Two major complaints at the moment: (1) the interface remains too clunky—getting through all the screens asking you to creatively journal about your character is annoying for casual play (maybe have option to disable writing prompts?)—and (2) after several lives played both on iPhone and iPad versions I can play in areas with serious problems and still be more than fine. If I say I refuse to confess to the police I am automatically released without any consequences, which has to be a bug. Also, is there a problem with your event multipliers? I’ve done a number of maternal health themed plays and never seen anyone have any problems. And violent areas don’t kill pcs or npcs. And it seems like car accidents would have happened at least once so far. (3) Can you add extended family? It is strange when you are the only member of your family to be reproducing. ### 2/5 — Payment Issue *2025-02-14* I have paid but the application is not letting me play the full game, may I know why? ### 2/5 — I know you need money… *2025-01-30, version 2.6* Subscriptions are alright, especially with how cheap yours is, but we don’t really get to experience a life beforehand. I hate playing as a girl but I decided to try it, and then I died at 3. Such as, reading a book with friends makes my IQ drop drastically. Playing with friends makes my happiness plummet. Please fix!! It brings up the iOS App Store screen to pay, it approves it, then it says “error making purchase”. 😔 ### 3/5 — Sign up screen is the first screen *2024-01-19, version 1.0* I’ve played similar games and was interested to see an alternative. My first experience was not great, app starts and immediately lands on a login page with absolutely no information about why I should register. The app doesn’t attempt to sell itself before demanding details. This app needs an onboarding experience, that shows the user what they’ll get if they play the game and hand over their details to do so, and justify why the user needs to hand over details, what benefit is that to the user? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Buyer beware re: Renewal? *2026-06-09* I purchased this without any mention of a renewal term. Please reinstate my account as it’s a bit disingenuous to FINALLY fix it and then kick out paying users who have consistently supported this program over the years and through more than its share of rough builds. Apparently this business model thrives on providing a third-rate product, rarely updating it, and hitting you up for money every time you do. Just skip this. Since the recent changes, which add more flavour text and events, it has become unplayable. Even favourable outcomes to these events reduce your stats heavily. Asking a friend for help with your homework will give you text like “you worked out the problem and strengthened your bond,” but will lower your intelligence by 20 points. So, because your stats deteriorate as you age, you’ll be completely unemployable by the time you’re in your 40s thanks to these early childhood events (assuming you have high stats to begin with, which is not a certainty). Also, previous entries in the series got their facts from the CIA World Factbook or Wikipedia. Not the best resources, but more accountable than the AI generated slop the game provides now. Like 1900- and also like maybe a physical character being shown other then that the game is amazing ! ### 3/5 — Wish we could be royalty it’s one of my fav game features *2025-12-19* RealLives is an interesting and educational life simulation, especially with how it uses real-world data to show how different lives unfold across countries. It definitely makes you think about privilege, access, and opportunity. However, the experience feels limited in some ways. There’s no option to be born into royalty or royal families, even in countries where monarchies still exist. I get that the game aims for realism, but removing entire high-status life paths makes some playthroughs feel repetitive and less immersive. It’s a good concept with potential, but adding more diverse starting scenarios—especially elite or historical power roles—would improve replay value. ### 3/5 — Has potential *2025-08-17* This seems like it would be a great game, lots of information.
