However, this app has made it really easy to learn Thai script. It is well laid out and the step by step process allows you to learn at your own pace accurately and efficiently. Additionally, by learning to read and write Thai script correctly it has improved my Thai speaking skills by providing clear understanding of the structure of Thai language sounds and tones. 5 stars, highly recommend. The app also has notepad capability where you can draw them as notes and they disappear so you can get them right over time. This is the only app that doesn’t make you pay to use flash cards nor does it have useless information or ads. It’s straightforward and explains every nuance in the language as well as studying flash cards and really help you memorise it. It even disciplines you and reminds you to finish the previous flash card set before heading to the next module! It is so nice I actually wanted to pay for it. But it is free. It does not collect or require user data and it explains things really well. I have tried using consonant flashcards but always become frustrated because I don’t understand all the fields or purpose of the flashcards. I needed a basic understanding of how the alphabet works and what are all the things on the flashcards. After trying to learn the basics of the alphabet from a book as well as a dozen YouTube videos, I just became frustrated. This app did it. It explains it in simple terms. The flashcards helped me memorize consonants in under a week and i was (slowly) sounding out sentences in under a month. Fantastic app! Additionally, flashcards started malfunctioning after an iOS update and the dev posted a fix for them within a day. A true gem of software in an age when overall software quality has been suffering. Most apps or websites leave out important bits, but this one goes into SO much depth and helped me understand very clearly what I had been stuck on for a while. The best part is that it’s FREE, though I wouldn’t even mind paying for it since it’s truly been very useful for me. Thai is much more involved when it comes to reading vs other languages like Japanese or Spanish, but this just breaks it down beautifully.
