Or you can use Google maps to get your favorite boating or sailing location latitude and longitude. Enter the data into this app and get pinpoint wind speed, wind gusts, wind direction and other data. You can toggle between wind speed in mph, knots or m/s. For people who sail this can add to your arsenal of information so you can pack the right sails and gear before you go to your favorite location. Note: the weather information is from OpenWeather and as the state, "We provide data for any coordinates by utilizing our proprietary OpenWeather Weather model. OpenWeather’s advanced ML-based numerical weather model performs at up to 500 m resolution and allows its users to consider highly local nuances of climate and build accurate, efficient products. The model uses a number of data sources - radars, models from global meteorological agencies (e.g., Met Office, NOAA, ECMWF), weather satellites, and a vast network of weather stations."
