### 2/5 — Paperless Billing?

*2022-10-28, version 4.1.1*

Really frustrated about the paperless billing feature. I don’t know how many times I’ve selected to enroll in paperless billing on both the website and the app. I’ve even called customer service to be sure I am enrolled. However, it keeps reverting back to not enrolled. Not sure if this is a database issue or not. I’ve kind of given up on this aspect. Unfortunate that this bug exists. Imagine how much the company would save in paper costs and postage if this feature actually worked on the app and website.

### 1/5 — RCN needs help

*2021-06-28, version 4.0.3*

I’m getting error messages on my user name and password as other users have stated. Also, when I go to the automated system when the app and website fail, it doesn’t say your current balance BEFORE you pay.

Please hire some UX Researchers + UX Designers to help make this a quick, easy, and seamless user experience on the app and on your website. Users should not be frustrated trying to complete basic tasks. It seems like the user experience is not a priority, and developers are thinking with an inside out approach.

### 1/5 — Cannot copy/paste credit card number

*2021-06-18, version 4.0.3*

I have sent a message via Twitter direct message to RCN every month since November 2020 asking them to please and enable copy paste a credit card into this app… They have replied every time we will pass this on to the development team and thank me for my comment.… This app is absolutely in the 19th century… I find it absolutely unbelievable that the development team cannot add this functionality to the app since they have at least known since November 2020… RCN is a great service, I love RCN, so it’s surprising that mobile app is absolutely horrible…I am now leaving this public review in the hope that the RCN development team actually listens to the customers using their app… Let’s see how long they can ignore this simple development request

### 1/5 — RCN still in the 20th century

*2021-05-27, version 4.0.3*

This app is a waste of time! All you can do is pay your bill. What I would like to see is what Xfinity/ Comcast has on their app. I would like to interface with my router, router status, change my WiFi password and or router name. Come on RCN! Catch up!

### 2/5 — Look somewhere else you will get better service

*2021-01-20, version 4.0.3*

Won’t be coming back to this company again. The costumer service is rude over the phone an it ain’t worth it I can only connect 1 or 2 devices to the 5g and have it work. Every time the weather change it acts up. I’ll take my service somewhere else hope you do too

### 3/5 — Needs improvements

*2021-01-03, version 4.0.3*

I know RCN is a local business, but that doesn’t mean it Can have a nice modern app with all option today’s app offer.

- I would like to be able to request service from the app without calling
- Chat with a representative
- Have all RCN contact options (customer support)
- Save payment account number and be able to use Apple Pay
-have full control of profile and home devices
Routes for ex.

Please improve the app. I’ve been a customer for a while and this app seem not to change a lot with the time.

Thank you.

### 2/5 — Very limited

*2020-09-11, version 3.0.0*

The MyRCN / RCN mobile app is very limited. Basically it only allows to view / pay your bill and change login info / settings. Also, it hasn’t been updated in over two years, so it only supports the smaller phone screens, not the larger iPhone X or newer..

RCN: It’s time you released an appropriate update. It’s 2020 and the app should offer way more than it currently does. I suggest adding:

- larger screen support
- full overview of the currently subscribed plan with all the info (internet speed, phone and cable package if applicable)
- modem restart feature
- Internet speed test feature
- in app chat support
- feedback tab within the app
- company phone number with direct call option from within the app

### 1/5 — Thiefs

*2020-05-15, version 3.0.0*

They charge a credit card fee tell you to use the app to pay but don’t even bother. You have no other way to pay, the app is completely from the 90s and it will not log you in. It won’t even let you press enter to login. So sick of this company and it’s crap. I’m stuck with them because the building I live in is forced to use them.

### 1/5 — Deleted after ten minutes

*2020-04-17, version 3.0.0*

This app is completely useless, except for making one-time payments and viewing basic account information (your name and address). You can’t see payment history, download statements, check autopay settings, or contact customer service. Ultimately, I decided that it’s at best a waste of disk space, but at worst a security liability, and just removed it entirely.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2020-04-17, version 3.0.0*

Pretty simple - this app is terrible. This app literally has nothing to offer. I’d give it No stars if I could.

