### 4/5 — Text to speech is buggy

*2026-08-15, version 0.12.1*

Nice app but it’s always a hit or miss if the text to speech is gonna work

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2026-08-14, version 0.12.1*

Best ebook reader app on the market, AND it’s free & open-source!!!

### 2/5 — TTS Skipping Lines

*2026-08-13, version 0.12.1*

Been mainly using this for the TTS function. However, I have noticed that I can go about half a page before TTS will skip over dialogue on pdf files. Sometimes it’s very short. Skipping over a sentence or two. Other times it will skip a paragraph or half a page. It’s infuriatingly annoying that I have to basically stop and restart the TTS. At first, I thought I was hearing things until I read along with it and saw it happened. If the TTS wasn’t skipping, I’d give this a higher rating.

Seems like I don’t have this problem if I am using TTS on an e-book file. Seems to only not work properly if I am using it on a pdf article or something.

### 5/5 — WOW

*2026-08-10, version 0.11.20*

This is the app I've been looking for years. I have tried every single e-reader app out there and none of them did what I wanted conpletely. Finally I got Readest due to getting a Kobo/Koreader.

I genuinely wish I would have found it sooner because WOW. Just wow. It's literally the perfect program and I always skipped over it because low reviews. So here I am, giving it my 5 stars. It deserves 10.

That speed reading mode? Bro....amazing. When I get this job I will buy buying the app outright in support.

*2026-08-09*

**Developer response:**

**Developer response:**

### 5/5 — Top

*2026-07-29*

One of the most free e-reader. Just a little bug: in the very nice multi book viewer, when we put the app in background and we come back all books are closed.
