## What is Readiness Coach?

Readiness helps athletes and fitness enthusiasts train smarter by tracking daily recovery from Heart Rate Variability (HRV), resting heart rate, sleep, and activity in Apple Health.

KNOW WHEN TO PUSH. KNOW WHEN TO REST. Every morning, Readiness calculates your recovery score and tells you how ready your body is to train. Stop guessing. Stop overtraining. Start listening to your body.

WHAT READINESS TRACKS • HRV, the strongest recovery signal available • Resting heart rate, a key indicator of nervous system stress • Sleep duration, stages, and efficiency • Steps and daily activity • Training load from your workouts

WORKS WITH THE GEAR YOU ALREADY OWN Readiness reads from Apple Health, so it works with virtually any device that writes there: Apple Watch, Garmin, Polar, Fitbit, Whoop, Samsung Galaxy Watch, Oura Ring and more. One coach for all your data, whatever you wear. If your watch does not share HRV with Apple Health, you can enter it yourself in a couple of taps.

YOUR DAILY BRIEFING A personalised morning summary written by an AI coach that knows your numbers. It explains why your score is what it is, and whether today calls for a hard session or active recovery.

ASK YOUR COACH ANYTHING "Should I do my long run tomorrow?" "Why is my HRV low on Thursdays?" Your coach has your full history and answers in plain English rather than charts.

SEE THREE DAYS AHEAD A readiness forecast for the days ahead, so you can move your key session before fatigue arrives instead of after.

CATCH OVERTRAINING EARLY Readiness watches for the patterns that precede burnout and tells you before you dig a hole you have to climb out of.

TAG WHAT AFFECTS YOU Log alcohol, illness, travel, stress, or a late night, and watch your coach connect them to what your body did next.

ON YOUR HOME SCREEN A widget keeps today's score one glance away, so you know before you go.

ALSO INCLUDED • Weekly report on your trends and training load • Cycle-aware scores: with cycle tracking on, period dates are read from Apple Health and, after two cycles, your HRV and resting heart rate are compared with the same phase of your earlier cycles • Streaks to keep you consistent • CSV export of your own data • Family Sharing on Pro subscriptions

YOUR PRIVACY Your readiness score is calculated on your device. The AI features send the relevant metrics to Anthropic's Claude to write your briefing and chat replies, and nothing more. Your data is never sold and never shared with advertisers. Our privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent and what is not.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.5 — 2026-10-07

It asks before it judges
When your HRV or resting heart rate is well outside your own usual range, Readiness now asks what changed instead of putting a label on it. Pick an answer in one tap (less alcohol, poor sleep, hard training, feeling ill) and get a plain explanation. Your coach hears it too, and asks rather than assumes.

See where you are heading
Tap the Weekly Trend card for a chart of your last 7 days with the next 3 days projected, and the likely range shown honestly. (Pro)

Your own baseline, even without HRV from your watch
If you enter HRV by hand, those entries now build your personal baseline after 7 days, so your score compares you with yourself. Until then the app says clearly that it is using a typical value. Your score may shift when your own baseline takes over.

Send feedback
New in Profile: Send feedback. Report a bug now reaches us at support@thereadiness.app.

Fixes
• The weekly report sometimes showed raw code instead of text. Fixed, and refresh now makes a new report.
• One water target across Nutrition and Hydration.
• Forecast and Strava cards no longer stretch or overflow with the larger text.
• Trend bars line up with their days.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-30

Back from illness
Tag a day as Sick and Readiness tracks your recovery against your own resting heart rate and HRV from before you got sick. Training advice stays at Easy Day until your numbers are back for two mornings in a row, because the body usually recovers a few days after you start feeling better. If your resting heart rate is up two days running, the app asks whether you are feeling unwell. Free for everyone.

Water
Tap to add 0.5 l (or 16 fl oz) from Today. It is saved to Apple Health, you set your own daily target in Profile, and your coach takes it into account.

A smarter coach
• The coach now sees your last 30 days, the math behind today's score and your recent Strava activities, so its answers quote your real numbers.
• It remembers what you tell it, like a race date or an injury. Review or delete what it remembers in Profile.
• Suggested follow-up questions under your morning briefing.
• Check-ins when something in your data needs a look (Pro).
• Free accounts get 3 coach questions a week.

Easier to read
Text is one step larger across the app, and the lock screen widget is easier to read over photo wallpapers.

Fixes
• Today's HRV only uses today's readings, and you can enter or update it yourself every day.
• Apple Watch Breathe sessions no longer inflate your overnight HRV.
• Sleep history shows your whole night, including stages recorded before midnight.
• Without sleep data, the app says so instead of scoring a night that was not recorded.
• Founder members no longer see a Manage subscription button.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-28

See exactly how your score is built.

• How today's score was calculated: tap the link under your ring to see every number your score used, worked out with your own baselines. Free for everyone.
• Fairer sleep scores. If your watch records sleep but not sleep stages, a full night now earns full marks instead of being marked down, so your score may rise.
• Cycle-aware scores. With cycle tracking on, Readiness reads your period dates from Apple Health and, after two cycles, compares your HRV and resting heart rate with the same phase of your earlier cycles.
• Lock screen widgets, and today's training call on the home screen widget.
• No HRV from your watch? Enter it yourself straight from the Today screen.
• Founder lifetime: Pro forever for the first 200 supporters.
• Readiness Pro subscriptions now work with Family Sharing.
• Fixes: the Weekly Trend always includes today, and the age, height and weight buttons in Profile work again.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-22

Your readiness score just got sharper, and the app got more honest.

• Overnight HRV only. Your score now uses the average of your overnight readings, never an afternoon sample or a week-old one.
• Fairer stress reading for Garmin, Polar and Whoop users. An ordinary day is no longer scored as high stress.
• History is scored with the same model as today, so the chart is finally comparable day to day.
• Today's training recommendation is now free for everyone, right under your score.
• New Coach tab. Ask why your numbers look the way they do (Pro).
• Calibration Week Report on day 7: your personal baselines and your first week in one screen.
• Cycle-aware coaching. Log your period and the briefing and coach interpret luteal-phase dips as physiology, not overtraining.
• No more made-up scores. If your watch has not synced, the app says so instead of showing a number.
• Shorter onboarding, clearer privacy wording, and a stack of fixes to dates, caches and notifications.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-27

Your first week is now on us. Every new account gets full Pro access for the seven days it takes Readiness to learn your baselines, so you can try the AI briefing, coach and forecast while your scores calibrate.

Also in this update:

• Free plan, bigger picture: the 7-day trend chart and weekly stats are now included for everyone
• A free AI briefing every week: tap your score ring to see what your numbers mean
• Clearer guidance when your watch hasn't synced yet, with the exact step to fix it
• Reinstalling the app no longer repeats onboarding: your profile is restored from your account
• Fixed a brief flash of Pro content at launch
• General polish and reliability improvements