This app along with “randomly” (probably in the small print of contract) increasing prices...not the best company

#1. After signing in, the only options I get are:
- Settings in the upper right
- Billing information

#2. When I tap settings, I get my info. However, my address is not correct... from 5 years ago. So I tap edit. I cannot edit my:
- User name
- Name
- Service address

#3. When I tap Billing information, I get nothing. Simply a white screen with Statements on the top. I tried swiping up, down, left, right... waiting... nothing.

### 1/5 — RCN payment /charge method

*2020-04-04, version 3.0.0*

Every month I calculate my bills& have no problem paying them on time. RCN charges 5$ to pay your bill directly to them through there whole system; while every other company is free, 2.00$ so of course I’ll go the cheaper route! Now my bills says pay on the 17th of the month & I do, have receipt of payment & RCN sends a late fee & attaches it to my next billing cycle & that bill is not even due yet; nor is it LATE! How can a company charge a late fee on something that’s not late? They don’t even relinquish the old PAID bill , to start new they just sends out the same bills with the old/New charges & a late fee attached. RCN fix you process; because it’s unprofessional & unconstitutionally wrong!!!!

### 2/5 — Push notifications

*2019-12-29, version 3.0.0*

This app hasn’t been update over a year ago it’s unbelievable that RCN didn’t add push notifications on this app to let us know when bill is available and payment it’s made

### 1/5 — Worst App

*2019-12-18, version 3.0.0*

Haven’t been able to view my statement, or pay my bill on the app or even website in over a year. Claim to save money for your customers by having the app and paying through there or the website but it’s impossible since it doesn’t work! Cool way to get an extra 4.50 every time. How do you provide a service to thousands of people and don’t have a working website or app. If I could give RCN negative reviews I would. 🚮🚮🚮

### 3/5 — Log out flaw

*2019-11-20, version 3.0.0*

BEWARE: When you quit the app it does NOT log you out. The next time you start the app you will still be logged in. You have to manually log out. This is bad practice. App should log the user out if it crashes or if user quits.

### 2/5 — Chat Option

*2019-11-10, version 3.0.0*

I love when an app gives me the experience to be able to chat with a representative instead of having to go to their website. While it does serve the purpose of being able to pay your bill, it would be nice if there were some added features.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — terrible

*2023-01-27, version 4.1.1*

I’ve had to reset my PW 3x bc it keeps telling me my info is incorrect. This happened for 3 months now every time I try to pay my bill. Also, when I finally get logged in I have to re enter my payment info. why can’t it save that information?

### 1/5 — “Some server error occurred”

*2022-10-23, version 4.1.1*

The app doesn’t work and I can’t do the one thing the app usually can do: pay my bill.

### 1/5 — Lackluster

*2022-05-21, version 4.1.1*

I already miss Wow. The RCN app and website are nearly useless. Great, I can pay my bill. That is it.

### 1/5 — App is lackluster plus phone number in app leads to a adult hotline

*2022-03-31, version 4.1.0*

Other internet providers apps let you see what’s connected to your network, see the data usage and even send a refresh signal to your modem. All this app allows you to do is check your monthly bill. Also the phone numbers in their Terms of of Conditions brings you to a adult hotline. Very unprofessional. I called customer service from a number on Google and they didn’t care when I brought forward this issue. I wish I could give a 0 star review

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2022-02-28, version 4.1.0*

The most stupid and convoluted app I have experienced. Enough said.

### 1/5 — no list of calls and no billing statements through out the length of service

*2022-01-30, version 4.1.0*

app does not give all accurate phone calls going and incoming nor the timing of calls placed are accurate all billing statements should be available through the service year

### 1/5 — Scum

*2022-01-29, version 4.1.0*

Scum that runs RCN basically asked Apple to delete all the bad ratings but what they don’t realize is that I’ll come right back they deliver the handicap this apps that you have no other option but to turn on auto pay this is a fact no matter what support says in the comments. You will also find this out for yourself once you download the app.

