### 4/5 — Overall a good RSS reader

*2026-05-01, version 3.4.4*

I do like this app, but there are some things that would be nice to see improved if it’s being updated at all.

1. When there’s an error syncing a feed, the only options we have are to Unsubscribe or Clear Errors. It would be nice to be able to copy the URL in some way to investigate further whether the sync error is because the RSS link has been discontinued, or if it’s a temporary problem that can be ignored.

2. A number of YouTube videos playing in the app are in any number of languages. I imagine that’s something in the way Google feeds the data to an RSS reader. But I don’t know if it’s possible in this app to be able to change the language of video that’s playing in it.

3. Once you’ve cleared all the feeds in the app, it would be nice if the focus remained on the Unread option so the next time you put focus on the app, it is already showing you the newest unread items. A very minor thing, but just a smoother user experience in my mind.

### 3/5 — Good, but rough around the edges

*2026-04-30*

I still use it daily as I prefer the user experience over Reeder, but I am finding lots of rough edges where things don't work well or at all. For a paid version 3.x, this is unacceptable.

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2026-03-26, version 3.4.4*

Like this a lot and paid for lifetime. Just wish it had an option to automatically load full article text for selected feeds rather than requiring an additional gesture.

### 3/5 — Almost…

*2026-03-12, version 3.4.4*

I was looking forward to using this application with my FreshRSS instance, but it doesn’t appear to support OAuth for authentication.

### 4/5 — Great but not perfect

*2026-03-08*

Great set of features and I like it - also knowing that it’s supported over many years now!
What’s buggy: I use Miniflux and RSS-Bridge behind it for some feeds and some of those don’t show up with a feed icon… other readers like Lire or so show them and also Miniflux via webui.
Also it would be nice to be able to put the feed title and icon in the article list to the bottom of each article or hide them..

### 3/5 — App works great with FredhRSS however...

*2026-02-24*

... integration with Instapaper doesn't work as it should, and that's a shame since this was the main reason I installed this app and bought a yearly subscription. I sent an email to support but didn't get any reply.

### 4/5 — Raindrop support

*2026-01-20, version 3.4.3*

I like it very much but can you please add support for raindrop as a read later service

### 3/5 — Underline offset needed

*2025-12-13, version 3.4.2*

Letters can overlap with underline. Please add offset to improve text legibility.

### 4/5 — Simple and effective reader

*2025-12-07, version 3.4.2*

I’m using this for a while now. It’s simple to use and uses bunch of accts. Works flawlessly with FreshRSS and wallabag which I self host.

My only gripe is that it doesn’t offer a sepia background which would be great during the light mode.

### 5/5 — Gets everything perfect

*2025-11-30*

I heard about this app when one of my favorite podcasters mentioned he used it as his RSS reader. I’d been using a reader that hadn’t been substantially updated for years, and I figured I’d give this a try.

This organizes feeds just the way I want, and has great options on viewing and without getting overwhelming. The liquid glass touches are perfect, and is a sign that the developer is continuing to put care into this app.

Back in the day of the original NetNewsWire I was the king of smart folders, and it’s great that this app has this capability (premium subscription required).

I also really appreciate that this app works (as an iPad app) on Apple Vision Pro.

### 5/5 — good

*2025-11-26, version 3.4.2*

good

### 5/5 — Bester Feedreader

*2025-11-13*

### 5/5 — The most modern, simple RSS reader

*2025-11-11*

ReadKit has a stunning design interface that gives good amounts of customization for the reading experience. The readability features provide meaningful enhancements to the RSS experience, and the AI summary feature is one of the neatest little implementations of Apple Intelligence. After the free trial, a lifetime subscription was the easiest decision.

### 4/5 — Really nice

*2025-11-11, version 3.4.2*

Some rough edges here and there in the Ui, but best in class otherwise. Nice job!

### 3/5 — Almost there

*2025-11-07*

I really want to like this app, and it gets a lot right. The biggest reason why I’m not sticking with it is because the reading view has persistent toolbars at the top and bottom that won’t go away, and there’s no setting to help.

The other smaller thing that I could live with but would like to see improved is the article list view. I would like more options, like removing the favicon and putting the headline above the publication.

### 3/5 — liquid glass update breaks distraction free reading

*2025-10-24, version 3.4.0*

just what the title says. in the latest update, there’s no way to scroll to hide the ui elements at the top or bottom of the screen, leading to a very distracting reading experience.

### 5/5 — Awesome RSS Reader

*2025-10-15, version 3.3.3*

ReadKit works great with Miniflux and is one of the few clients that supports the official API. Swipes and gestures make it easy to navigate between articles.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — WTF is Going on???

*2026-04-08, version 3.4.4*

Readkit doesn’t work. PERIOD. Nothing works. To make it worse there is now number to call to get Tech. HELP. These people don’t respond to emails asking for help.

