### 4/5 — Progress bar issue

*2026-08-23, version 2.9.1*

Only complaint is that the progress bar is missing from most books I add nowadays. Otherwise great and very useful app.

### 5/5 — My favourite app

*2026-08-12, version 2.9.1*

This app is not just beautifully simple and efficient at recording reading data, it is a pleasure to use!

### 5/5 — Favorite!

*2026-08-12, version 2.9.1*

This is the best book tracking app I’ve ever used, it’s intuitive and so easy to navigate, and I love getting to see all my reading progress!

### 5/5 — Love love this app

*2026-08-11, version 2.9.1*

It’s easy and has most books so you don't have to search for it. Easy to use.

### 5/5 — Love Reading List!

*2026-08-11, version 2.9.1*

I started using Reading List as a way to keep track of the books I read and my thoughts on them. It is a great (and free!) way to keep track of books you want to read, have read, and there are also features that allow you to organize the books you’ve read into categories. This feature is helpful to me as I read some books for school and others for pleasure. It is also very easy to scan the barcode of the book you’re reading or want to add to your TBR without having to manually search for it. I’m a huge fan of this app and will continue to use it for years to come! 🤗📚

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2026-08-10, version 2.9.1*

Awesome app

### 4/5 — Only one wish

*2026-08-09, version 2.9.1*

I use this app as well as another popular social book app. I just love the layout and simplicity of this one. My only wish is I could put in when I reread a book without paying. The free version gives me everything I need except that.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2026-08-08, version 2.9.1*

Haven’t been charged money to put in my books like other apps, I use this app to track all my sons books and what we've read. I love that you can add your own books into your collection. I absolutely love it! No complaints

### 5/5 — The Best Reading Tracker

*2026-08-07, version 2.9.1*

I love this app! No social media distractions - just a record of your books and your reading. The search is amazing compared to other apps where you spend twenty minutes of reading time trying to find the book that is in your hands. It is especially good at finding old editions that don’t have ISBNs. Cannot fault it. This is the ONLY app I pay for and it is worth every penny! I even give the developer a tip from time to time - so amazed am I as to how the app works!

### 5/5 — A brilliant alternative to Goodreads

*2026-08-06, version 2.9.1*

A fantastic, simple app for tracking the books that you’ve read/ want to read etc. One potential tiny flaw is a lack of ease in tracking books that you dip in and out of but won’t necessarily ever finish, but this is not an easy fix!

### 5/5 — Straight Shooting App

*2026-08-03, version 2.9.1*

This app does everything I want, and nothing I don’t. It’s easy to scan a barcode at the library or a bookstore so that I don’t lose track of a future read. It’s easy to track your place, add a note, or share a recommendation. It’s easy to find that book you read last year but can’t quite remember the title. It’s easy to look back and celebrate all of the books you read and enjoyed in the last year. No complaints, only praise for this app.

### 4/5 — Echoes of Parenthood

*2026-08-02, version 2.9.1*

The author has written a helpful and thought provoking resource for all who have been parented and also for those who parent in the past, present or future.
Highly recommended an important resource in a world where change is a constant challenge.

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2026-07-28, version 2.9.1*

It is so easy to keep track of books and keeps track of your averages per month or year. Been using this app for several years now and plan to continue 😊

### 5/5 — For book addicts & list lovers

*2026-07-26, version 2.9.1*

Love this little app, it records my books is a repository for books I want to read, is easy to use and not beset by ads! Love it 📚📚📚📚📚

### 5/5 — Excellent Book Tracker

*2026-07-26, version 2.9.1*

I have used many book apps, but this is the best. It is a very simple app, but does everything I want in a tracker. Besides listing all the boos I have, you can make any kind of folder you need. One thing this app does that all the others do not, is the dragging of my books in the order I want. There are other sort options, but I really appreciate a manual sort, because I constantly like to change my TBR order. I appreciate what the developer has done, so I purchased the lifetime option today.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2026-07-24, version 2.9.1*

The free application is wonderful. Simple, easy to use and fun to see reading log!

### 5/5 — Reliable

*2026-07-24, version 2.9.1*

I’ve found that despite this apps short comings on book data it makes up for in simple straight forward setup with no bs ads. I pay for the yearly subscription and it’s cheap. The app allows me to check on how I improved this year, log reads, gives averages, etc. I love that I can add a book to my reading list and if the info is lacking I can change it. Great app!

### 4/5 — Très bien MAIS

*2026-07-22*

Cette application est géniale mais il faudrait vraiment nous laisser voir les statistiques gratuitement parce que franchement c’est nul de les flouter 😭

### 5/5 — Great app but recent issue

*2026-07-21, version 2.9.1*

Great app but have noticed recently the barcode scan is no longer pulling in the cover photo

### 3/5 — Useful but limited

*2026-07-19, version 2.9.1*

I’d like to be able to export/share my reviews. Perhaps one has to pay to do this?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Widgets are not working

*2026-05-25, version 2.8.12*

I’m having trouble with the widgets not working as they used to. The suggested widget from Apple shows the book I’m currently reading, but when I add to Home Screen it only shows ‘add books’ on the widget. When I got it to work earlier, the percentage on the widget wasn’t updating.

### 1/5 — Inputting myself

*2026-05-20, version 2.8.12*

Not sure what happened but it seems like any book I am reading/listening too I have to enter manually now. Even scanning its like no books can be found. Pretty frustrating.

### 1/5 — Poor ability to recognize barcodes

*2026-04-07, version 2.8.9*

Don’t bother subscribing if you are in Australia. I scanned in 5 books to start, all current bestsellers by big names like Jane Harper and it recognized only one. Having to add the majority of books manually is a waste it time and defeats the purpose of the app.

