However, for some reason I always have to restore purchases, and then re-download them to each of our tablets. It is very timeconsuming and I haven't figured out why this happens. ### 4/5 — Educational *2016-08-27, version 2.1* Perfect for my little brothers who enjoy reading and can't stay off the iPad. They teach letters/sounds and words step by step. It tells you exactly what to say when teaching news sounds and skills. We choose not to use the "read to me" feature because we want our boys to sound out the text, but it can be helpful. We really would like it if the app expanded into the upper level book sets. We were able to use the app for our younger son while on vacation, but out older son who is in the final set, had to bring his paper books. A Behavior Analyst's dream!!! My 5 year old is already reading at a first grade level and she's still in preschool. My 3 year old is also moving along well. I don't personally mind the voice and don't find it offensive. I few years back I purchased access to ALL of the I See Sam series through the app for $50. Now they want me to pay on a monthly basis for something I already owned! It’s pathetic! Why would I originally pay $50 for something and then want to pay more! I was excited to get an easy to travel with option that has all eight sets. When I tried to pair my device with my children’s the app on my phone crashed and won’t let me back in. I have to remove it from my device and reinstall to get it to work, but it’s not paired. I purchased with the intention of using the teacher/student options and can’t. The books are amazing though! The books progress logically based on reading level, which is surprisingly difficult to find. So often books for beginning readers are all over the place phonetically. If he gets stuck on a word, he can touch the text to hear it sounded out. I like that it asks questions throughout the stories to assess reading comprehension and that at the end of books they go over letter sounds and blends that will be coming in the next book. He feels accomplished as he moves up each level. It’s really been the best app we have found for him so far. ### 5/5 — Love Sam! *2020-03-19, version 2.6.4* I can’t praise these books enough! Our first child was with the paper books. By the second set they were each ready to move on to bigger books by themselves. Great features for sounding out new words. Like someone else has said the reader management closes the app every time I try to access it.