### 1/5 — UI Issues and no support

*2026-04-02, version 3.4.4*

I have a lifetime subscription to ReadKit and I want to give it every chance to be great - I’ve been a syndication-feed user for over 20 years now.

However, the program for months and months and months has a UI issue where the article column completely disappears.

I submitted support on this and was met with complete silence from the developer.

I’m tired of letting these things slide. Maybe it’s a Tahoe problem - but this makes the app completely unusable .

### 1/5 — subscription

*2025-12-06*

I’ve bought lifetime versions for iOS and macOS in June of 2023 and now you’re asking me to by it again? are you serious?

### 1/5 — Lack of support

*2025-05-22*

It used to be useful but since several weeks the sync with feedly is broken.
Mail sent to the dev and no feedback, no response, no fix so far.
If you plan to use it with feedly, know that at this moment it does not work.

### 1/5 — 機能不全

*2024-09-19*

macOS Seqoiaで設定項目がほとんど機能しない

### 1/5 — Can't do anything with it.

*2024-05-02, version 3.1.10*

I can't add multiple folders. It doesn't sync to my phone or ipad. Seems like such a good app and can't do anything with it. Sent an email to the support email, and nothing.

### 1/5 — Kind of half-baked

*2024-03-04, version 3.1.10*

You can read snippits or ad-riddled pages. Probably better to just use Safari. Reader mode is available for $20, but it’s free in Safari.

### 1/5 — The app is beautiful, but...

*2023-06-24*

Why am I been forced to choose between light and dark mode? I normally read with a sepia background. I am willing to pay for the lifetime subscription. Can you please consider adding more options in this regard?

### 1/5 — Developer unresponsive

*2023-05-25*

Good alternative to Newsify and Reeder but with need for some minor fixes: 1. Reading and article doesn’t mark it as read and there is no gesture to mark all as read (eg, swiping down) 2. Background sync is random; many times it doesn’t happen for a long interval and it’s as if the app updates when it decides to. The Mac version can specify the sync interval so why can’t the iOS version? 3. Embedded tweets don’t display in the web view I’ve reached out to the developer multiple times and have never heard back. The main advantage of this over Newsify (which has some advantages) is the seemingly built-in content blocker support that fixes some problematic ads on various sites.

ADDENDUM: I deleted the app. Never ever got any response from the developer and there were too many bugs on iPadOS and iOS (different bugs on each OS) and I’d rather use an app like Newsify that is well supported and works well.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — App works great with FreshRSS and I love the way reading mode looks

*2026-07-22*

I tried a lot of apps that would integrate with FreshRSS and Wallabag, but always found them lacking. ReadKit on the other hand is really good and has a great Reader mode also.

While there are some stuff missing like hotkeys, and maybe ability to highlight, this app is great for what it's made to do. I even bought the lifetime license

### 5/5 — Un des meilleurs lecteur RSS

*2026-04-15*

### 5/5 — The most modern, simple RSS reader

*2026-03-08*

ReadKit has a stunning design interface that gives good amounts of customization for the reading experience. The readability features provide meaningful enhancements to the RSS experience, and the AI summary feature is one of the neatest little implementations of Apple Intelligence. After the free trial, a lifetime subscription was the easiest decision.

### 5/5 — Great iOS platform citizen

*2026-03-06*

ReadKit is a great iOS platform citizen. I particularly appreciate the robustness of its state restoration: every time after I switch to other apps (even for a long time) and then switch back to ReadKit, everything is exactly where they were.

### 5/5 — auto hiding toolbars return

*2026-03-04*

finally, we can scroll to hide toolbars again. this was a major distraction while reading since the iOS 26 redesign. now we can once again have that distraction disappear for a nicer reading experience.

### 5/5 — RSS at its finest

*2026-03-02, version 3.4.4*

This latest update moved ReadKit to my Home Screen!

### 5/5 — New favorite RSS reader

*2026-01-14*

I used Reeder for years and years and was satisfied until they released the overhauled version that completely changed everything I knew and loved about it. I’m so glad I gave ReadKit a try. It’s everything I loved about the classic version of Reeder, and more. Happily bought a premium subscription, though it’s remarkably feature-rich even without it (especially if you use a sync service like Feedly).

### 5/5 — It has everything I need out of an RSS Reader

*2026-01-07*

I first tried the app two years ago, and at the time it wasn't quite ready to replace Reeder for me. I'm glad that I gave it another shot. Everything works exactly as I expect it to. It reliably refreshes from my self-hosted miniflux instance. The gestures all feel very natural to use. Overall, I'm very pleased with the app's features, and I can't imagine wanting anything else out of an RSS Reader.

### 5/5 — I recommend

*2025-12-21*

Works well with TT RSS using Fever emulation

### 5/5 — My favorite RSS reader on Mac and iOS

*2025-12-01*

I heard about this app when one of my favorite podcasters mentioned he used it as his RSS reader. I’d been using a reader that hadn’t been substantially updated for years, and I figured I’d give this a try.
