Deleting all cookies is easy. Staying logged in afterwards is the hard part. Real Cookie Cleaner clears the cookies of one site at a time — the site you are actually looking at — and leaves everything else alone. WHAT IT DOES • Clears cookies for the current site, including HttpOnly cookies that a page script cannot even see. • Careful mode keeps the cookies that log you in, so cleaning a site does not sign you out of it. • Exclusions: a site on your list is never touched, on this device. • Tells you the outcome honestly — including "partly cleared" and "could not determine", instead of a green checkmark it did not earn. • Works in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • No account, no sign-up. • No subscription, no in-app purchases. You buy the app once. • No network requests. Nothing about your browsing leaves the device — there is nothing on our side to leave to. • No analytics, no third-party libraries, no ads. ABOUT THE PERMISSION WARNING Safari will tell you this extension "can read your browsing history". That sentence describes what the permission allows, not what the app does. Real Cookie Cleaner asks for access to one site at a time, only when you use it, and never requests permanent access to every site. You can verify that yourself in Safari's settings — the permission list is the one privacy claim you do not have to take on trust. Exclusions are stored on the device. Lists on your iPhone and your Mac are separate. ## Version history (last 4 releases) ### 1.3 — 2026-09-07 After a clean that fully succeeds, the extension can now offer a link to rate the app. It appears once, and only after a result the extension could actually confirm - never over "partly cleared". Fixed the "Open Safari settings" button failing silently when more than one copy of the app was installed. It now says what went wrong and where the setting lives. The extension's version number now matches the app's, so Safari's settings tell you which build you have. ### 1.2 — 2026-09-03 This update is about reach and readability. • Every screen scrolls now, so buttons stay reachable at any text size and in any language. • Long words in headlines scale down to fit instead of breaking in the middle. • VoiceOver: the back button has a spoken label, decorative icons are skipped, and a numbered step reads as one item. • Removing a site from Exclusions now has a full-size tap target. • iPad: the exclusions list scrolls instead of being cut off. • "Back" is now translated in every language the app supports. Nothing changed in what the extension does with your cookies, and the app still has no account and no analytics. ### 1.1 — 2026-08-31 This update follows a full security and privacy audit of the app against the OWASP Mobile Application Security Verification Standard. WHAT CHANGED FOR YOU • Safe mode is now visible before the first clean. On the confirmation screen you can see that "Safe mode — keep sign-in cookies where possible" is on, and switch it off, without having to clean the site first. Before, that screen warned you that you might have to sign in again while giving you no way to see that safe mode was already protecting your sign-in cookies. • Fixed a bug that could silently stop exclusions added in the app from reaching the extension. In rare cases that meant cookies were cleared on a site you had chosen to protect. If you have ever added an exclusion on iPhone or iPad, this fix matters to you. • "Clear log" now also clears the record of your last clean. It leaves your exclusions and your already-confirmed sites alone, so clearing the log no longer makes the app ask you again for every site. • The list of already-confirmed sites no longer grows without limit. It is capped, and the oldest entries fall off. PRIVACY AND SECURITY • Diagnostic messages are scrubbed more thoroughly. Intranet names, single-word site names and bare IPv6 addresses can no longer end up in the local activity log. • Removed two macOS capabilities the app never used, including outgoing network access. The app makes no network requests of any kind — now the signed app cannot make them either, and you can verify that yourself from the app's entitlements. • Added Apple's privacy manifest, declaring the only reason-required API the app uses: the shared storage that lets the app and the extension see the same exclusions list. • Corrected the privacy policy so that it describes exactly what is stored and what can be erased on each platform, including the fact that the extension's settings page cannot be opened on iPhone and iPad.
