### 5/5 — Sehr gute Arbeit

*2021-10-04*

Bitte Update … XR halbes Fenster!
Danach wieder 5 Sterne

### 5/5 — This is dope

*2021-02-15*

I’ve been making tape loops for a while now and this is the best I’ve come to that’s app based, super fun and thoughtfully made

You should make a glitch to the beginning or end to a loops like it does when you make one of reel
give it that organic sound

### 5/5 — If this were a piece of hardware I would never sell it

*2020-09-12*

I own many of these types of plugins and honestly they all do a great job of adding color, wow, flutter and of course, delay. Where this one stands out is that it is an actual emulation, a virtual tape deck in which you can touch the tape reel graphic and cause it to do all sorts of crazy effects. In addition, it is also a looper and a multi-effects processor containing some surprising effects I did not expect. It reminds me of my early days back in the 80s, grabbing a tape deck and experimenting with all sorts of sonic mayhem. And what makes it even more useful is that it all can be recorded and automated inside of Cubasis so that every small adjustment you make comes out in the final recording, or as a sample you can save inside the plugin. This is a tool that I will learn, master and use until it goes away somehow in the future.

### 3/5 — Very heavy CPU

*2020-05-02*

Great app but very heavy cpu Dsp on my iPad Pro 1g . Please consider makeing it more lightweight. Thanks . I really like your apps

### 5/5 — Lost in the dub

*2020-04-27*

I never owned a Roland space echo so I don’t know if this does a pure recreation, I imagine not, but I was able to get some shabby dub chords drifting around and cascading like I wanted, and nothing else I tried on iOS could quite do that.

I did not have problems with crackles or freezes and I am on an iPad mini, not a pro.

I did not quite figure out the looper yet but overall this unit is deep to explore and takes me into uncharted territory. Great for sound design and experimentation.

My favorite by far though is the FD-1, which Apple won’t let me review for some reason. That thing is one of the most inspiring tools I’ve ever used, I am just thrilled with it.

Get them all guys, they are multieffects integrated in a way that is more than the some of their parts. Fantastic.

### 5/5 — Anfangs...

*2020-04-24*

### 5/5 — A fantastic tape delay.

*2019-11-24*

This does everything most people want from a tape delay and more.
It syncs no problem, has adjustable tape length, head positions, head levels, wow, flutter, feedback, saturation, hiss, (tape emulation can also be turned off) and bass and treble. Its great for dub, feed this with a few different loops via varying send levels and its making a track for you!
I'd say for most people making music on ios, its a must have effect app.

### 3/5 — Presets don’t work

*2019-08-01*

This isn’t the first app I’ve gotten from numerical audio with issues with preset saving. If you save a preset it doesn’t load correctly (sometimes it won’t load, sometimes it will load with audio only on one side, sometimes the AU just crashes). I’d email them about the issue, but last time I did I got no response and the issue was never fixed, so why bother. I downloaded this hoping it would be less buggy than Enso... but apparently not. It’s a shame, because it sounds real nice otherwise.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2019-05-18*

Great recreation of a still coveted classic, the Roland Space Echo. Hope the dev will consider doing other classics like EHx Memory Man, Maestro Echoplex EP3, Eventide H3000 (Vai presets please!!) LOVE THIS GEM!!!

### 4/5 — Amazing sound, performance issues

*2019-05-15*

I love the depth that’s available in this app, and the sound just feels smooth coming through this as an AU effect.
The UI does seem to overload the CPU though and I also get crackling when opening and tweaking the UI (iPad Pro 9.7”) even with barely 50% DSP utilization prior.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Contacted dev twice

*2024-05-25*

I’ve been beta testing apps for over 13 years so I always contact the developer before I leave a poor review. I’ve contacted them twice and I didn’t even get a quote. We will get back with you email” or “we are busy working on the problem”email. I received nothing. I’m using a few different iPads and yes, the app actually shows the entire app on the iPad, but you can’t use it as a standalone whatsoever. They were supposed to address this in the last update, but it wasn’t.
Then, I contacted them because when I use it on my 13 pro max, you can’t see the entire screen. You can’t scroll to the left or the right it’s just cut off.

The wave files do not work in standalone app. The wave files that they have and the wave files that you import do not work. again, this was supposed to be addressed in the last update which I contacted them twice in a month and heard nothing.
This actually was one of my favorite tape delay apps, but it’s gone into my ‘unsuable’ folder on both my iPhone and my five iPads. If the developer ever gets back with me, then I will most certainly change my review. I’m just a little disgusted at the moment.

### 1/5 — Teilweise nicht bedienbar

*2022-08-01*

*2020-06-30*

Não há compatibilidade na tela !
Want my money back! Please

### 1/5 — Nicht für iPhone11 Pro !?

*2020-06-02*

### 1/5 — Buggy, broken and barely useable

*2019-11-29, version 1.1.1*

This app is a joke. Firstly there’s no way I can find to change the speed of the tape and everything loads in at around half speed. Many of the knobs do nothing or their function is labelled incorrectly. For example feedback does nothing. The output level and the mix level knob both control output level. The wow and flutter are poor LFO effects and the save system/file export plain doesn’t work. You can’t preview the output file and it does not give you any idea of where it’s saved to. I can’t find the file anywhere. As a message to the developer, you should be ashamed of yourself, this product was not ready for the market and if it was I doubt it would be good.

### 1/5 — Just got this and it doesn't even work properly

*2019-11-01*

Just wasted my money on this all it does is make a horrible crackling noises iPad 12.9" second generation iOS 12.1 .4 .on cubasis as a auv3😡😡😡😡And it doesn't even open up in full screen properly on cubasis as a auv3.I've just noticed as well in cubasis it doesn't even freeze properly nothing comes out..What is the point in bringing out apps that do not work properly and you do not fix.

