## What is Raving Manor?

You are on a drive home from the airport, anxious to see family. You take a shortcut you know only too well, and suddenly the rented vehicle dies. With no other choice, you start walking. But a sudden pounding rainstorm forces you to take shelter, and you head for an abandoned mansion. Before you know it, you are trapped. This is not your day - you must now escape from RAVING MANOR!

Raving Manor is a cross between a classic adventure game and a graphic novel. You must go through the manor, finding objects and clues that might help you with your escape, pitting your wits against the unknown. Will you find your way out?

Only time will tell, but everything you do is presented to you in a stylish manner. The game is designed to be friendly in a pick up and play manner, automatically saving progress in case life interrupts the adventure. The game also incorporates built in notes, allowing you to keep track of your predicament as you explore the haunted halls of Raving Manor.

As most people familiar with the Adventure Game genre already know, this is not an arcade type game but fun and challenging nonetheless. You can lose yourself within the not so hallowed walls of the Good Doctor's abode - as he did himself...

## Key features

### 5/5 — Clever game & lots of fun but...

*2011-04-27*

I definitely recommend this adventure game! True, it's much different than, say, the "Broken Sword" games, which were basically interactive movies. There, I was able simply to lie back and have fun.

Raving Manor, on the other hand, DEFINITELY requires the use of your brain cells. But once you're into the game a bit, it DOES get spookier and your motivation to solve tough puzzles definitely goes up. [but, compared to some of the "doozies" in "Antrim Escape" ( great game, but man, compared to THOSE puzzles, at least you won't be tempted to throw your iPhone against the wall, when you try & solve them lol!)

I would have given this 4 stars 5 but, I too, am experiencing a problem (bug?) with an item I had to temporarily "drop" which then proceeded to vanish (& with my luck, I'll just bet it's vital to finishing the game. Ha ha)

However, imho, easy access to "help" is a huge benefit. It's awesome that you DON'T have to "google" for hours trying to find a free walkthrough! Accessible help for an adventure game makes up for any other difficulties big time!

And...if you're really stuck, you can dependably count on the dev promptly responding to your emails. (I LOVE Indy developers! It's so personalized dealing with them)

OK ( SPOILER ALERT): (an edit here)to find tunnels, first go to basement. Just follow instructions on website. Once you're in, look for a certain famous tapestry in nearby room and simply "use" something on it to pull it down. Voila: tunnels.(as far as I remember you need "other" key to open. And to get "other" key...check help-site. Suffice to say that "several" steps are necessary...;)
To get flask, just go to lab ( as far as I remember). Then use flask with cheese to get mouse, which will, in turn find "blue, glinting" object for you.

I just sent off email to dev, but forgot to ask re: combinations to safe and trunk. Can ANYONE PLEASE,PLEASE assist with opening safe &/or trunk?

(i just read about the need for crowbar here. I too would love any hints on how to find it. Or is this just a rumor?;)

AGAIN ANY help getting these all important combinations will be much appreciated by many of us!

Thanks SO much!!!:) I'll return in kind if I can!

### 5/5 — Great!

*2009-12-26*

Tremenendous adventure game! Great interface! Keep them coming.

### 4/5 — A lot of potential if...

*2009-12-24*

First let me say I'm really enjoying this game so far. It's completely different from other strategy/puzzle apps
available presently. I like that there's no music. Although for atmospheres sake it might be fun (scary?) to
have sounds like the creaking noises etc. But perhaps only as an option that can be turned off.
Now is where I say why this didn't receive 5 stars: If you accidently drop an item it will not still be where it
fell. If you drop an item by mistake it will not go back to where you originally found it, which would have
made the most sense. Your only option is to write in your notes where and what you found. But that really
defeats the point of an inventory. Luckily I didn't drop an item I "made" like the shovel, but my guess
is the same thing would happen to it. I hope this can be fixed with an update. The other problem
is there is no starting screen to return to. Because I "lost" my items I had no choice but to delete
the game from my ipod (I decided to write this review before I put if back on my ipod) instead of starting over.
I really think this game has potential to be great with just a few improvements & I truly hope that
this is just one of many more like it to become available in the very near future!!

### 1/5 — Time Waster

*2009-08-27*

No music and difficult gameplay make this game a flop. Dont waste your time.

### 5/5 — Fun Game!

*2009-08-17*

Great mystery game. I really like the interaction and the way this game progresses. It's got that sleuth PI feel to it and suspense. It takes me back to when I had a Turbographics 16 system. They had a game like this but nowhere near as interesting.

@zen_breeze
