## What is Raven Scout?

Raven Scout helps hunters turn property images, map screenshots, and scouting notes into practical hunt plans.

Upload an image, choose your species, and use AI-assisted analysis to identify useful terrain features, stand and blind opportunities, travel routes, funnels, bedding areas, feeding areas, access paths, and other hunt-planning details.

Raven Scout is built for hunters who want a clearer plan before stepping into the field.

Key features:
• Upload hunting maps, property images, or scouting screenshots
• Generate AI-assisted hunt analysis
• Review suggested stand, blind, trail, and terrain markers
• Save scouting records for future reference
• Use map style options for outdoor, satellite, topo, and terrain views
• Plan around species-specific hunting strategy
• Organize hunt planning in one mobile-first scouting app

Raven Scout currently supports deer, turkey, and hog analysis, with more species planned.

Raven Scout does not replace local laws, landowner permission, safe firearm handling, or hunter judgment. Always follow applicable hunting regulations and verify field conditions before hunting.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 4.0.0 — 2026-07-29

Scout Property just grew up. Scouting plans are now built from your own mapped properties, with recommendations that respect your boundaries, Known Hunt Locations, and actual acreage. We also fixed two map issues you’ll notice immediately in the field.

SCOUT FROM YOUR OWN MAP

Choose any property directly from your Map Library, complete with its saved boundaries, markers, and preferred basemap.

Don’t have a saved map yet? Use your current location, enter GPS coordinates, or open the new Interactive Map Builder. Pan and zoom to your ground, draw property boundaries and no-go zones, drop pins, and save everything as a reusable map for both scouting and hunt planning.

YOUR PROPERTY LINE IS THE LAW

Confirmed property boundaries now appear throughout the entire scouting workflow, including property selection, the map builder, and the final scouting plan.

Recommendations stay inside your boundary. Camera sectors stop at the property line, walking routes remain on your ground, and locations that fall outside the boundary are removed instead of being quietly relocated.

When no confirmed boundary exists, Raven Scout clearly explains that it is working from the captured map view and shows you how to draw one.

KNOWN LOCATIONS, EVERYWHERE

Your stands, blinds, cameras, feeders, scrapes, rubs, trails, water sources, parking areas, and access points now appear inside the scouting map builder.

Known Locations carry through to the final scouting map, offline packet, service loops, access routes, and planning engine. Raven Scout works around what you have already placed, includes existing cameras and feeders in service routes, and starts routes from your actual parking areas and gates.

Pins dropped while scouting can also be saved to Known Locations for future hunt planning without creating duplicates.

SEE YOUR PROPERTY’S ACREAGE

Properties with a drawn boundary now display their approximate acreage, calculated from the mapped polygon. Acreage appears in the map builder, Map Library, scouting summary, and final plan.

FIELD-READY MAP FIXES

• Fixed Android pinch-zoom so interacting with the map no longer scrolls the entire page.
• Moved the + and − zoom controls so they are no longer hidden behind the basemap selector.

Draw your line, drop your pins, and let the plan come to you. Good scouting.

### 3.4.0 — 2026-07-14

Version 3.4.0 is our biggest update since 3.1, bringing smarter hunt planning, trusted GPS, improved maps, and new tools for the field.

WHAT’S NEW

Raven learns from your hunts
Complete a quick post-hunt scorecard and Raven Scout can use your past results to improve future recommendations for the same property and species. See exactly how previous sightings, successful hunts, wind accuracy, and empty sits influenced each plan.

Trusted GPS recommendations
Every recommended stand, blind, route, and zone now includes usable GPS coordinates. Copy a coordinate, open it in Apple Maps or another map app, or export it to your GPS. Clear labels distinguish exact pins from the center point of larger zones.

KML and GPX import and export
Import property boundaries, stands, cameras, feeders, trails, and access points from KML or GPX files. Review imported items before using them, then export your hunt plans and selected recommendations for use in other mapping apps and GPS devices.

