Mauvais visualisateur *2022-09-03, version 1.3.8* Ne pas acheter de produits Raymarine est peut être le meilleur conseil que je peux donner. Leur qualité est de moins en moins bonne et les produits ne sont pas fiables. Mon voilier est 100% équipé des derniers produits de cette firme. En gros, traceurs qui ne supporte pas la pluie (même très faible), pilote automatique pas fiable (le P70s ou le EV1 ) pas très robuste. Sans compter les logiciels d’emprise à distance des MFD.. totalement INUTILE … plus ils font des mises à jour, pire il est … ### 1/5 — Why build something so bad *2022-07-24, version 1.3.8* How the ergonomics if this app ever got through quality control is amazing. To be unable to see what you are doing with the control panel on the screen you were viewing is a design stuff-up of mega proportions. Also, why can we not connect over Wifi when all devices are on the same network? Connecting to the MFD’s Wifi has no network connectivity. On a connected yacht, it’d be nice to remain connected. ### 1/5 — Useless and can’t get rid of it *2021-11-18, version 1.3.8* Set up this app and my MFD to connect by WiFi, but the app continues to say it cannot find my MFD. Raymarine technician says I did everything correctly, so puzzled why it wasn’t hooking up. But as an earlier reviewer remarked, once the app cannot find the MFD, there is no way to get it to stop looking. The only choice is to REPEAT the search. I tried to stop it by shutting my iPhone down, but when I restarted the phone the app was still searching. Deleting the app from my homepage did nothing, and deleting it completely did nothing; it is still “in the cloud” and when it comes back it is still in search mode. Presumably this would prevent me from trying to hook up by Bluetooth, which one must do in order to use the app while sailing and away from your WiFi. After reading earlier reviews, it appears the app is useless anyway, since you cannot both see the chart and the controls simultaneously (I can’t vouch for this since I can’t get that far.) Save yourself the grief of trying to get it to work. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2021-11-07, version 1.3.8* There is no way to close this app once it’s opened, you have to reboot your phone. On an iPad it is better but drops the connection if you minimize the app to switch over to weather or something else. For example, I can view the screen and see AIS traffic, but I can’t pull up AIS info without leaving the flying bridge and using the MFD. It is clear that Raymarine’s main interest is to sell me another overpriced MFD. ### 1/5 — Really? *2021-08-01, version 1.3.8* If the app doesn’t find your mfd, it’s locked in a loop of “do you want to retry?” There is no “no” option and no swiping up to force-quit the app. You have to do a hard restart of your phone. How did Raymarine or even apple let this get through? ### 1/5 — Insulting *2021-05-21, version 1.3.8* Having just parted with £1k+ for my mfd I find that the advertised remote app is utterly useless & unusable (see the other reviews) Clearly, cynically designed to push owners into buying another instrument when led to believe an existing tablet would fill the role. Shameful! ### 1/5 — Junk *2021-05-01, version 1.3.8* Raymarine chart plotters are great. Top of the line equipment, maybe the best there currently is. I have spent more on their equipment than some people spend on a car. I like their hardware. And yet they supply with their superb chart plotters this wholly inadequate piece of junk app. It is unusable. It means people like me end up buying multiple Raymarine chart plotters to get the connectivity needed because this app will make you throw your iPad in the sea in frustration. The app has not been updated (at the time of this review) for three years. That’s inexcusable. The sooner new tech startups get into gear (check out Orca for example) the sooner Raymarine will have to get off their lazy super-profitable backsides and develop usable tablet software. Shameful Raymarine, shameful. ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2021-04-12, version 1.3.8* I mistakingly recently purchased several Raymarine products for my 36' sailboat, after using this app it's horrendous. Called the manufacture in January they said "a brand new working app would be released within weeks" Still no app update in 5 months. The worst marine navigation equipment manufacture bar none. Support is useless and they even lie. I will never purchase another raymarine product! ### 1/5 — Used to work great. Now horrible. *2021-01-06, version 1.3.8* This used to be a decent app allowing some control and views remotely. Now view of map screen only with no remote control (that works anyway). Please fix/update Raymarine. ### 1/5 — The worst *2020-10-24, version 1.3.8* This is an absolutely useless app. You can either view, or you can control (kind of), but not both. When I switch to the remote control I can’t see the screen, and therefore have no idea where I am in the menu system or what I’m selecting. If I’m close enough to the main unit to see the screen then why wouldn’t I just use the main unit? The whole point is to be able to be in a different location on the boat and use my iPhone to access the features. I’d have to set everything up on the flybridge and then use the view were in the cabin helm, but if I ever needed to zoom in or change