### 4/5 — Great preschool app

*2013-01-04*

Great step up from the short vowel version, awesome for a free app. A few issues with the pronunciation of some letters and vowels, and again I would like to see letters exposed with pictures.

### 5/5 — Great edcuation application

*2013-01-03*

This application is great for the little one who want to understand the fundemental of reading which is nesseary for the little ones. I recommened you to download this application.

### 4/5 — good app that teaches pronunciation of words with consonant blends

*2013-01-03*

good app that teaches pronunciation of words with consonant blends. The full version contents many more words, and it is definitely worth purchasing. but this free version is also very useful. I just wish the words are divided to different difficulty levels.

### 4/5 — Nice

*2013-01-03, version 2.5*

Good little demo for the full app, the full one is only 99 cents and I think is worth it.

### 5/5 — Pretty Neat!

*2013-01-03*

The stages are well laid out and the pictures really help too. The app loads quick and is easy to navigate. Very satisfied.

### 4/5 — Good

*2013-01-03, version 2.5*

Good app to teach my grand daughter it really shows her what she needs to practice on.

### 4/5 — good

*2013-01-03, version 2.5*

this app surely is the best. it keeps my little sister calm.

### 5/5 — Excellent learning tool for beginning readers

*2012-10-04*

One of the best apps for segmenting and blending CVC words!

### 4/5 — Wait time on re-blending please

*2012-04-04*

Good app. I love the categories. Wonderful for English Language Learners. I am not happy with the short /e/ sound. It is too much like short /a/. Also the idea of the blending game is great. You don't find this concept on many apps. Thanks.....but please slow down giving the word and revealing the picture. Children need processing time. My students get discourage and will not even attempt recoding the word because the app beats them to it.

### 5/5 — Essential Reading App!

*2012-03-31*

This app the essential skills of blending and sequencing each word for later fluency!
Excellent work!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2012-12-11*

Too many errors. Sounded out incorrect sounds causing all kinds of confusion.

### 2/5 — Not what I hoped

*2012-09-06, version 2.0*

Some sounds are incorrectly pronounced... i.e. /p/ sounds like /s/... I wanted to use this with my struggling students but don't want them to be confused by the wrong sounds... Disappointed.

### 2/5 — Sound?

*2012-04-20*

The how to film on it is loud enough, but the activities are way too quiet, can hardly hear them. My iPad volume is all the way up and the app doesn't seem to have a volume control.

**Developer response:** These sound and volume issues have been fixed with the latest updates.

### 2/5 — Not impressed, good concept

*2011-08-19*

Good concept, but I'm not impressed. The sound is way too low even with volume all the way up. The words used are not easily recognized by kids, like trot, yelp, stag, croc. I plan to uninstall from my iPad 2.

**Developer response:** These sound and volume issues have been fixed with the latest updates. Yes, first, we used all of the easy words that children recognize. Then we decided to add even more words that match the reading level of this app. We used unfamiliar words that contain consonant blends in them. This adds more practice words and can help children expand their vocabulary. The pictures will always say what they are when tapped. The child never has to come up with the word by themselves. The app will tell the child what the word is.

### 3/5 — Great idea weak delivery

*2013-01-03, version 2.5*

The app idea is great for teaching essential skills for reading and speaking English. How ever the inaccurate pronunciation of some letters is the big downfall of this app

### 3/5 — Grill not gril

*2011-08-20, version 1.0*

Just began exploring this app, but I have to say that the creator misspelled gril.

### 4/5 — Good

*2013-01-05*

It's a very educational app, great for kids. The interface is a bit dull but it works quite well. Nice sampler

### 4/5 — Great

*2013-01-04*

This is a great app for kids when it comes to spelling/reading. My niece actually enjoys using it and it does help her! There's a decent amount of words she can spell now that she learned just from this app.

### 4/5 — Preety good

*2013-01-04, version 2.5*

These apps are really good for little kids who want to learn about a variety of subjects.

### 4/5 — Jdubya300

Really nice reading app. My niece has fun playing with it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great tool for helping read CVCC and CCVC words

*2016-05-18*

This app focuses on blending segmenting and reading CCVC and CVCC words. It teaches these advanced concepts in a clear and friendly way for children. Blending and Segmenting are essential reading skills. It is great to see an app that uses them.

### 5/5 — Reading Games to Help Read CVCC, CCVC Words

*2016-02-17*

This app focuses on CVCC and CCVC words.
It divides its games into 3 skill levels.
The two skills it uses before reading are blending and segmenting-which have been shown to be highly effective in building great reading skills. This app does a good job conceptually of giving children the opportunity to practice those skills.
I have seen the children in my class grow in their language ability through using this app.
It is simple and uncluttered and highly recommended.

### 5/5 — another good app

*2013-01-05*

Helpful app from Preschool University as usual. The full version contents many more words and worth trying. The only thing I don't like about this app is the poorly designed interface

### 5/5 — awesome

*2013-01-04*

it's nice to see that there are multiple apps for different skill levels instead of jumbling it all into one. it definitely gives children a chance to challenge themselves consistently on one skill level instead of giving them a bunch of words that they may never get for time to come.

### 5/5 — Very nice

*2013-01-04*

This app provides a fun and engaging learning experience. Many different levels. So far, all apps I've purchased from this developer have been great. Another winner with this one.

### 5/5 — Wonderful app

*2013-01-04, version 2.5*

It helps me with my english.

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2013-01-04*

This just a trial version. It's content very informative and very suitable as educational tool. I suggest to get the full version, it's price quite reasonable too.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2013-01-04*

This app is really useful for learning kids with great interface

### 5/5 — Good！

*2013-01-04, version 2.5*

This app is free version, and it is also very nice! Try it!

### 5/5 — ABC READING

*2013-01-03*

I bought this app because I had tried some similar ones and when I let my children play with it they loved it even more. They like the sounds and they find it very creative. They learn a lot with it. I recomment it.