### 1/5 — App no longer working

*2022-01-28, version 4.1.0*

This app no longer connects. It give an error in a pop up box stating “Some server error occurred.” No other explanation. I have been unable to log into the app for a few days now. Probably since the last update and when the name changed to Astound Broadband powered by RCN.

### 1/5 — New update doesn’t work

*2022-01-19, version 4.1.0*

When I log into the app it says “some service error occurred” tried reinstalling the app and kept getting that.

### 1/5 — RCN User

*2021-09-20, version 4.0.3*

The network are scammers, no efficiency, poor customers relationships and response. Calling RCN is just like a waste of time, you will be waiting on the phone for the next 25 minutes and it will just hung up on you.
Poor network signals at all times, I will forever regret using this rubbish called a Internet Network Service.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Simple and user friendly app

*2022-04-01, version 4.1.0*

I had good experience using app. It’s simple to use and I was able to accomplish what I wanted to do. Thanks.

### 5/5 — You can not copy/paste.

*2022-02-21, version 4.1.0*

There was a very, seemingly purposefully, bad design where you couldn’t paste text in to the app. Always a assumed it was to try and force you to set up auto pay. But after literally YEARS of this they changed the app and low it works. So 5 stars to you RCN… err I mean Astound I guess?

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2018-12-11, version 3.0.0*

This app is so easy to use and convenient! I wish all my bill payment apps were this functional, I can see my statements, pay my bills, update information, no complaints.

### 5/5 — New update fixes app crash

*2015-06-02, version 2.1.2*

I contacted RCN's support team via the RCN website and made them aware of the issue. Now there is a new update and all is well. I don't need all the extra bells and whistles with this RCN app. I only need to pay my bill. June 1st update -- works just fine for my needs. Thanks RCN.

### 4/5 — Allow to use Apple Pay.

*2021-02-28, version 4.0.3*

App does what it is suppose to do for me, which is making a payment via mobile.

My only feedback is to implement Apple Pay to the app. Majority of users are using iPhone now days along with Apple Pay, which is a simple click that already has my CC info. Instead, I actually had to type in my CC # again on the RCN app.

Other than that, its a basic app that works for my need!

### 4/5 — Convenient but could use some updating

*2017-02-25, version 2.2.0*

The app works great when it comes to paying my bill and it saves me the extra dollar that it would cost to pay from a computer. There is one thing I wish they would change however. It would be nice if there was an option to save my billing info so I don't have to grab my card every time I have to pay my bill. I have a tendency to remember to pay my bill when my card is no where near me so it would be a bit more convenient if this were an option.

### 4/5 — Fairly useful

*2014-12-03, version 1.1.0*

I got this primarily to check voice mail which works fairly well. The app crashes when I am on my WiFi network and delete a message but deletes fine when I am on the cellular network.

### 4/5 — Unable to enter card info

*2013-07-08, version 1.1.0*

It doesn't let me choose what kind of credit card I have or put in the date of the card. I would love if this worked so I could pay my bill easily. Thanks

### 3/5 — Decent but want Apple Pay and support for password managers

*2021-12-13, version 4.0.3*

I’d like to see the app include Apple Pay as an option for bill payment. Plus, this app doesn’t seem to support password managers such as LastPass.

### 3/5 — Minor bugs

*2021-01-26, version 4.0.3*

Wish there was a way to contact the developers so I’m going to mention the bugs here. I can’t update my billing info in-app because the “apartment” field is required, had to go onto the website. Unfortunately the mobile site doesn’t display very well, either. Otherwise, does what it’s supposed to, at least for me - shows my balance and lets me pay. Can’t see the fine print on the final confirmation screen, though.
