## What is rawcast?

Your weather, rendered in monospace.

rawcast is a weather app built for people who live in terminals. Real-time conditions, hourly and 10-day forecasts, animated radar, and severe weather alerts -- all drawn with ASCII art, box-drawing characters, and block-character sparklines. One-time purchase. No ads. No tracking.

Now -- current conditions at a glance: temperature, feels-like, wind, humidity, UV index, and a 60-minute precipitation timeline.

Hourly -- 24-hour forecast with temperature sparklines built from Unicode block characters.

Forecast -- 10-day outlook with high/low ranges, condition icons, and precipitation probability.

Radar -- animated ASCII radar with procedural precipitation echoes rendered as text-density maps.

Alerts -- active severe weather alerts from the National Weather Service, delivered as push notifications.

Phosphor -- classic green-on-black, the one that started it all.
Amber -- warm IBM 3278 monochrome glow.
Cyanide -- cool cyan inspired by SGI workstations.
Redline -- high-contrast red for dark environments.

Midnight -- deep navy with soft blue text.
Matrix -- digital rain green, because someone had to.

---- CRT EFFECTS ----

Optional scanline overlay and phosphor glow simulate a real cathode-ray tube. Animated rain and snow particles fall across the display. Effects auto-disable on older devices to preserve frame rate.

---- VIM COMMAND BAR ----

Type to navigate. Switch views, change locations, toggle themes -- all from a command bar inspired by modal text editors. Tap works too.

Home Screen, Lock Screen, and StandBy widgets display current conditions in your chosen theme. Updated in the background so your weather is always fresh.