Weather-aware planning
Raven Scout now incorporates the forecast for your exact hunt window. Recommendations show the wind conditions that shaped them, identify wind-sensitive setups, and prioritize more resilient options. A new Hunt-Day Forecast strip displays temperature, wind, and conditions directly on your results.

Species-specific strategy
Plans now adapt to the species, season, movement patterns, habitat preferences, and hunting pressure involved. A new “Why this plan fits” section explains the strategy behind your recommendations.

Terrain and habitat intelligence
Raven Scout can identify and use habitat edges, funnels, pinch points, water crossings, and elevated observation areas. Use the new Terrain layer to view the land features behind the plan or hide them for a cleaner tactical map.

Sharper map analysis
Recommendations may now include a “Visually verified” badge when Raven confirms a location using a closer map view. Plans also identify areas to avoid and provide more transparent confidence scoring.

Smarter access routes
Routes now begin from realistic entry points such as gates, parking areas, pull-offs, and nearby roads. They account for scent direction and attempt to avoid no-go zones, neighboring property, danger zones, and other setups.

A cleaner, more accurate map
• One properly sized scent cone per stand
• Fewer overlapping or duplicated recommendations
• Distinct colors for different marker and overlay types
• Hybrid satellite and street basemap options
• Improved overlay selection and map centering
• Multiple map and overlay crash fixes

Built for the field
• Offline access to your plan, map snapshot, and markers
• Quick post-hunt scorecards from the results screen
• What-If analysis for different dates, times, and wind conditions
• Side-by-side saved plan variants
• Better handling of longer-running analyses

Reliability improvements
This release also includes faster and more stable analysis, automatic planner fallback, clearer upgrade messaging, stronger boundary checks, GPS verification, overlay deduplication, and numerous accuracy and performance improvements.

Your existing hunts, saved maps, markers, and history carry over automatically. No new settings are required.

Thanks for hunting with Raven Scout. Good luck out there.

### 3.1.0 — 2026-06-25

Raven Scout 3.1.0 is our biggest hunt-planning update yet, combining the GPS-first map upgrades from 3.0 with a smarter, deeper planning engine in 3.1.

What's New

GPS-first maps
The live map is now the source of truth. Your saved features, including feeders, stands, blinds, and markers, stay tied to real GPS coordinates and remain in place when you reload, rotate your phone, or resize the view. AI recommendations now render as real map points, paths, and zones instead of marks on a static screenshot.

Smarter hunt plans
Raven Scout now builds hunt plans in stages. It reads the terrain, considers animal movement, weighs weather, wind, and timing, then pulls everything together into a field-ready plan with clearer access, setup, wind, and timing guidance.

Recommendations that land where they belong
Recommended stands, blinds, paths, and zones now respect Raven Scout's GPS-first mapping system. Overlays, numbered recommendations, wind cones, and "Why this?" details stay aligned with the live map.

"Why this?" at a glance
Each hunt plan now includes a short, plain-English explanation of why the setup was recommended, including the terrain, conditions, wind, timing, and hunt notes that influenced the plan.

Better map experience
Hybrid map is now the default for new hunts, with a cleaner map picker order: Hybrid, Satellite, Topo, Land, and Outdoor. "The Plan" is now easier to find on the Map tab, and recommendation markers have clearer icons.

Re-Analyze & What-If
Adjust conditions and re-run an analysis to compare different setups without starting a new hunt from scratch.

Improved loading experience
The analyze screen now shows each planning stage as Raven Scout builds your hunt plan: reading your hunt area, checking terrain and movement, factoring weather and wind, building the plan, and finalizing map recommendations. On longer runs, a helpful "Almost there..." note appears while the plan finishes.

Reliability and performance
This release includes startup improvements, stability updates, iPad map-image crash fixes, and an automatic fallback that can return a classic single-pass analysis if the newer multi-stage planning flow has trouble completing.

Notes
Your existing hunts, saved maps, and markers carry over with no action needed. New hunt plans use the smarter planning engine automatically.

Thanks for using Raven Scout. Good luck out there.
