## What is Reading Tracker Pro?

Some people read. Others know how they read.

They know their best reading days, their fastest genres, how many pages they average in a session, and exactly which books shaped their year. They don’t guess — they know.

That’s what Reading Tracker Pro gives you.

Track every session.
Start the timer when you open your book. Stop it when you put it down. Over time, a picture of your reading life emerges — one you’ve never seen before.

Your entire library, beautifully organized.
Every book you’ve read, every book you’re reading, every book you want to read — all in one place. Rate them, review them, remember them.

Analytics that actually mean something.
Pages read. Time spent. Streaks maintained. Books completed. Charts that show you not just what you’ve read, but how you read.

Your next favourite book, waiting.
AI-powered recommendations based on what you’ve loved. No more staring at a to-be-read list wondering where to start.
Supports everything you read.

Physical books, ebooks, audiobooks — all tracked together.

Try every premium feature free for 14 days. No credit card required.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.4.1 — 2026-08-02

New Features

Reduce animations — a new option in Settings → Timer turns off the reading timer's pulsing button glow, for a calmer screen and a little less battery use during long sessions.
A new "Ex Libris" theme — a deep-navy reading-room look drawn straight from the app's book-and-laurel icon, with brass and steel-blue accents. Find it under Settings → Appearance, among the dark themes.
Check Book Covers — a new tool in Settings → Library finds cover images that are too large to display properly and resizes them in one tap. Your covers look exactly the same, but take up a fraction of the space.

Improvements
Lighter on battery — the reading timer's glow animation now runs more efficiently, using less power while you read.

Bug Fixes

Fixed a rare issue where saving your progress from the reading timer could leave you on the timer screen instead of returning you home.
Fixed the home screen and lock screen widgets getting stuck on old information. A single oversized book cover could quietly stop them refreshing — widgets now handle covers of any size.

### 2.4.0 — 2026-07-17

New Features

See audiobook listening on the Reading Calendar : a new Settings switch color-codes the heatmap: green for reading days, blue for listening, and purple for days with both. Off by default, so your calendar looks the same until you turn it on.
Streak freezes : your reading streak now survives the occasional missed day. You earn a freeze for every 7 days in a row (up to 2 saved), and one is spent automatically when you skip a single day, so one busy day no longer resets a long streak.

Series alerts : when you finish a book in a series and the next one is already in your TBR, get a gentle reminder that it’s ready to start. Turn it on in Settings → Reminders.

Read by Mood is now instant and free : AI Suggestions picks books from your own TBR, ranked to match the genre and mood you choose (and your favourite authors). No daily limit, works offline, and tapping a pick opens the book.

Snap a quote : photograph a book page and the app pulls the text into a new quote on-device (private, no typing). Tap "Scan page" when adding a quote. (Premium)

Live reading timer on your Lock Screen : start a session and a Live Activity shows the elapsed time on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with Pause, Resume, and Stop right there so you never have to reopen the app.

Start reading with Siri : just say "Start reading in Reading Tracker Pro" (or add it to Shortcuts and Focus automations) to open the app and start the reading timer for your current book. You can see the full list of Siri commands anytime on the Settings page.

Book costs in your currency : enter a book’s price in any of 23 supported currencies, then set your default currency in Settings and every cost (in your stats and on book details) is converted to it automatically using daily exchange rates.

A fresh, more dimensional look : cards on the Home and Stats screens now sit on solid, theme-matched backgrounds with soft drop shadows, so they stand out clearly in every theme.

Bug Fixes

Reading Calendar: the "Best day" total no longer shows extra decimal places in Minutes view : it is now rounded to two decimals.

Best Reading Time now reflects your real reading habits : the Reading Patterns stat shows when you actually read most (morning, afternoon, evening, or night) from your sessions, and gets sharper the more you use the reading timer.

Sharing now matches the app: completed goals, reading-time celebrations, streaks, achievements, and finished books now share the artwork shown on screen instead of the app icon ; and book covers appear in full instead of being cropped.

Don’t see a currency you use? Tap Settings → Suggest Feature and let us know; we’ll try to add it.

