The fact that it uses optical stabilization, when Apple’s or Blackmagic’s apps can’t, is crazy. And CDNG is so much more convenient than ProRes Raw. I’m so surprised by finding this app. ### 4/5 — Very promising *2026-02-16* Bought the app as soon as I discovered it. I already knew about the limitations from a review by a YouTuber but decided to get it regardless. I think it does what most of us would like it to do and it performs reliably. I’m not having any issues with the stabilization so won’t update at the moment to lose that feature. However, I do have a request, please add a white balance lock feature, it’ll be an amazing addition. Thank you! ### 5/5 — True Raw! *2026-02-07* This is the only app I’m aware of with which you can record the true untouched raw signal from iPhone camera sensors. Even ProRes Raw on the 17 series is processed. I have 2 feature requests: 1. Please add gyro data logging into the files for stabilization with GyroFlow. 2. I understand there’s certain limits to this with the hardware and data wright/read speeds, but it would be great to see higher frame rate options like 60 FPS. **Developer response:** Thanks for the review! It needs to include gyro data for stabilization. Doesn’t seem to work with my Bluetooth shutter. I'm on 13 Pro (can't do Apple Log) and wanted to see what full Raw is like without Apples computational stuff (ProRaw). Absolutely astonishing quality out of a Phone camera. Be aware that the workflow is a bit more cumbersome. You have to convert .MCRAW files to CDNG and then to your editor (DaVinci for most people). Is it better than Apple Log? Not sure, but it's nice to have the option of both now. If you've got anything before Iphone 15 Pro that doesn't offer Log, it's absolutely worth it. ### 5/5 — RAW image sequence for Pros *2025-12-24* The app does as its states. When you take a photo with this app, the shutter sound plays continuously. RAW — это когда данные с сенсора передаются как есть, а не выкинув 2-4 бита. Auto white battle? Not very practical, needs to be manual and selective, also, I think that exposure isn’t fully manual either, I feel that it changes from time to time. Until those to things get addressed, I’ll continue using Blackmagic Design’s cam which works way more efficiently and results are more predictable, specially when shooting ProRes in all its available flavors including Raw. Thanks for the feedback! ### 3/5 — I NEED A BUG FIXED *2026-03-11* So I’m having issues while recording on a different storage device ,it says disk too slow or too full but I know that isn’t true cuz I’ve used it for much larger lengths of video on blackmagic camera app ,without this fix the app is really unusable for me due to internal storage issues CAN YOU GUYS PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. ### 3/5 — Wish there were more features! *2025-12-29* I love this app, but I’ve faced 2 issues using it on my iPhone 12 Pro 1. Recording on the 0.5 lens doesn’t work at any resolution unless I turn my frame rate all the way down to 18 FPS 2. Using MLV App does not work with this app. (Black screen video) I don’t know if it’s because of my phone but by using the MotionCam Tools app, it works perfectly fine. I prefer using the MLV App because I can export in ProRes 4444 ARRI Log C which is easier for my workflow. I find getting exactly a 1/48 shutter difficult as the increments are so fine. Saving my options the next time I open the app would also be nice too. Other than that the app is good enough to use. ### 3/5 — Concept is there but not the final product *2025-12-22* I love that developer made real raw accessible to iOS users, but I agree with other reviewers about their complains, but will also add that auto exposure should have exposure correction, and previewing on device and converting to cdng mcraw shots for better ux. UI can also take another look. If you ever had a BBMD Pocket Cinema Camera or Micro Cinema Camera, same workflow but now you got Gyroflow data which is amazing. Definitely an app for Harcorde Davinici Studio users, which is why I switched over for the first time to IPhone with the 16 Pro Max, I was sold on the ProRes 422 codecs it had available, I was unhappy when the new IPhone 17 came with ProRes Raw and did not make it available to earlier compatible iPhone models. This app changed everything, definitely worth every penny. I’m so happy true raw video is here, even for me as an iPhone 15 pro max user! There are still occasional freezes when switching lenses after adjusting settings but I haven’t used it on anything mission critical yet but the potential and development is here and I am excited. Oh and gyroflow was just added and it’s open gate capable??
