## What is Readitation?

Readitation is a contemplative RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) reader: one word at a time, displayed at the speed
  you choose.

The King James Bible is bundled and offline. No accounts. No servers. No telemetry. No analytics. No ads. No third-party
SDKs. Your reading position lives on your phone and stays there.

WHY ONE WORD AT A TIME

Traditional reading is the eye scanning across lines of text. Each scan ends with a brief eye-movement — a saccade — to
find the next word. Saccades take time, and at high reading speeds they're the bottleneck. RSVP removes the scan: the next
word lands in the same place the previous one did. You stay still and read.

  WHY "READ + MEDITATION"

This isn't a speed-reading app. Recent research (Rayner 2014–2016, Hester/Werner 2016) shows comprehension begins to drop
sharply above ~550 WPM. Readitation's calibration speeds top out where the comprehension band ends. The framing here is
contemplative — slow enough to dwell on a Psalm, fast enough to read a chapter in a few minutes. Tap to pause. Swipe to
slow down or speed up. Read the Bible the way you'd recite a poem to yourself.

  ORP (OPTIMAL RECOGNITION POINT)

Every word has a single letter the eye fixates on naturally, called the Optimal Recognition Point. Readitation highlights
this letter in red and pins it to the same horizontal position on screen, word after word. Your eye doesn't move; only the
  words change.

  CALIBRATION

  First launch walks you through:
  1. A photosensitive epilepsy safety warning.
  2. Three explainer slides covering ORP, tap-to-pause, and swipe-to-change-speed.
  3. A guided cycle through Psalm 23 at five speeds.
  4. Pick the speed that felt comfortable — it becomes your default.

If iOS Reduce Motion is enabled, the higher speeds drop out automatically.
