### 2/5 — Good app but……

*2026-08-28, version 1.26*

I have the free version which comes with the annoying ads which I don’t mind but there’s quite a few of them that are downright awful and dangerous. Ads suggesting my phones been hacked, my PDF reader is out of date with an invitation to download some random app I’ve never heard of. And there’s always Temu…. Note to developer, you’ve made a useful app here, don’t spoil it by taking the money from what seems to be dodgy in app ads. Just sayin….

### 2/5 — Ads killing it for me

*2026-06-20, version 1.26*

Like the app and use it a lot but the ads are now ruining the experience. I have quite a few apps on my phone that supply ads but the ones pushed to the user on this one are the most intrusive.

### 3/5 — Too many ads some of which are inappropriate such as fake admin tools to alter your device.

*2025-12-13, version 1.26*

Great app but the ads need calming down regardless of whether you pay for a subscription. The type and intensity spoils the whole experience.

### 3/5 — Spam

*2025-11-27, version 1.26*

An iPhone clean up app is taking over the screen if you select a beer for more info.

### 3/5 — Useful when it works

*2025-04-23, version 1.26*

Definitely not working now despite deleting and downloading again.

### 3/5 — Good but could be better.

*2023-12-02, version 1.25*

I like the app and use it a fair bit great to see what on at local pubs or places your visiting.

Suggestions:

Rating for beers as lots of beers are the same or look very different would be good to know if I’ve tried before and if I like it.

Sharing needs to be better. If I click share it just shares the app. Not the beer I’m sharing with a friend.

Notifications are on but don’t seem to be working.

Shortcuts to my fav things

Thanks.

### 2/5 — iOS Bug

*2022-07-25, version 1.24*

When I try to inform you of a pub not on the list, your form doesn’t let me get to a field in which to enter the pub’s name 😠 (I’m using an iPhone X; iOS 15.2)

### 4/5 — Good idea, needs more pubs.

*2019-10-26, version 1.1*

As the title says

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Pay or suffer ads

*2026-07-30, version 1.26*

Looks like it’s been hacked due to some of the ‘ads’ but this seems to be known about by developer.
Virtually impossible to use for free because of the intrusive ads as once a beer is selected, the nuisance screens appear.
Now there’s a £5.99 annual fee to remove them which is expensive compared to similar ads - but in fairness it seems to work.

### 1/5 — Ads upon ads

*2026-05-01*

No option to remove ads, contrary to app description and I get unremovable ads which force me to come out of the app and re-open it. Looks like it’s been hacked due to some of the ‘ads’ but this seems to be known about by developer.
Virtually impossible to use because of the intrusive ads as once a beer is selected, the nuisance screens appear.

### 1/5 — Hacked

*2026-02-06, version 1.26*

App appears to have been hacked. Getting a pop up saying phone has several viruses and to click a link within 60 seconds to resolve it. Was a good resource but until the app is safe I’m not using it

### 1/5 — No privacy

*2025-12-13, version 1.26*

After going through and turning off about 30 useless privacy stealing companies and finding I was like 10% of the way through the list - avoid

### 1/5 — Too much privacy invasion

*2025-07-17, version 1.26*

There is no “reject all” option. After FIVE minutes turning things off I gave up and deleted the app. I don’t care how good the app is.

### 1/5 — Obtrusive adverts

*2024-04-21, version 1.25*

Full screen adverts popping up is horrible. Immediate delete.

### 1/5 — Useless - Needs development

*2022-12-24, version 1.24*

App gets location wrong, not changeable from menu. Map displayed doesn't show three micro pubs near me! Will delete.

### 1/5 — App no longer works. Just hangs.

*2022-12-09, version 1.24*

Stopped working yesterday. Don’t know if it was an update or iOS update.

### 1/5 — Poor

*2022-01-24, version 1.21*

Hardly any pubs in London. I favourited one beer to see where it might be on, got a random list of pubs in Scotland and the north.

And who has google ads on an app? So annoying. Now deleted.

### 1/5 — Adverts

*2021-12-01, version 1.21*

This app used to be great to help find what the local pubs had in but now you get adverts every time you click on a beer. I get that you need advertising but an advert free version would be good, especially as the latest adds are in Chinese with no way of getting rid of them

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Really helpful

*2024-09-19, version 1.26*

This app can be really useful, the benefit limiter is how frequently pubs update. It is helpful that the app shares that information. What is served makes a big difference as to whether I visit a pub or not. Therefore I am very grateful for this and it deserves a higher score than it has. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Life saver

*2024-09-11, version 1.26*

As some one with a hubby who loves beer but is a coeliac. This really helps with his embarrassment of going in to bars to ask if they have gluten free beer only to get a no or offer gf peroni. I hope more bars and pubs join soon to make life even easier.
App is easy to use and free as a consumer which is awesome. Adverts are a pain but worth it to keep it free

### 5/5 — Great idea and works well when bars you frequent keep it up to date

*2023-01-23, version 1.24*

I use this when visiting the north west as the app is a really handy way of knowing whether it’s worth popping into a particular bar on your travels to have a beer you will really like. It would be even better if more bars in London took the trouble to keep there beer selection up to date.

### 5/5 — Useful tool. Persuade your local to use it!

*2021-08-26, version 1.1*

A fine example of an app with excellent signal to noise ratio.
It shows pubs, the beer & cider they’re offering and where they are.
I love it.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2020-03-16, version 1.1*

A welcome tool for pubs and drinkers alike. We find it very helpful for keeping our regulars up to date. Recommended for drinkers and pubs.
One improvement would be to allow more than one device to support the log in on the pub owners version, at the moment only one of the team can own/update, as when someone else logs in, the other is kicked out. Thanks for this.

### 5/5 — Great idea

*2019-02-06, version 1.0*

I can always see if there’s anything I’ll enjoy at my local pubs before I leave the house. Really helps deciding where to go. Great idea, I just hope more pubs/micro pubs/etc start signing up.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-01-29, version 1.0*

Simple and easy to use for landlords and drinkers. Highly recommend

### 4/5 — Great idea marred by the ads

*2026-02-16, version 1.26*

I really want to love this app and it’s very close to 5 star….but.
1. I HATE Temu with a passion and their ads don’t even have an easy close button on them. Give us a pay option where we can get rid of the constant ads please.
2. A bit more description would be better. Lazy brewers make hazy beers and I’m not a fan of the taste. I’d like to be able to screen out hazy beers but the descriptions don’t make it clear which are hazy and which aren’t.

### 4/5 — Good bit so buggy

*2024-03-12, version 1.25*

Good app but keep crashing needs and randomly notifies if pubs not in my stuff list, some work needs to be done to get stars.

### 4/5 — Useful to identify gluten-free ales

*2022-10-09, version 1.24*

As a coeliac, I find this app particularly useful to spot when local pubs are selling gluten-free ales. Would be even better if breweries/pubs could identify their beers as such, rather than relying on my own research, but that’s a small quibble.
On the same point, the current listing for Gun Brewery’s Zamzama suggests it is gluten-free; it isn’t. I contacted the brewery to check. They do make a number of g-f beers, but (unfortunately) Zamzama isn’t one of them.
PS The app has required a bit more effort to use since the inclusion of Wetherspoon’s pubs: their omnipresence tends to crowd out the smaller, independent places (hence only a four-star review). Neverspoons ;-)
