However, when their server is down (for days at a time) you can’t connect. ### 2/5 — Goodish if it actually works *2025-05-24, version 1.29* Apps works decently well but has some kinks. Some what intuitive. It can be improved with a scheduled feature. App currently doesn’t work and it seems like can’t connect to the server. Makes the whole reason why I got this pool heater pointless as it’s for a rental property so I am always remote. ### 1/5 — Pool Heat Pump *2024-05-25, version 1.29* I have a RayPak Crosswind heat pump for my pool, and I was hoping the RayMote app would make managing it easier. Unfortunately, this app is poorly designed and implemented. Despite being advertised as compatible, the connection instructions and process did not work, leaving me unable to connect to my heat pump. Very disappointed. ### 2/5 — Nice start, still buggy *2023-08-25, version 1.26* I am in Canada, show the temperature is shown in C. However, when I try to adjust it, the new value will be sent in F, causing the water heater to drop its current target temperature to the minimal. However it lacks alot of features that are sometimes available on the web format. also alot of bugs, like being able to change the temperature to celcius ### 2/5 — Don’t recommend *2023-07-29, version 1.26* We bought the new Avia pool heater to remotely troubleshoot and heat our cottage, to find out that we cannot reset and faults remotely. Someone physically have to press and hold the service button. Also no option to see any analysis about heating time in the app. I believe you must use some web dashboard . I don’t recommend this app nor the Raypak Avia heater. Greatly disappointed as we got two issues already right after installation. ### 3/5 — Great but unfulfilled potential *2023-06-10, version 1.26* It is great that I can change the temperature from my phone but I find it strange that it is not Alexa or Google compatible. Hopefully this will come in a future release (hopefully soon). There’s so much more that could be added like gas used or graphs of the temperature in the pool over time. This would allow us to better determine the best way to heat our pool. For example set and forget it or only have the heater a few hours before we may want to use the pool. ### 1/5 — Issue with this app *2022-09-25, version 1.24* Like many others, my new heater just says “Getting device info” endlessly. I called them and was told they have been getting many calls about this. Fix the app Raypak! ### 1/5 — No support *2022-09-19, version 1.24* My app has been hung up ‘getting device info’ every time I’ve tried to link my heater. I have 1gb internet with an extender right next to the heater. When I connect my phone beside the heater I’m getting 300mbps downloads and 50mbps up, so it’s not an issue with a slow connection. When calling Raypak’s customer service Linwood they say they won’t talk to anyone other than dealers or service techs. That’s a crappy thing to do to a customer that just spent $5000 dollars getting a heater installed stallled. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Buyer Beware!!! *2026-07-01, version 1.32* DO NOT purchase products from Raypak. We’ve had a pool heater we purchased from them 3 years ago and we’ve only been able to use it for 10 days total in that time. We’ve had companies out who have tried to warranty out the pool heater and they won’t cover anything! This company sells faulty products and don’t stand by their products! DO NOT PURCHASE ITEMS FROM THIS COMPANY!!! ### 1/5 — Did not last 12 months. *2026-05-16, version 1.31* Installed 12 months Ago. Used 6 months. Now leaks from the bottom. Fan will not engage. 3 year warranty. Ha! What about the one year. Warranty department has never returned my emails. $3,500 waste. ### 1/5 — Poorly designed with minimal functionality *2025-06-02, version 1.29* I wanted to like this but am very disappointed. Honestly, an easy to mess up slide for pool temperature, like you’re dimming a light? That’s just dumb. It should not let you change more than one degree at a time then ask for confirmation when you’re done changing the setting. Also, on the panel, there’s so much more information and settings than are available in this app. If you’re going to go through the trouble to design in wifi, why not make it a near replica of the panel functionality? I also have a Pentair Easytouch and it provides so much more capability for its functions than this does. ### 1/5 — Amateur hour *2025-05-25, version 1.29* These guys let their domain expire and now the app is garbage and no way to reach support ### 1/5 — Doesn't work after iOS update *2025-05-24, version 1.29* App no longer functions with latest update or iOS ### 1/5 — Awesome, until it’s not *2025-05-24, version 1.29* Got a new pool heater and was pumped when I found out it had an app. I downloaded and connected my phone and the heater and for about a week was able to control the temp settings for the pool. All of the sudden when I open the app it started telling me it was unable to connect and to check my internet connection. Well my wifi is operating fine, everything else on wifi is working, display on heater shows it’s connected to the network but the app continues to give me the error. I can’t even get into any sort of settings on the app. That box pops up as soon as I open the app and the only thing it will let me do it click on “retry” where it proceeds to give me the same error. So I tried deleting the app and its data from the phone and reinstalling. So now I can’t get past the login screen, I input my username and password and it gives me a “Can’t connect to host” error. All in all pretty frustrating. Especially since the display panel on the heater itself requires multiple steps just to get to settings to change the temp and I’m not sure how complicated it will be to try to set up a timer to moderate the heater running. Please fix these bugs!! ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2025-05-24, version 1.29* This app connected fine and worked the first day. Woke up the next day and it says no connection and won’t do anything else. The display on the heater says connected but the app says it’s not. There is no trouble shooting available. Just not working. I use the app to control my Raypak Avia 264 natural gas heater and have had zero issues with communication between the two. Love both the pool heater and the associated iPhone app - zero issues!