### 2.3.0 — 2026-06-13

New features
- Weekly reading goal : set a weekly goal alongside daily, monthly, and yearly, with its own celebration screen.
- Per-goal metric : each goal (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) can track time, books, or pages, chosen independently.
- Turn any goal on/off : toggle goals in Settings; disabled goals leave the home card, which disappears entirely when all are off.
- Customizable Reading Habits chart : show or hide individual metrics (e.g. hide "hours listened" if you skip audiobooks).
- Time on the Monthly Reading Volume chart : switch the second metric between pages and time.
- Redesigned Purchase Stats : split into three cards: Overview (totals, most/least expensive, averages, spend by period & format), Trends (12-month books-bought vs money-spent), and Locations (pie chart + per-store totals).
- Challenge start dates : challenges now take a start date plus a deadline and count only reading between the two.
- Delete old challenges : permanently remove abandoned/archived challenges (with confirmation), not just archive them.
- Sort library by length : by page count, or listening time for audiobooks; auto-applied when you pick the Pages filter or Audiobook format.
- Date pickers for book dates : purchase, due, and publication dates use a real date picker (defaults to today) on Add & Edit Book.
- TBR check before online search : when searching online to add a book, warns if it's already on your To Be Read list and shows its cover so you can confirm and skip the search.

Improvements
- Lock Screen daily-goal widget now shows progress in your goal's unit (time, books, or pages) instead of always time.
- New books default to your device language when added.

Bug fixes
- Swiping the Currently Reading carousel no longer opens a book by mistake.
- Hours-based reading challenges no longer get stuck at 0%.
- Smoother home screen, no full re-read of your library/session history when returning to the Home tab.
- Publication date no longer breaks on books saved with an old free-text date (e.g. "1998").

### 2.2.0 — 2026-06-02

NEW FEATURES
Custom library order — drag books into any order you like in Cards or Cover Grid view; your arrangement persists and syncs across devices.
Each status tab (Reading, Read, TBR, DNF, All) and each shelf keeps its own custom order, so reordering one never affects the others.
"Wipe iCloud Database" lets you clear your cloud data before turning sync on, so a heavily edited offline library uploads fresh with no duplicates or wrong covers.
Reading vs Listening — a new premium stats card shows how your time splits between reading and audiobooks, and the Reading Time per Month chart stacks both side by side.
Audiobook Progress card — see hours listened, percent complete, and time remaining for every audiobook in progress.
Top Narrators — a new card ranks the narrators you've spent the most hours listening to.
Listening time now appears across the app — the calendar, lifetime stats, Year in Review, and Reading Speed & Time card all show it alongside your reading.
Audiobook sessions now show listening progress as a percentage (e.g. "Listened 10%–30%") instead of page numbers.

  IMPROVEMENTS
Reading time and listening time are now tracked separately. If you log audiobooks, your reading totals (and "Hours Read" on the calendar) may look lower — that time now counts as listening, with no
  double-counting.
More accurate page stats — audiobook progress no longer counts as pages, so your pages read and reading-speed numbers aren't inflated by listening time.
The app logo now has a transparent background on share cards, exported charts, and celebration screens, instead of sitting in a white box.

  BUG FIXES
Alphabetical sort now places numeric titles (like 14 or 1984) correctly — before letter titles in A–Z, after them in Z–A.
Shelf book counts now match what you see when you open the shelf — no more leftover counts from deleted books.
The library remembers your scroll position after you edit or delete a book and return, instead of jumping to the top (Cards, Cover Grid, and Bookcase).
Title search now matches the start of the title by default — typing "the" finds books starting with "The," not every book containing it. Wildcards (*the*, *the) work too.
CSV export now includes every book field (narrator, translator, illustrator, language, publication date, re-read history) and reliably exports your full session history with accurate times.
Series position now accepts decimals (like .5 or 1.5) to place books between others in a series.
Every keyboard now shows a Done button so you can dismiss it with one tap — including number pads and multi-line fields.
Added more nonfiction categories (Finance & Economics, Technology, Medicine, and more), and the category list now matches your Fiction/Non-Fiction choice.
Audiobooks now show correct progress in the home screen widget (percentage and bar) instead of 0%.
Choosing which book appears in the home screen widget is now reliable, and adding a new book no longer takes over the widget.
Time-to-finish estimates now follow your actual reading pace — slow, careful reading is no longer treated as "too slow" and replaced with a generic speed.
On the Monthly Reading Volume chart, tap anywhere in a month's column to see the books that contributed — no more hunting for a tiny dot.

### 2.1.0 — 2026-05-21

Quick Field Edit mode in Mass Edit — pick one field (Format, Status, Notes, etc.), then tap-edit-save across every filtered book one row at a time, with each change saved
   instantly
Filter your library by Format and Fiction Type in the Mass Edit Filter Books panel — combine with Status and Category to drill down faster
Search the web for a new book cover — browse cover art from multiple sources on the Edit Book screen and tap to pick the one you like best
Choose a book cover from your photos — on the Edit Book screen, pick any image from your photo library and set it as the book's cover

BUG FIXES
Remaining-time-to-finish estimate is now more accurate — timer-only sessions (where pages did not advance) no longer dilute your reading speed and inflate the estimate
Lock Screen daily goal widget now shows the true percentage when you exceed your goal (e.g. 150%) instead of capping at 100%
