### 4/5 — Better than Goodreads

*2022-01-05, version 1.2*

I started using Goodreads awhile ago because I liked the concept; however, I wanted to start tracking the books I read to my toddler as well. My Goodreads got congested and I was not a fan. I found this app and the user friendliness is so nice and I loved how it wasn’t cluttered with others’ reviews like Goodreads (I really don’t care on others’ reviews as I have the books I want to read and just want an easy way to track them all). I love the library feature so I can have a list of all my books especially our children’s books for when you’re out shopping and forget what you do or don’t have.

SUGGESTIONS: I love this app so much! My biggest suggestions that would just make this app perfect for me:

1) if there is a way to add the same book multiple times to your read list without it re-adding it to your library. When tracking books for kids we often read the same book multiple times.

2) if there was a way to categorize books in your library by genre or custom categories (like children’s books, study books, leisure books, fiction, etc)

Thank you for this app and I hope you take these suggestions into consideration!!

### 4/5 — Great way to track reading for the family

*2021-02-09, version 1.1*

This is a great way for us track reading for the family. Our youngest struggles with reading so this was a great for us to track and offer a reading award for her! I would like to see a way to track reading the same book multiple times. So would like to record completions for all of them!

### 4/5 — Family Reading Time

*2019-09-14, version 1.0.2*

Like the app so far. Easy user-interface for anyone to use. Great concept. Would love to be able to see an option to categorize by Genre.

### 4/5 — Initial use review and suggestion

*2019-03-09, version 1.0*

Already love this app so much. My 12 year old is super happy to take pictures of the books she is reading and planning to read, to upload. She likes the idea of the three “shelves” a lot and so do I.

A suggestion would be to make a log in so we can download this on the kidlets devices so they do not have to all use one device for the price type deal.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Scammy

*2026-03-28, version 1.2.3*

They will lead you to believe it’s free. You can only document 10 books before they start to charge you.

### 1/5 — Good in theory

*2022-11-07, version 1.2.2*

Does not allow you to do timers for multiple kids. Once I clicked out of the app the timers started over and reset themselves to the timer I previously set. Also does not allow you to track pages read in real time. (i.e. - after 30 mins I cannot track that my child finished at page 40 from 30.)

### 2/5 — Free app is too limited

*2022-08-15, version 1.2.1*

It was a nice app, but the free version only let me track 11 books before it tried to force me to upgrade to the paid version. I ended up going with a different free app that didn’t have those limits.

### 3/5 — Reading time

*2021-11-27*

Reading is amazing,
It always makes you learn without knowing it.
I really enjoyed this apps because it inspired me to read a lot.
This is why I suggest this app for book lovers, but the only bad thing about the app is it is always asking for you to rate the app.

### 4/5 — Mostly like the update

*2026-07-23, version 2.0*

Overall, the update looks amazing! It looks great it behaves wonderfully it was very, very, very much needed. All that said the feature I used the most went away, and I am very annoyed by it. I use this app to track the reading of my three-year-old daughter so we are still on picture books: which means we sit down to read a book and 5 minutes later we finish it. So how I’ve been using Reading Time is simply as a log of books that have been read. I enter the books into the library, and then add them to her read list. In the old version, I could bulk add all the books that had not already been added at one time to her list. In the new version, apparently I can add books that have already been read. And now I have to remember what the new books all are and add them one at a time, which is very very VERY ANNOYING.

### 4/5 — Page number

*2026-04-15, version 1.2.3*

It would be cool to track page number you are on

### 4/5 — So far so good

*2024-02-06, version 1.2.2*

Im really enjoying this simple app. I can track mine and my kids books and absolutely love the scan feature!! Thanks for an awesome affordable app!! Also could you please add a page tracker under the currently reading category? Thanks :)

### 4/5 — Jop

*2022-09-22, version 1.2.2*

New jop

### 4/5 — Missing features

*2022-08-23, version 1.2.1*

This is a great app, but it is missing some features like page I began on & page I ended. As well as the time & day I started reading.

### 4/5 — Great app!

*2022-06-02, version 1.2*

I love this app so far I’ve only used it to track one book, but I can already tell its a great app! The only thing I don’t like is that you can only add two profiles, because I’m one of 3 kids in my house, and only 2 of us can track our reading, without having to pay the premium. Other than that, this app is great!

### 5/5 — Only app of its kind

*2024-06-23, version 1.2.2*

To be honest, I don’t like the design and styling of the app, but it literally the ONLY app of its kind that allows you to track multiple people (in my case 2 kids) at once.

Def needs a log in tho so me, my wife and each grandparent can keep track of all of our books read to the kiddo.

### 5/5 — Happy user

*2024-06-22*

I was curious to know how many hours it took me to read a book so I can plan how many books to take on a holiday. This app has been the best. It is easy to add a book and super easy to track. Adding in Apple Watch ⌚️ will make it even more magnificent.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-01-07, version 1.2.2*

If you like tracking books pick this app

### 5/5 — Spoiled

*2024-01-07, version 1.2.2*

This book is really good. Kimberly is also really funny. I like this book a lot because Kimberly’s so fun, and makes this book amazing.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2023-12-11, version 1.2.2*

I really like this app for using with my children. I love that the book cover displays and you can add a picture if one is not shown. The ability to search the internet is also great. I only wish I could select multiple books at once to add to my childrens’ reading logs. Sometimes I load multiple books at a time and it would be nice to be able to do it all at once instead of having to go back over and over. I think the full version is a great value!

### 5/5 — Great reading tracker

*2023-06-28, version 1.2.2*

I was looking for something that would track my son’s reading times. We did upgrade the app, it was super cheap and worth it. Now he can keep track of his time, what books he is reading and what he wants to read, make notes etc. Exactly what I needed.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2021-09-07, version 1.1*

Love this app. We are using it to keep track of our whole families read books. It is helping us track our 1000 books before kindergarten. Love how easy it is to use. 😍

### 5/5 — Great simple app

*2020-07-28, version 1.0.5*

We love this app for tracking our homeschool reading as we are required to show an evaluator a reading log! This makes it super easy, no internet needed. Makes it simple to track multiple children in one place.

### 5/5 — Great Features

*2020-05-14, version 1.0.5*

I love the timer and the stopwatch. I wish it would have the option to mark the page I am on and tell me how much I need to read to finish a book or a goal I set for myself

### 5/5 — Every family needs this app!

*2019-05-17, version 1.0.2*

I love Family Reading Time so much. As a mom of four readers, it’s impossible to keep track of who is reading what and how long they’ve been reading. This app does it all for you! Your older kids can enter their own times, book titles, and book reviews/notes. It’s super easy to add books and times for your younger kids, too. This is great for summer reading programs or other reading challenges, or you can create your own reading challenge in your family. Highly recommend!
