs!!!

*2019-04-16*

The lead prices are a joke, compared to other more realistic sites, and 6 out of 10 leads you buy seem to never answer the phone or tell you they have changed there mind and no longer want the job done and you are only allowed to claim 20% of your total lead spend over last 3 months back, so once you reach that limit you have to pay around £40 because someone “posted a lead by accident”( someone actually told me that )and quite simply the returns I get from other websites are far greater this is a waste of time and money, don’t make the mistake I have made by signing up to a 12 month plan because I am wasting £100 a month. AVOID !!!

### 1/5 — Bogdan

*2018-06-14*

As professional tradesmen I finding it difficult during winter , so joined Rated People to help find more work. After 4 days, I could see this wasn't going to work - you have to buy leads and then are competing with other tradesmen who may not be offering a decent service (and who may not be qualified). We didn't like this so tried to opt out, but they would not refund any money that I had paid for becoming a member. They trick me and told me that I can cancel at any time but I couldn’t because it was a 12 months contract, so they charge me £24 each month even I didn’t use the account and I ask them to cancel. Purely a money making excercise which doesn't work for a professional and does not guarantee a 'Rated' person. A rip-off act, who are more bothered to keep the £40 and another £288 for 12 months than offering a good service to the tradesman, and thus the customer.

Be careful !!!

### 5/5 — Worth a go

*2024-04-08*

I’ve been a member of rated people for 3 years, It’s taken this amount of time to realise the genuine leads from the time wasters , I’d recommend the site as a add on to existing work load , I’d find it hard to rely on the site to keep me fully employed, though leads I’ve purchased and won the work have always been worth while and quite profitable

### 5/5 — Jim Mcbeth Electrical Services

*2019-04-06*

I would like to say that total rewiring of my property, some areas over 100 yrs old was carried out sympathetically and with great professionalism by Jim Mcbeth of Electrical Services.I was delighted with his efficiency, especially as one of the rooms was panelled all the way round which posed a challenge that he overcame extremely well . Great attention to detail was taken and respect for the property.
Thanks again Jim for an excellent job.
Kindest Regards,
Melanie Hamilton

### 3/5 — Swings and roundabouts

*2024-04-08*

Can be good sometimes all depends on the customer you can get some real time wasters who will just use you to get a price even though you have to pay up to £40 if not more, sometimes. I’m not too sure if the customer knows that you have to pay to get the lead but when you do get the job it’s worthwhile and you can get some really good jobs, but there is quite a lot of competition and sometimes there will be no leads at all in the full month and you still have to pay for your credit which is minimum £42 a month

### 3/5 — Great site

*2018-01-28*

I’m using site daily and get plenty of leads leading to work which is great, the biggest and only issue/problems I find is when leads I purchase have already been purchased meaning I’m 2nd to buy the homeowner doesn’t always notify the system of completed job resulting in job still open to being purchased, also when I purchase leads and contact the homeowner has changed their mind and cancelled job after contacting them it is very difficult to obtain lead credits back via system as if you add to many requests for credit of leads they lead to refusal, I would not be comfortable purchasing leads over the £5-£8 price as cannot guarantee you will get the chance to quote, be careful.

### 3/5 — Traders complaints

*2018-01-28*

I’m not happy that a customer can decline a money back request and the trader has no say, this has happened on numerous occasions and I’ve requested a call back from trustatrader which never happens. It would be nice for us to have a number to speak to customer services direct as they’ve never got back to me. Why is there a limit on how much credit you will refund as all requests are legitimate. Your allowing the same customers to put their job on 2-3 times allowing 3-9 quotes when the limit is 3? Any bad feedback from clients cannot be removed Regardless of how untrue!

### 2/5 — Leads

*2023-04-08*

Leads are to expensive paying £30 pound for jobs that are only worth under £100. Prices need to be lowered to get more works. Customers used to be able to quote there job under £100 pound but now they start from under £250 which means the jobs cost the trades people a lot more money ie a kitchen tap replacement will vary between £80-£100 and paying £30 for the job. However rated people do give you extra on your balance but it’s not enough to cover the prices we pay. 4 jobs will cost you around £120 but not guaranteed you’ll win the work either

### 2/5 — Lead prices becoming a joke

*2018-10-29*

I use RP a lot and have had mixed success with leads, this is understandable as you compete with other local trades people who may of bought same lead. What is becoming more of a joke is the cost to buy leads. A job to replace a tile on a roof £40 +vat really! Strangely I’ve seen the same jobs on other sites offered at much lower prices so it’s worth having a few on the go to compare.
Problem seems if the customer, who may not know how much a job costs, puts in a budget a large percentage seems to be charged as a lead fee.
Working around a large city I’ve got to be competitive, lead fees here don’t help!
If you sign up your stuck, no get out as min term is 12 months. You’ll be offered a up/down grade but your 12 months reset.
For me what started as a decent way to find work has become a costly adventure, I now use up my credit on what I can afford to buy that I think I’ll get a return from then it sits ideal until the next top up. I’m finding better rates and returns at some of the many other pay as you go sites.
RP did a survey a while back and assured tradesmen prices would be more realistic, sadly this lasted a few short months.
You have the potential RP, don’t be so bloody greedy, we all need to make a living!!!! 😡

### 2/5 — Traders beware

*2018-09-10*

My advice before you sign up to this, research their rules and guidelines and make sure you know what you’re getting into before you sign up. Be careful.

The idea behind this is great and the App works flawlessly, which is why I’ve given it 2 stars.
The negative for me is that as a new trader just starting out, every penny counts.
The lead prices are ridiculous and seem to have no structure to them. A huge job that could potentially earn you hundreds will cost £25 while a quick repair to a socket that would only earn £25 will cost you £13?!?
Next issue is refunds. They say if there’s a problem you can request a refund, but what they don’t tell you is that you can only request refunds if you are a subscribed member on a 12 month contract. PAYG traders are NOT entitled to any refund requests, so when you pay £13 for your little £25 earner, and you get the contact details and call the customer only to be told “sorry, the job doesn’t need done now”, you’ve lost your money.

### 2/5 — Keeps crashing - high prices

*2018-02-28*

Rates People:

Generally a great service from RP, as other have mentioned in here lead prices are too high, some are around £40-£50! Some posters have had he work done and by he time you call them they they no longer need you.
The service relies on the homeowner to input the information which is sketchy at best is usually inaccurate.
Also this lead credit auto decline service is bull S!!/:!, I am having leads declined as they ‘’exceed the number of normal request for jobs in my trade in my area!’’ I cover half-most of South Wales for god sake! The customer has txt me so I have proof they didn’t allow me to quote and you say there nothing you can do about it! I feel robbed especially with leads over £20. C’mon.

The app:

Despite several updates the app blacks out or even crashes when deleting job leads or requesting ratings etc... archived leads via the site still appear on the app so really hard to organise leads on the mobile vs desktop site. Would really like this feature to be put into use (active and up to date archive list on mobile devices).

### 2/5 — Rip off

*2018-02-04*

The app itself is ok which is why im giving 2 stars. The service is poor when is why im not giving 5. Expensive jobs, loads of time wasters on their website looking for tradesmen just to waste their time and money. Their lead reporting and refund system for the jobs that end up being a waste of time is an absolute joke. They are quick to take your money but wont refund you when you cant even contact the people asking for the job to be done.
I’ll use the credit i have then i’m taking my business elsewhere, when i won’t get ripped off. Read all their reviews, a lot of tradesmen are complaining about them.
