## What is RawSignal?

Share a message, screenshot, PDF, photo, or URL — or paste from the clipboard, or point the camera. RawSignal turns it into plain text you can clean, extract, translate, or rewrite, then call, map, share out, or paste.

Capture. Transform. Act. A temporary pipe between apps, not a notes inbox.

WHY A PIPE, NOT A CHATBOT

Getting one clean phone number out of a messy email shouldn't take eleven taps and a conversation. RawSignal turns everyday text work into single-tap transformations: capture text from anywhere, tap a transformation, preview the result, and accept it, discard it, or refine it with a follow-up instruction. Your original text is never overwritten — RawSignal is the safe staging area iOS never gave you.

FREE, FOREVER

• The Scratchpad — a fast, distraction-free staging area for the text you're working on right now
• Capture from anywhere — the iOS Share Sheet, PDFs, files, and any URL you paste
• The camera button — point it at a poster, a receipt, a whiteboard. OCR runs automatically and the text lands in your scratchpad. No photo is saved
• Built-in Smart Actions — clean up OCR text, extract key details, tidy a list, make data readable, convert to Markdown, draft a reply, translate. Requires Apple Intelligence, on-device: private, instant, no key
• Open Links — RawSignal spots links, email addresses, phone numbers, and street addresses in any text and turns each into a one-tap action. Address → Apple Maps. Number → call or message. Link → browser
• Private by design — your text stays on your device

RAWSIGNAL PRO — ONE PURCHASE, YOURS FOREVER

• Archive — every capture and transformation, searchable. You control how long it's kept: a day, a week, a month, a year, forever, or off — nothing retained at all.
• iCloud sync — your scratchpad and archive on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Encrypted on your device before upload — end-to-end with Advanced Data Protection on. It lives in your personal iCloud, never on our servers — we don't have any
• Saved prompts — write your own AI instructions once, then run them with one tap. "Extract all phone numbers, format in E.164, output comma-separated" becomes a prompt you can pin as a favorite
• Bring Your Own Key — connect OpenAI, Anthropic, or any compatible provider and pay wholesale token prices. Most transformations cost fractions of a cent. Your key is stored in the Keychain and synced securely across your devices
• Local models — point RawSignal at Ollama or LM Studio, or run the on-device Gemma model with no server at all
• Smarter Open Links — AI-enhanced recognition of hard-to-parse phone numbers and addresses, plus ready-made contact and calendar-event candidates. RawSignal proposes, you confirm with one tap
• More worth spotting — IBANs, ISBNs, coordinates, tickers, and parcel tracking, with checksums keeping look-alikes out
• App Lock — require Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode before anyone can read your scratchpad
• The terminal — a CLI (brew install) pipes text from your Mac's command line through your own iCloud sync
• Family Sharing — one purchase covers up to six people

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Buy once, own it. RawSignal is a one-time purchase because a text utility with no servers has no business charging rent. There is no subscription, no account, no tracking, and no data collection — there is nothing to collect it with.

AI without a meter. The built-in transformations run on Apple Intelligence, on your device, and cost nothing — no key, no account, no per-message fee. Pro adds your own API key at wholesale rates, or a model running entirely on your own hardware.

—

Notes: Cloud AI sends your text to the provider you configure. Cloud models require your own API key from a supported provider (a free in-app guide walks you through it). Built-in Smart Actions require a device that supports Apple Intelligence. The CLI requires macOS; syncing it with your other devices requires RawSignal Pro.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.3.2 — 2026-09-05

What's New in 1.3.2:

- Faster everywhere: link, phone number, and tracking-number detection got a major speed boost, so typing, saving, and launch all feel snappier, especially on longer notes.
- Read URL now always asks first, with a confirmation prompt pre-filled from your clipboard, so nothing is fetched until you approve it. It also now handles pages up to 25 MB.
- Fixed a sync edge case where an unsynced local edit could be silently overwritten by a conflicting change from another device.
- Notes and archive entries over the sync size limit now show a clear on-screen marker instead of failing silently.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-09-01

Minor fixes:
- The text cursor is no longer hidden behind the status bar. On an empty note the caret sat level with the clock and was clipped by the screen's rounded corner; it now starts below the status bar, as does the first line of text.
- The start screen no longer runs off the top of the screen when the keyboard is open. On smaller devices the logo could disappear entirely and the capture buttons ended up under the status bar. The layout now fits the space the keyboard leaves.
- Toolbar: the More menu's Paste item now disables when the clipboard has nothing pasteable, matching the main Paste button - previously it was always tappable regardless of clipboard state.
- Accessibility: on the intro screen's last page, VoiceOver no longer lands on a dimmed, non-functional "Skip" button.