any setting I’d have to walk up to the flybridge. Ridiculous. ### 1/5 — As useful as a chair with two legs! *2020-08-25, version 1.3.8* Not very! If you aren't in front of your MFD you could use it to view what's on the screen... OR If you are in front of the screen you could use it as a control pad (it's beyond me why you would bother)... But you can't sensibly use it as a remote version of your MFD - perhaps that is by design. Bottom line - it's fuseless! ### 1/5 — Awful. Worse than useless. *2020-07-21, version 1.3.8* Who allowed this crap to be published? Your phone screen is EITHER a virtual joystick / d-pad OR the displayed content e.g. plotter / radar. Not both. So to move the crosshairs on the say chartplotter you have to switch to a joystick, do it blindfolded & guess where you're moving it, then switch back to see if it did something like what you wanted! ( crying with laughter and frustration at same time ). Pouvez-Vous nous remette l’ancienne SVP ? ### 1/5 — Horrible *2026-07-03, version 1.3.8* Incredibly lousy: - when searching for a device not found it hangs, no way to kill it - no touch screen remote control it says “not supported”: really, iPhone nor supported? - no way to connect with the phone and the axiom connected to the boat’s WiFi Given what Raymarine charges for Axiom devices this is infuriating ### 1/5 — Unbrauchbar und unzuverlässig *2026-06-13* Trotz aktueller Software auf allen beteiligten Geräten (iPhone 15 Pro Max) und Axiom Plus) gelingt das Fernbedienen nur sporadisch. Die App erkennt trotz vorhandener WLAN-Verbindung zum Plotter dieses Gerät nur sporadisch. Als Fernbedienung des angeschlossenen Autopilots daher völlig ungeeignet. Hier sollte unbedingt nachgebessert werden. Won’t connect with 2024 axiom with all software updates.Since it is unable to connect, it keeps asking to retry. You can’t even stop the app, Had to shut down and restart iPhone just to regain control of iPhone. ### 1/5 — This app is one of the reasons I won’t purchase Raymarine equipment anymore *2024-11-14, version 1.3.8* This app is a waste of time, it doesn’t work smoothly and it won’t connect through a Starlink router. Meaning that if my iPad is connected to the chart-plotter the iPad won’t have any internet connectivity. Please fix this problem Raymarine! Your lack of commitment to making this existing product line work is exactly why I won’t be purchasing the new product line! ### 1/5 — Useless control not possible *2023-09-11* The whole point is to remote control the Axiom. But you cannot, you have to switch to the control view but the you cannot see the Axiom screen thus you cannot see what you do. If i have to sit next to the MFC, there is no point of remote control. Basically all you can do is view it. Fix this Raymarine. Others are way ahead of you. Also PC/Mac remote control is needed. Every boater has a laptop on board which is much better to use compared to tablets, especially for planing etc. In this state the app is useless. ### 1/5 — Unbrauchbar *2023-07-13* Wieso stellt man so einen Schrott in den App Store und lässt es seit Jahren ohne merkliche Entwicklung drin? Ich verstehe so ein Gebaren nicht. Mit der App kann man ein Axiom fernsteuern, aber man muss das Axiom sehen, weil die Steuerung in der App den ganzen Bildschirm einnimmt. Aber wenn ich das Axiom eh vor mir habe, wozu sollte ich es dann mit der App bedienen???? Took a while to figure this out. ### 5/5 — Great Ap! *2014-02-06, version 1.3* I've been using this ap now for almost a year. I have an E127. To date, I've had no freezes or inoperative moments. This is a VERY stable interface. The initial setup went pretty smooth with my Iphone 5. Initially go into plotter and turn in wifi and set up the particulars. Then, you just have to tell the plotter that you want to use the RAY Remote. After that then go into wifi and grab plotters network. I would like to see some basic touch screen function on the viewer screen the touch control on the iphone is very good especially with the added room on iphone5. Or maybe the controls could be overlaid and transparent. ### 2/5 — Utterly useless, unless you only want viewing or a remote control *2026-01-29, version 1.3.8* I had to try it to believe how bad it really was. It does work fine as a viewer, so the exact screen that’s on the mfd will be shown. But as mentioned in other reviews, you are unable to edit or control anything whatsoever because once you attempt to do so a “control screen” will pop-up that fills the full screen, with a mouse to control and click with the cursor, but it fills the entire screen so you can’t see what you are doing. So you could potentially also use it as a remote to control the cursor on the plotter while looking at the actual plotter rather than your phone screen. But it definitely does not turn your phone or tablet into sort of a secondary mfd, which I think is what most people are expecting from this app, and something that should be technically possible with the right control interface. ### 2/5 — Terrible app *2025-08-07, version 1.3.8* As others have noted, it is ridiculous not to be able to view the screen while interacting with it. This could be a very useful app to mirror and remote control an Axiom MFD, but as is it is a complete fail. I have successfully installed and connected to my Axiom 12 MFD, but the display on my iphone is not interactive at all!