### 1/5 — Will not work for me

*2026-02-25, version 2.8.4*

I downloaded this app because it was recommended by a book BESTIE on TikTok, and the app will not allow me to upload any books while using the camera. It’ll scan the barcode and says that it can’t find the book or it just simply doesn’t exist. I restarted my phone because the camera wasn’t turning on before, I deleted the app and redownloaded it, I even paid for the yearly subscription. Nothing is working. So I give up. This would have been a cool app to have to scan all of my books in.

### 1/5 — Can’t read ANYTHING !!!

*2025-11-15, version 2.7.4*

You have to pay for it did anybody say that NO! I got my book on the app but I can’t read it!!! I’m devastated. For people who speak Korean here you go.

### 1/5 — I'd give it no stars if I could

*2025-09-16, version 2.7.3*

I loved it until I couldn't get it to sync to my other device. I emailed the app creator a month ago and never received a response.

### 1/5 — Not useful unless willing to pay for Pro version

*2025-05-10, version 2.7.3*

Downloaded this so my son cold track how many pages he’s read this year. Was very disappointed to see that the “statistics” (the entire reason for an app like this), is only available if you are willing to pay a monthly or annual fee. So without a purchase, this is as useful as keeping a list in a note app of which books you have read.

### 1/5 — Can’t read ANYTHING !!!

*2025-05-03, version 2.7.3*

You have to pay for it did anybody say that NO! I got my book on the app but I can’t read it!!! I’m devastated

### 1/5 — It’s Okay(Not Really)

*2025-01-04, version 2.6.4*

This app is good if you have money to be a “pro” they don’t let you see your status if you don’t pay and it’s only good if you want to see all your books organized. It doesn’t even like show you the percentage that you have done you have to get that on your own. There should be an goal option as well, and if you have a book you finished they should put a IDK for when you started and finished! Not the best one. I suggest you get a different app or you can just look at all the books you have on the app.

### 1/5 — Bad!!!

*2025-01-01, version 2.6.4*

Need pro version or it is completely useless rather use apps like bookmory because you don’t need to pay for basic features

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Invaluable for book lovers

*2026-08-25, version 2.9.1*

Handy user-friendly app for keeping track of what I’ve read, how long it took me, and how far I am through my current book! Easy to add new books to my ‘to read’ list with the barcode scanner.

### 5/5 — Reliable

*2026-08-25, version 2.9.1*

I’ve found that despite this apps short comings on book data it makes up for in simple straight forward setup with no bs ads. I pay for the yearly subscription and it’s cheap. The app allows me to check on how I improved this year, log reads, gives averages, etc. I love that I can add a book to my reading list and if the info is lacking I can change it. One thing I would like them to change or at least add is some color variation to the app aesthetics. It sort of has an aged look which is sort of a fall back. Also streamlining the process of logging books back to my Goodreads profile would be cool.

### 5/5 — a very nice app

*2026-08-24, version 2.9.1*

I love the clean simplicity of this app! I've been using it for more than a year now. So easy to track the books I read. I've recommended it to other friends. Thanks for such a simple easy app to track all my books!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-08-20, version 2.9.1*

Easy to use!

### 5/5 — Exactly as advertised.

*2026-08-20, version 2.9.1*

Excellent, simple app for tracking books. Great for people looking for an easy
way to track reading. I recommend this app for folks who want to keep track of their reading, but aren’t necessarily interested in social media or reviews.

### 5/5 — So easy

*2026-08-19, version 2.9.1*

I buy a lot of books from charity shops, friends pass on books. This app allows me to log them so I don’t have duplications.

### 5/5 — Just what I need

*2026-08-17, version 2.9.1*

I don’t need the social aspect, other book apps feel like everyone is competing on who can read the most. This app allows me to simply track and organize books I’ve read and want to read.

### 5/5 — Love

*2026-08-15, version 2.9.1*

I love this app! Simple, tracks my books, pages, stats. Simple but great!

### 5/5 — To me, this is a perfect app

*2026-08-15, version 2.9.1*

To me, this is a (rare) example of a a perfect IOS app. Its goals are simple: log, organize, and keep track of your progress in books you're reading/have read.
It does not try to be something it isn't; it doesn't try to be a book-buying app (although it does give you the option to see bookshop.org or amazon links for your books), it doesn't try to be a general, non-book organizational app, etc.
The programming is efficient and reliable; I've never had the app crash or lag or drain my phone's battery.
Most importantly to me, there is a lifetime membership option to remove ads (and unlock a few minor cosmetics). Apple requires developers to pay a fee for their app to be listed on the IOS store; most devs tackle this with annoying ads that you must pay a *recurring* payment to eliminate. Reading List has ads, but they are not disruptive. It also has a recurring payment option to remove them. But most important to me, there is the option to pay for the Pro Membership for life (and at a reasonable price—unlike other apps that only have a lifetime option to scam folks out of ~$200).
I have been using this app since 2019, and will continue to use this app for as long as books and iPhones continue to exist.
11/10 Thank you for creating one of my few forever apps.

### 5/5 — My favourite app for keeping track of my reading!

*2026-08-13, version 2.9.1*

I absolutely love reading list! It’s simple, intuitive and makes it so easy to keep track of what I’m reading, what I want to read and what I’ve already read. I especially love having all my books stored in one place without the app feeling cluttered.
As someone who reads a lot, and is constantly adding books to my TBR, this app has been a genuinely useful part of my reading life.
If you love books and want a simple way to organize your reading life, I’d highly recommend it! 📚
