Most of the time I'm not able to control the ffwd to pause or play using the remote. It keeps having to reconnect and then even when it does reconnect, remote isn't working properly. It just keeps ffwding. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2021-01-16, version 1.4.4* It was a great app and not all I get is the option to reload. It goes nowhere and is just stuck. I miss having it work. Not sure what happened. Please fix it. PLEASE FIX this app. The fact that it no longer works is remarkably FRUSTRATING !! Update seemed great but the app only worked once and now I can’t get into it. Please fix. This so FRUSTRATING. ### 1/5 — Terrible app & RCN won’t help *2021-01-08, version 1.3.7* Have never liked the app but has worked well enough...until a few weeks ago. Kept giving me a message that I can’t stream/watch away from when I was literally sitting in my living room on internet provided by RCN!!!! Called RCN support. The agent said he wasn’t familiar with the app but would open a case and I could expect a call within 48 hours. That was about 3 weeks ago... ### 1/5 — App not responding *2021-01-08, version 1.3.7* Initially, it gave message stating not on same wifi, which was incorrect. Then finally started to connect. Was working well until recently. I am disappointed, especially when we pay so much for cable service. If you want to offer this service, fix it! I’ve been trying for weeks to get this to even load. It won’t. The last time I did succeed was months ago, but even then you can’t watch anything outside of your home, so what’s the point of this app. Worthless. I will definitely be switching carriers. ### 1/5 — Twitter , email and calls regarding this frozen application *2021-01-01, version 1.3.7* The app just spins since December 10. Have contacted rcn over several media and same answer. The remote controls break within 2 weeks and take forever to change. With the app it would travel via the network and was dependable. Now this removes ability to select channels or use smart TV. Will minimize my rcn to check out competitors. Powering down the devices, updating the apps, completely deleting and reinstalling them, etc., etc. Every other streaming service works on these devices, so I know the issue is RCN2GO. I pay for additional news channels that I need to access for work. I’m certainly not getting my money’s worth! ### 1/5 — Not working *2020-12-29, version 1.3.7* The app is not working. I did re-downloaded but still get a black screen with button stating RELOAD but that button doesn’t work either. I am using iPhone & iPad with iOS 14.1. I have sent email to with picture of the non working app to Jackie at rcn. ### 1/5 — No longer works *2020-12-26, version 1.3.7* This app, while ancient, used to allow you to at least schedule recordings. It hasn’t been updated in 2 years and no longer works as of December 2020. Rcn must do something for the price they charge for cable and internet! ### 1/5 — App stopped working *2020-12-26, version 1.3.7* Interface is not very stable but when working it is fine for recording shows. Every so often it won’t connect even when I delete the app and reload it. Right not it is just looping trying to “reload” and reconnect. Nothing happens. I've tried to delete it from the devices and re-download it but when I open the app it still doesn't even open to a page that allows me to login. Contacted rcn customer service and they're unable to help at all. Then intimated that since it's a "free service" I can't have any discount on my bill for the app not working ### 1/5 — Doesn't work *2020-12-24, version 1.3.7* This app flat out doesn't work anymore. I used to be able to stream recorded shows to my phone but that no longer works. Even when it was working it was barely functional and would continuously disconnect or crash. This app is trash. ### 1/5 — Literally doesn’t work *2020-12-17, version 1.3.7* I have the newest iOS and version of this app. The app crashes every time I open a show from My Shows. Older versions were also not great but they at least functioned. This is completely useless. ### 1/5 — Piece of S &@ Shuts Cable Down *2020-12-12, version 1.3.7* This app not only is useless but actually shuts my cable box down. when I try to stream to my iPad while at home and on the same network as my cable box, the app shuts down making it useless and a waist. But if that wasn't enough, my cable box then reboots and I lose cable for several minutes. Happened several times. Deleted and reinstalled the app. Waited a week. Tried again. I am able to repoduce the exact same results every time. Clearly the app is just a Piece of S#&@. I’m sorry if you are stuck with RCN. No need to inflict more pain upon yourself by downloading this worthless junk. ### 1/5 — Continues to be terrible in December 2020 *2020-12-07, version 1.3.7* This app continues to be useless and terrible. I moved from spectrum to RCN because I moved buildings but chose RCN over other providers because they seemed to have the closest in terms of allowing me to watch my service on other devices in other rooms of the house. This app is buggy, terrible, and useless. If this app is what is making you choose RCN, choose elsewhere. ### 1/5 — The way to lose loyal customers *2020-11-04, version 1.3.7* I have been complaining to RCN for over a month about this app and I just get the run around. I cannot watch on my iPad or my iPhone and see from the other reviews that this seems universal since an iOS update. It should not take this long to fix a bug. Get it together RCN2GO or you will lose customers with over 20 years of loyalty. ### 1/5 — Still Still Doesn’t Work *2020-11-02, version 1.3.7* Come on RCN. It’s been over a month since the new IOS came out and the app still doesn’t work! The whole reason why I choose RCN was the ease of the app since I travel so much. Get on your developers and get this fixed! We should get a discount for not being able to use all of the services promised. UPDATE - the update that was to have come out last week did not. It’s been over a month! Ridiculous! UPDATE 11/2 - the update is there still is not update. If I could rate this app and company a zero, I would! