### 3/5 — Close to perfection

*2026-07-01, version 1.6.4*

This is really close to being a good game. It obviously wasnt made for mobile devices though, the UI is very clunky and annoying sometimes. The game needs desperate balancing; GDP growth is near impossible even with all the appropriate research projects initiated.

### 4/5 — Good, but it needs more

*2025-01-31, version 1.6.4*

Great game I’ve been playing for years. I definitely think that the game should get a couple of updates if not, give us the next game because I love this game and still play on my phone and definitely think it would bring more attraction to the game if we could get more attention on the phone Gameplay.

### 2/5 — Really Laggy

*2024-11-03, version 1.6.4*

Love this game on the PC, bought the mobile version but is unfortunately unplayable as it’s so laggy. Is there a solution?

### 4/5 — Carino ma ci sono dei Bug

*2024-08-24, version 1.6.4*

### 3/5 — Just missed the mark

*2023-11-14, version 1.6.4*

Excellent strategy game. The game is very buggy. Will crash often. They didn't incorporate the pretty map version with detailed Terran and cities. Also a lot of poorly executed scripts. It's difficult to determine what happens sometimes as the game will just display the file name during an event in lieu of a description of the game event. So close to being a perfect app but they gave up on it unfortunately.

### 4/5 — We want an Arabic language in the game

*2023-03-15, version 1.6.4*

We want an Arabic language in the game

### 3/5 — Good game

*2022-06-10, version 1.6.4*

When is realpolitiks2 coming on the phone? i really love the game but this is getting unplayable because of the bugs!! Please fix it atleast until rp2 is on the phone😅

### 2/5 — Bit dissappointed

*2022-04-25, version 1.6.4*

This game is best for me but notch on iphone spoil it. This game not like other games that can make notch dissappear when playing

### 4/5 — Revelation

*2022-04-01*

Passé la surprise d un gameplay quelque peu fouillis on se laisse prendre au jeu dès les mécanismes d action compris !! Et la le temps passe …passe … passe
bref un bon jeu !!

### 3/5 — Bad

*2021-12-23, version 1.6.4*

Pretty easy u can play as Mexico and become richer and more powerful than all of Europe and America combined within 70 years . I hate the fact that poor countries literally don’t make enough money to survive and file bankruptcy as often as possible becoming extremely poor and china is useless in the game because they need unrealistic amounts of money to develop and the have no resources. But i must say playing as austria is incredibly fun and thats the only reason i give 3 stars

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Please add Chinese

*2025-05-26, version 1.6.4*

### 1/5 — Action point

*2023-07-08, version 1.6.4*

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on phones with notches.

*2023-03-01, version 1.6.4*

This would be a fantastic game, if Jujubee would update the UI to fit iPhones with notches (11/12/13/14).

So, if you have a phone with a camera/speaker notch on the screen, do not buy this, you cannot play it (there are buttons under the notches).

Apple doesn’t see this as a problem and will NOT refund the purchase, despite the game being borderline unplayable.

So, if you want to learn all about corporate/political greed and Capitalism, buy this game and try refund it - that will teach you all you need to know.

### 1/5 — Update

*2023-02-23, version 1.6.4*

Une mise à jour serait la bienvenue…

### 1/5 — Mały interfejs

*2023-02-13, version 1.6.4*

Gra ma bardzo nieczytelny interfejs, mała czcionka. A notch zasłania cześć menu.

### 1/5 — Баг с сохранением

*2022-11-18*

Этот баг был всегда со мной, на Xr, на 11 и на 13 про. Через дня 2 игры просто провисает игра, когда нажимаю «продолжить» ничего не происходит

### 1/5 — Stupid game

*2022-07-31, version 1.6.4*

Do not get you have to pay for even more DLCS and if you want to fight the UN it auto makes you loose i just lost days of progress countrys succh as USA Russia China Algeria and all that relations never go up even if everyone like you and your a small country they will always hate you this game is a complete scam

### 1/5 — Impossible to play of iPhone 12.

*2022-06-24, version 1.6.4*

Impossible to read almost everything. App uses the wrong form-factor wasting display space. Outdated. Deleted.

### 5/5 — Decapitated before Blossom (The Original Is Still the Champion)

*2026-02-10, version 1.6.4*

Date: February 9, 2026

This is the best version of Realpolitiks—and it’s not even close.

After playing Part 2 and Part 3, it’s clear why YouTubers like Many A True Nerd, Drew Durnil, and Quill18 spent far more time with the original. This entry had something special: clarity, elegance, and strong mechanical identity.

JuJu Games—please return to your roots.
This version is the champion sound.

There is so much room to expand this design while keeping it simple and intentional, exactly as the original vision intended. Sadly, the IP feels abandoned. Even worse, it feels poorly marketed.

