This app doesn’t work ### 5/5 — WISH I DISCOVERED THIS SOONER *2024-12-24* I have been subscribing to Otter.ai as it is the best at what it does but not cheap. I have tried lots of cheaper or free transcription apps but they are not good. I must admit I wasnt expecting much from Readable. How wrong I was. My first test was a 10 minute video lecture. After transcribing I watched the lecture again and check the transcribed text for accuracy. Not only was it 100% accurate but it added a question mark at the end of every question posed by the lecturer but also omitted to record a couple of times when the speaker stumbled. Incredible!! It is easy to use, easy to learn. provides 99% flawless transcriptions, it estimates and adds punctuation and capitalization very realistically, greatly reducing post-translaton editing efforts. It can also easily and efficiently do bulk transcriptions. I used it recently to transcribe ten 1-hour speech videos (mp4) which it did seamlessly with much better than expected output text. I can highly recommend this program and its inexpensive compared to others. ### 5/5 — Impressed! *2024-06-09* Was tired of manually typing notes from recorded lectures, so thought I'd give this a try. This app not only transcribes, but to my amazement it tries to clean up the sentences as well. For example, it ignores the word "umm" and also ignores if parts of a sentence are repeated, etc. That is super helpful!
