## What is Readuet?

Readuet plays an audiobook while you read the matching ebook, aligned sentence by sentence. The sentence being narrated is lit as you go, so your eyes and ears stay together instead of drifting apart. Podcasts work the same way: open an episode and it reads along like a book.

Tap any word you don't know. A translation of that word, in that sentence, appears right under it in your language, with the word's CEFR level. Tap it again for its grammar and pronunciation, and Readuet keeps it for you.

READ ALONG
• Follow real books at native speed without losing your place
• Hear pronunciation in context, not from a word list
• Press and hold any sentence, then tap Play from here to send the narrator there
• Stuck on a whole sentence? Press and hold it and tap Translate sentence
• Two pages side by side on iPad and on an unfolded iPhone Duo

PODCASTS YOU CAN READ
• Search shows in eleven languages, or start from a shelf picked for learners, tagged by level
• Open an episode and it reads along like a book, every word a tap away from a translation
• Follow shows, and your Library keeps new episodes grouped by show

VOCABULARY THAT LOOKS AFTER ITSELF
• Words are kept by dictionary form: learn one form and every form of it counts
• Saved words are tinted by difficulty, A1 to C2, and the tint fades as you retain them
• Reading past a word without tapping it counts as a review
• Spaced-repetition reviews (FSRS) bring words back right before you'd forget
• Every word keeps the sentence you first met it in
• Today's story: a short daily passage written from the words you're learning, at your level

A FREE LIBRARY, READ-ALONG INCLUDED
• Over 1,000 public-domain classics in nine languages, with their narration, already aligned
• Most of them carry a reading level, A2 to C2, so you can read at yours

BRING YOUR OWN BOOKS
• Upload an EPUB, FB2 or TXT with its MP3, M4A or M4B audiobook, multi-file audiobooks included
• Reading along about 30 seconds after you add a book; the rest lines up while you read

LISTENING MODE
• One tap turns the reader into a player without losing your place
• Sleep timer that can stop at the end of the chapter, captions, lock-screen controls and a home-screen widget

KEEP YOUR PLACE EVERYWHERE
• Your position follows you between iPhone, iPad and the web
• Sync with KOReader, so an e-ink reader and your phone agree
• Kindle users can photograph the page to jump to the same passage
• Download books for offline reading and listening

TRACK THE HABIT
• Daily reading, listening and review goals, a streak and a six-month activity map
• A yearly reading goal, and your vocabulary broken down by CEFR level

SUBSCRIPTIONS
Free: the library with read-along, your own ebooks and the vocabulary engine, with 25 new words or sentences a day after the first week. Two optional auto-renewing subscriptions lift that limit:
• Solo — unlimited translations, your own audiobooks lined up whenever you ask, and any podcast episode: $4.99 per month, or $29.99 per year
• Duet — everything in Solo, plus the live highlight in your own books, read-along on any podcast episode, and today's story: $7.99 per month, or $49.99 per year
Both start with a one-week free trial. Prices are in US dollars and vary by region. Transcription on the paid plans is subject to fair use.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before that period ends. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.15.0 — 2026-11-02

• Add any book from the free library and read it. Narration on books not yet prepared comes with a plan.
• The plans screen is clearer: monthly prices first, what a year saves, and what each plan does with podcasts.
• See at a glance what Duet adds to Solo, including the live highlight in your own books.
• At the daily translation limit, See plans now opens the plans.
• On library books still being prepared, the highlight now keeps up on Solo too.

### 1.11.1 — 2026-10-28

Two-page reading on foldables and tablets

• On a wide screen, like an unfolded iPhone Duo or a tablet on its side, books open as a two-page spread.
• On foldables, buttons and panels stay clear of the fold, and stood half-folded on a table the player moves below it.
• In word review, “Remove word” drops a word you don't want to learn without marking it known.
• Unusually heavy, automated-looking use now pauses briefly with a clear message instead of a generic error.
• If your phone's language isn't one the app supports, it now shows in English instead of German.

### 1.10.0 — 2026-10-24

Open free books straight from readuet.com

• A free book on readuet.com now opens in the app with one tap — no account needed to start reading.
• You can now rate Readuet in the App Store or Google Play from Settings.
• Word practice introduces easy words first, and the words ring now fills from practice, not reading.
• In word review, the next card appears the moment you rate one.
• A book being prepared no longer gets stuck if processing is interrupted — it resumes where it stopped.

### 1.9.1 — 2026-10-22

Tapping a new word or phrase no longer stalls for seconds while its level loads, and phrases now get a level.

### 1.9.0 — 2026-10-21

A big update since our first release:
• Podcasts: find shows in your language, follow them and listen to any episode; on Duet, read along as you listen.
• Translate a whole sentence: tap "Translate sentence" on a word, or long-press a sentence and choose Translate.
• Audiobooks and episodes open within seconds and finish syncing with their text about twice as fast.
• Tap a picture to see it full screen and zoom in; a speaker button plays any word again.
• Nested chapter lists, fuller pages, and a left-edge swipe to turn back a page.
• An optional daily reminder when a reading, listening or review goal is still open.
• Setup asks which language to translate words into, and books marked with the wrong language are now read in the right one.
• Plus faster covers, saved words highlighted in all their forms, and many fixes.