Frankly, the publisher has done a lousy job bringing Realpolitiks into the spotlight.
This game is a gem—and it feels given up on.
Very sad. If I could, I’d invest to buy the property myself.

🔄 Review Update – February 20, 2025

Still a fun and engaging game, especially given today’s political climate. It naturally pushes the player to think more deliberately about decisions. Real-world politics aside—this game rewards intention.

Once you understand the mechanics, the experience becomes deeply satisfying.

Unfortunately, from gameplay footage and hands-on time, Part 2 shifts away from what made the original compelling. That’s a shame. The original had a powerful design language—an elegant expression of ideas through systems.

You can feel the creative chemistry between the designers and developers here. The systems talk to each other. Your choices matter. The foundation was strong—it just never fully evolved.

What Worked Exceptionally Well

✅ Battle Mechanics – Excellent foundation; only needed refinement
✅ Scenarios – Strong concept, but needed more variety and outcome modifiers
✅ Block Mechanics – Loved this system; elegant and readable

⸻

❌ Diplomacy – A Missed Opportunity (With a Simple Fix)

Diplomacy is where the game fell short.

There was real potential to add lightweight but meaningful depth without bloating the UI.

A Missed Design Opportunity

Diplomacy could have evolved into a simple engine-building card system, visually similar to the existing battle UI.

Inspired by games like:
	•	Race for the Galaxy
	•	Dominion
	•	Ascension

How It Could Have Worked:
	•	Diplomacy cards dynamically added to a nation’s “deck”
	•	Card availability tied to:
	•	Active Policies
	•	Economy / GDP
	•	HDI
	•	Population
	•	Civil Unrest

As your policy changes (as you add & remove), so does your diplomatic hand.

Card Examples:
	•	Trade Agreements
	•	Tariff Wars
	•	Shared Research (accelerates active policy projects)

When interacting with other nations—each with their own decks—you’d engage in strategic exchanges, adding tension and intentionality without overwhelming complexity.

This alone could have made diplomacy feel alive, reactive, and meaningful.

📜 Original 2022 Review (Preserved)

TL;DR:
This is a premium product — BUY IT.

Very fun. Very rewarding.

Details:

There’s plenty of gameplay on YouTube:
	•	Many A True Nerd
	•	Drew Durnil

Same game on iOS. If you’re here, buy it.

This is a grand strategy game, on the lighter side—but still rich with depth.
	•	Noob-friendly, but do your homework
	•	Understand the difference between 4X vs Grand Strategy

Issues (Still Relevant)
	•	❌ Font is way too small
	•	❌ Long load times when continuing iCloud tutorial saves
	•	❌ Tutorial text bugs (e.g., TUT_UNEMPL_P3_Mobile, PROJECT_TUT_P1_Mobile)
	•	❌ Missing or broken tutorial explanations
	•	❌ Needs a proper PDF manual with visuals
	•	❌ Controller support (MFi / Bluetooth) missing

Content & DLC

I would gladly pay for:
	•	More scenarios
	•	More variety
	•	Quality-of-life improvements
	•	Bug fixes and UI refinement

This is a premium game—and it deserves premium support.

⸻

Final Verdict

Realpolitiks (Original) remains the strongest entry in the series.

It had:
	•	Vision
	•	Identity
	•	Elegant mechanics

It deserved to grow—not be replaced.

If you enjoy thoughtful grand strategy without overwhelming complexity, this is still absolutely worth your time and money.

### 5/5 — Best strategy game full stop

*2026-01-25, version 1.6.4*

I am addicted to this game it’s easily the best strategy game not just on mobile but in general

### 5/5 — Best mobile game

*2025-09-27, version 1.6.4*

Love this game so much amazing

### 5/5 — A Masterpiece of Political Strategy—Addictive! Please Add Chinese Support!

*2025-05-24*

As a strategy game enthusiast, I must give Realpolitiks a well-deserved 5-star rating! The game brilliantly blends geopolitics, economic-military management, and diplomatic maneuvering. Every decision feels like orchestrating real-world power dynamics—whether handling sudden crises, crafting decade-long national strategies, signing pivotal treaties, or launching precision sanctions. The immersion of controlling a nation’s destiny is utterly captivating!

What truly amazed me is the dynamic event system and its realistic historical logic—refugee waves, energy crises, regime changes... Each event challenges players’ strategic foresight. I even used the game to simulate real-world geopolitical scenarios, only to discover how deeply the developers understand political mechanics!

My only regret is the lack of a Chinese localization. While playing in English is possible, constantly translating policy texts and event descriptions disrupts the flow of strategic planning. China has a massive community of players who adore deep strategy games—if the developers could add Chinese support, countless more players could fully appreciate this masterpiece! I sincerely urge the team to consider this thriving market, allowing Chinese-speaking players to seamlessly enjoy this intellectual battlefield!