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Is anyone working to fix this app?? *2022-11-05, version 1.4.4* This app, which at one time worked OK, is completely useless. I spent time on the phone recently with RCN Customer Service and it seems clear that no one has ownership of this app. Meanwhile, Xfinity’s comparable app works unbelievably well! After 25+ years as an RCN customer, it seems it’s time for a change. ### 1/5 — AWWWWWFUL!!! *2022-02-27, version 1.4.4* This app is terrible! I have tried to use it multiple times over the years as I’ve been a long time subscriber to RCN. I pay a ton for my usage and I can’t even use the mobile app that they offer to watch my shows that I have even paid extra to watch while I’m not at home.I saw the overall ratings, and I agree with them. You would think they would do something about it by now, but apparently they really don’t care! I’m about to switch back to my previous provider and I thought THEY were terrible, But they are actually looking much better at this point. ### 1/5 — Can’t Watch Anything *2022-02-05, version 1.4.4* This app has only gotten worse in the last few years. At least I used to be able to watch my recordings, now I can’t watch anything even 10 feet away from my box/router. ### 1/5 — It’s almost pitiful *2021-10-23, version 1.4.4* I am a college student and go out of state for school. The one little bit of home I indulge in is high school football games. I heard the games were live-streamed on the RCN app and wanted to watch for myself, not listen to a podcast of the game. Much to my dismay, this app is probably the saddest excuse for a streaming service I have ever seen. You either need to be on the same network as your main box, or airplay directly to that box. So you’re telling me .. the only time I can watch something live on my phone .. is at home .. in front of my TV with RCN…? Absolutely ridiculous. The one piece of home I wanted and I can’t get it. I feel bad for whatever half baked, brain dead developer had to design this. Seriously… ### 1/5 — App does not function *2021-09-26, version 1.4.4* I have been a customer for a few months and have never been able to log in to this app. When I load, the app says “Setting up your experience on a new device. This can take up to a minute.” Unable to resolve with more than an hour on the line with tech support, who stated that the box provided by RCN is too new and not yet supported. ### 1/5 — Unusable *2021-09-20, version 1.4.4* Unable to watch live TV from my phone even though I am connected to wifi. It seems like this was an issue in reviews from 3 years ago. Why has this basic functionality not been fixed? ### 1/5 — It’s 2020 and RCN apps are still failing *2021-06-28, version 1.4.4* Issue #1: Immediately after downloading the app I was put on a 30minute suspension for entering the wrong login info too many times. I only enter my login info once though. How is that I’m suspended and this is my first time opening the app and first attempt even trying to login? Issue #2: After being allowed to login, the app sends me straight to my billing statement. Isn’t this app supposed to allow me to stream programs? Why does it keep sending me to billing when I have no unpaid bills? Where are the options to browse TV programs? Issue #3: Tried to download the RCN Mobile App to see if that offers something different. (It doesn’t fyi) Why does RCN have two apps that do the exact same thing, both of which are entirely useless? Maybe I should have stayed with Xfinity. Xfinity is way over priced but at least their services work. Update: Basically a year lately and still nothing regarding these app work. ### 1/5 — USELESS *2021-06-13, version 1.4.4* This app simply does not work, period. I have deleted it, reinstalled, rebooted…countless times. It never populates. All the information it is supposed to contain is inaccessible. For all of us who pay RCN for TV, there is NO way to access the channels we pay for in one place. It’s 2021. Make the app work. It is part of what we are paying for! ### 1/5 — RCN2Go doesn’t work *2021-04-08, version 1.4.4* I just had RCN installed today (cable, Internet & phone) and was excited to get away from Comcast’s high prices. Unfortunately the mobile app doesn’t work. Apparently RCN is fully aware but has no ETA for a fix. How is this possible? I used the xfinity mobile app every day. It was flawless. How can they promote a mobile app that doesn’t work? After login it won’t connect to the system at all and just gives a vague error message. I am on the same network, and zilch. It didn’t work all that well before, and now it is totally worthless. NO ISSUES! I spent 30 minutes testing the RCN platform and watched zero seconds. Do not go down this rabbit hole. Save yourself the time, aggravation, and expectation. Thank you. ### 5/5 — No More Complains, does exactly what I need *2020-10-11, version 1.3.7* First, I use this App only at home. So I can't speak to its abilities as it relates to watching stuff away from home. Also, I recommend you delete and reinstall the app if you have not done so in a while. It solved my connection issue. So what am I using it for? I use the App mainly to find and program stuff quickly, and as a remote control. For that it does a great job. It has also improved greatly when it comes to speed. Also, you can now use face ID to log in. I had no crashes in a long time. Thanks RCN for making this a useful app. Too bad though it took your guys so long to fix all the problems. ### 4/5 — Still doesn't work *2017-09-03, version 1.3.4* The app crashes a second after launching. App doesn't let you login. Not sure what these updates are improving because this has been happening for 2 years. Edit: turn off your add blocker, once I did that it worked fine ### 2/5 — Streaming doesn’t work *2020-11-29, version 1.3.7* Terrible updating and quality controls on this app. Streaming doesn’t work and the app crashes every time you try to stream something to a device. I’m no techie, but I think RCN needs to spring for one who can fix this app. Is this rocket science in 2018? And the RCN customer service people are THE BEST—hugely better than Comcast.