### 2/5 — Erm. Hello.. SoS

*2020-12-17*

This is still not working on 2017 iPad Pro running ios14. Crashes every time I load a sample into it then refuses to load at all.. delete and reinstall starts it working but load a sample and it crashes again..

### 3/5 — Great effect, but UI is too heavy

*2023-01-17*

I got iPad Pro (2018 10.5 model), and when loading (opening the UI instance) the plugin is giving too many cracking noises to be able to adjust the parameters. If you close the UI (having plugin still active) the cracklings go away. But, this makes the plugin unusable. This happens under very minimal load, so I think the UI might have a bug of some sort. Tried it in Beatmaker 3, Cubasis, ApeMatrix, NanoStudio and AUM. If it worked - clear 5 star effect.

As a possible fix, maybe remove that tape animation thingy or toggle it on/off in settings? If you make a “compact” (as in not full screen) version with just the knobs, I’m pretty sure that would fix this problem. Because the RE-1 itself running in background (without the active window) doesn’t eat up more CPU than other comparable plugins.

That said, for those considering buying this plugin, if you’re someone who doesn’t mind freezing tracks or uses a handful of plugins/fx, this app is very good in terms of actual fx and sound quality. One of the best tape delays I’ve tried, in fact. The 3-star is for people like myself who like to use several plugins in their projects, and for that it’s very heavy so I stopped using it.

### 3/5 — Not sure it’s all that.

*2022-08-06*

I’m experiencing some crackling and pops whenever I’m trying to adjust the knobs. Also, the knobs seem to have some sort of delay in their response which I don’t dig. Some of the interface buttons are way too small and hard to press even when the window is maximized in AUM. Weird scaling when iPad is held vertically.

Sonically, I don’t like any of the stereo effects in it, they still sound pretty narrow to me. The sound tends to be quite “dry” in its character, I’d say it is 180 from what the real tape introduces.

Overall quite disappointed by this purchase.

### 3/5 — Import

*2020-12-22*

Would be so much more creative if you could import or record you’re own samples!
Or am I able to?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent tape echo

*2026-06-29*

does exactly what it sas on the tin, great plugin

### 5/5 — Cooler than a cool thing

*2024-06-09, version 1.1.8*

Occasionally, an app arrives that has so much right on release, it deserves 5 stars. Yes, friends, this is one such app. If the kind of FX this does compliments the kind of music you make, then do not hesitate. Within minutes I had something going with it that sounded like the afterlife of Bob Marley!

### 5/5 — Awsome

*2024-01-14*

Super echo unit. Very responsive developper. Has now even included the ability to choose input and output in stand alone mode.

### 5/5 — Great App but BEWARE APPLE UPDATES!

*2023-02-17*

This app is crazy fun and great for live performance.
After updating my iPad to iOS 16.3, the app no longer works.
Thanks again Apple, you really want to kill 3rd party content don’t you? It would be different if APPLE came out with an amazing echo app like RE-1, but the best they can come up with is the absolute WORST ever DAW, aka Grabage Band.
Luckily, I still have an OLD iPad that can run this very cool app.

### 5/5 — Indépassable

*2022-12-29, version 1.1.5*

### 5/5 — Fantastic support from Kai. Big thanks!

*2022-10-24, version 1.1.5*

Had a few issues getting this working in AUM. Kai was super helpful helping me troubleshoot and get it working. The delay sounds amazing, really captures the flavor classic tape delays with plenty of setting the tweak away at a craft whatever sound you need.

### 5/5 — Roland RE201 miracle as an ios plugin

*2022-04-27, version 1.1.5*

I have owned and loved a Roland RE201 Space Echo. I am obsessed with the thickness of its tape saturation and warmth. While most tape emulators create distortion, lo fi and wow / flutter,

I generally have not been able to replicate the thickness and warmth of my 1970s unit. Perhaps it’s a combination of the solid state transformers as well as the tape.

In any case, RE1 is the closest I have found, in overall sound character, to my analogue beast. This is for both ios and osx. Buy it with confidence and enjoy a time machine to worlds gone by.

Thanks and gratitude. Awesomeness,

### 5/5 — Da Best

*2022-04-25*

Prolly won’t care to look any further after this is in your pocket. Hope u get it on sale. Thanks to all involved. Great for sprouting and implementing ideas 🤙

### 5/5 — Doesn’t fit screen on small iPod

*2021-11-28*

Would love to use it….

### 5/5 — Absolutely Beautiful

*2021-10-24, version 1.1.5*

Other reviewers obviously have no idea how to explore for themselves and change simple values like the tempo, or read documentation. This app has been unfairly reviewed by the “Need it now” generation. Seriously, spend half an hour reading up on it. It’s worth the time.

This app is absolutely beautiful. It’s a lot better than other tape apps out there. This one has it all, and can make some lovely textures and drones. The saturation is on point, it gets that nice crunchy tape saturation down perfectly. It’s very easy to record anywhere up to 8 bars from straight inside your project, save and recall at any time. Every time you do it loops perfectly. It’s a lot of fun to play with standalone which I recommend you do to get a feel for it and the sorts of noises this thing can generate. It’s as authentic as tape apps come, right down to being able to manipulate the spools.

I love the custom tape head spacing, it makes for some very very nice tape delay.

Great app, exactly what I was looking for. Was a little hesitant at first, because i’ve been bitten by “other” tape looper apps, but this is what I was looking for.