### 5/5 — Decapitated before Blossom

*2025-04-05, version 1.6.4*

March 2025

Bring Realpolitiks 3 to iOS (skip Realpolitiks 2 - it’s not good from YouTube reviews)

RP3 seems to addresses some of the issues reported throughout the years.

Though, I’m a massive fan of RP1. I look forward to RP3

Juju please, get you a better publisher, fulcrum is doing a lousy job putting RP ip into the limelight.

Review Update - Feb 20, 2025

Still a fun and engaging game—especially given today’s political climate. It naturally draws more intention from the player, making you think just a little harder about your moves. Real-life politics aside…

Once you understand the mechanics, this game becomes incredibly rewarding.

Unfortunately, from what I’ve seen in YouTube videos, Part 2 shifts away from what made the original so compelling. That’s a shame, because the original design had something powerful—an elegant expression of ideas through its mechanics.

The designers and devs clearly had strong creative chemistry and a bold vision. You can feel it in how the systems interact and the choices you’re asked to make. It’s just unfortunate that the game never fully evolved into what it could have become.

✅ The battle mechanics - excellent! Just needed a bit more fine tuning

✅ Scenarios - again, just needed more, with different variations of outcomes regarding the modifiers, they get repetitive.

✅ Block Mechanics - I loved it, but we needed more ways to conduct diplomacy.. while still keeping it simple.

❌ Diplomacy – A Missed Opportunity (& idea Below)
The diplomacy system feels too barebones. There was real potential to expand it with lightweight, strategic depth—something like an engine-building card system but similar in UI to battle system in this game.

Imagine a setup inspired by games like Race for the Galaxy, Dominion, or Ascension, where diplomacy cards are added to your deck dynamically. These cards could be tied to your nation’s evolving conditions—Active Policies, Economy, GDP, HDI, Population size, even Civil Unrest. As these fluctuate, so does your available hand.

Cards might include actions like Trade Agreements, Tariff Wars, or Shared Research (which could speed up policies already in your queue). When you interact with other nations—each with their own decks—you’d play these cards in strategic exchanges, adding tension and a touch of card-battler flavor.

It would’ve been a simple yet elegant way to make diplomacy feel alive, responsive, and full of intentionality.

2022 Review:
TL,DR: This is a premium product - BUY IT!
Very Fun!

———
DETAILS:

Lots of great gameplay out there on YouTube. Channels:

• Many A True Nerd
• Drew Durnill

The reviews are there, same game for us iOS’ers. If you’re here, buy! This game worth the price. I am speaking to you grand strategy gamers.

Noobs, this game is noob friendly, however, you may want to make sure this is what you want, use internet for that and google the difference between: 4x & Grand Strategy Games.

This is a grand strategy game, and definitely on a lighter scale - while still carrying such beautiful grand strategy depth.

DEVS: Font is waaay to small. (Please fix)

Playing on iPad Pro 10.5 CHOOSING CONTINUE FOR A iCLOUD SAVED TUTORIAL: Loads take very long. Longer than normal.

PC PATCH: Do we have that recent August patch from PC?

BUGS IN TUTORIAL: I have no idea what to do here because instead of receiving directions in the mini pop up window, all I see is the following asset title I suppose: TUT_UNEMPL_P3_Mobile

Also in World after 2020, I picked America, the universal military project, when you choose projects in bottom screen light bulb, I’m getting: PROJECT_TUT_P1_Mobile (its on the first page of the pop up window) There is also one for damaging Ukraine’s Reputation (Love you Ukraine!)

As listed above, there’s a bunch of these text bugs, appearing inside some of the tech tree explanations or on their titles. So I have no idea, what is what. Dev, you will need to scour, it’s quite a few I’ve run across.

I had to go to YouTube and find someone playing the tutorial so I could proceed (because I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking for, due to the text typos)

GAME PDF MANUAL: You need it, look at your reddit. This game has such potential, show them how to play “with pictures and arrows pointing within the pictures” not just a block of text.

TUTORIAL NEEDS REFINEMENT: It’s a step in the right direction, but many deep in game concepts are missing, I’ve been using YouTube, but this should be in game - not require YouTube.

CONTROLLERS SUPPORT FROM SWITCH FOR IOS? I do connect my iPad to my TV and play many game that way. I’m pretty sure there are many others. Will you offer mfi/Bluetooth controller support?

MORE UNIQUE SCENARIOS? I will gladly pay for more content. You don’t have to go dirt cheap.

This is a premium product.

DEVS: You might want to (add some quality of life improvements with your DLC) making it worth the value proposition. Example, tweak some of the known bugs, fix some of the UI design.. etc. (of course within your budget)
