Clean *2026-04-18, version 2.8* This application was very nice. It has clean and easy to use interface and does the basics really well. Having said that, I wish that it improved on basic things like resume playing and support for chapters. ### 4/5 — Expect navigation when viewing pictures *2026-01-10, version 2.8* After opening a picture, it cannot be better if can go next without closing current. For full sbs pictures, expect app opening it with correct size. But as a photo viewer, it's useless because you can't move between photos in a folder. Hope to have some feature to move to next picture instead of exit and click new picture. ### 4/5 — One of the best 360x180 Viewers *2024-12-09* Reality Viewer offers a clean straightforward inerface. However, without any options to modify the display (e.g. saturation, sharpness) or direction of view. It is just 2D or 3D, VR180 or VR360 and immersive or window mode. The main advantage which makes Reality Player stand out from competing apps is the correct visualization of the Zenith and Nadir shots. Both pixels at +90° and -90° are correctly interpolated in immersive view. They do not show the „star-like“ visualization artifacts that all other 360x180° viewers show (I have tested 6 of them). However, Reality Player also has one unique disadvantage: when images are adequately sharpened, the image display shows high-frequency flickering towards the outer margins of the field of view. This can be disturbing. Other viewers do not show flickering with same images (12,568x6,284 pixels) and and identical degree of sharpening. I am not sure, but it appears that the „graphic engine“ of Reality Viewer applies a higher default degree of sharpening than other viewers. If the flickering issue could be resolved in an update, it would make Reality Viewer top of the list with a 5-Star Rating. ### 3/5 — Decent with some issues *2024-11-10, version 2.6* Works ok but cannot play HDR content. ### 4/5 — Great *2024-09-23* Great vr180 picture viewer. It plays top and bottom as well as side-by-side 3-D files. It also plays standard MP4 files really well. The things that now need to be enabled is the ability to play .MKV files, once that’s completed it will be a really good round player. The only other issue that affects this app as it does many other apps is the dropping frames issue, it’s not on all videos, but it’s on quite a lot. Not sure how that can be fixed ### 4/5 — Nice 3D movie player *2024-04-10* The player has great potential it plays 3DSBS movies quite well, but does not play top/bottom. The only slight issue I have is that for some reason it leaves the bar and the x at the bottom while the movies playing which can be off putting the,for standard definition files it plays them very well, but strange enough doesn’t leave the X and the bar at the bottom would be great if that could be moved and lastly, it would be great if the player could support MKV files because it’s quite a common format. ### 4/5 — Not quite 5 stars yet... but I have hopes! *2024-03-25, version 1.5.1* I was having a hard time getting my Mac mini to stream to the Vision Pro. Never could get it to happen with Moon Player, I installed this app and it was automatic... Video can be shaky at times and I wish it had a few features that Moon did but it's a great program and it answered a problem that I had spent many hours trying to solve. Would be nice if you could just put an extension on your files to indicate to the player the format of the video. Also needs to play Top/Bottom videos (just does SBS right now). For Spatial photos (180 or regular) there is no close button and the only way to exit the app is by killing it I really enjoy using this app with the canon R7 and the new fish eye lens. The app allows me to see both my spatial stills videos directly from my photo library. I wish if there was a way to swipe through the pictures while immersed in them, and there is a continuous bug in connecting the app with the photo gallery, which is solved by reconnecting ### 1/5 — Scam *2024-05-01, version 2.0.5* Does nothing without connecting to your Google account. It‘s really great, I haven‘t found anything yet, I was not able to display. And with RealityPlayer I am able to watch my spatial pictures without the softened edges Apple implements in the Photos app (and crops many images through it!). There would be one wish/ proposal, but I am not sure, if it‘s supported from Apples frameworks: When browsing photos or films from the photo library immersively, it would be fantastic, if there would be a gesture, to load the next picture/ film in the photo library! Please, please, please … if it‘s possible, please implement it! 🙏 (Or is it possible already, and I was not able to figure it out?) Another addition, that would be really useful: Implement the ShareSheet extension, so that it would be possible, to send a picture from the photos app directly to RealityPlayer. Reads both from Files and Photos. Only issue is, sometimes the first few seconds of playback is flat/2D. Also happens at random times. ### 5/5 — VR180 16K Support *2024-04-21, version 2.0* I used it as a viewer for 16K VR180 SBS still images, data from 8K still images taken with an EOS R5 and upscaled 2x with Topaz Photo AI. The combination of this app, Visiion Pro, and 16K VR180 still images was the best and only VR experience, although it was unstable. However, one day, due to an OS or app update, I was unable to open any 16K VR180 still images. Thanks! *2024-02-08, version 1.2.2* It stutters a bit when moving your head while playing videos, but photos work perfectly. Hopefully in the future there will be an option to swipe between all of the photos in a folder without having to open each photo separately.
