### 4/5 — Real riders will love REALRIDER!

*2025-08-24, version 7.0.4*

I’m impressed with REALRIDER’s ability to record my rides & to call Emergency Services if I come off the bike. If I’m OK I can cancel that call.

The peace of mind for myself and my family that if I were taken off my bike & I need Emergency Services knowing REALRIDER will make that call for me takes away a lot of stress & anxiety.

Being able to record a day’s ride & share it later with others is a good thing.

### 3/5 — Latest update makes great app unusable

*2025-08-16, version 7.0.3*

Sunny weekend out with the bike for a 200 mile fun ride. Own the app and it asks to approves critical SOS messaging. So off to settings - that setting missing so followed instructions delete and reinstall. Tried that twice. Tried again towards end of the ride 2 times again. Setting still not available so app currently useless.
Come on guys get it sorted out quickly.
At moment my subscription is money for nothing as app unusable. Sort of defeats the point of having it on a day like today with the usual experience of blind motorists and mad drivers encountered.

### 5/5 — Life saving?

*2023-06-17, version 5.4*

Well it could be if the worst were to befall you! I’ve used this app for a few years now for the peace of mind it gives when you’re riding solo, which is most of the time for me.

Can’t pretend to understand how it uses my phone’s gyroscopes etc., but I’ll accept it works. It’s like insurance; you hope you’ll never need it, but…

Often other apps are let down by lack of back office support. Not so REALRIDER, on the few occasions I have needed to contact them the authoritative response has been virtually by return! Top marks all round.

### 5/5 — Brilliant.

*2023-05-29, version 5.4*

I’m a Blood Bike Volunteer, and use this for my scheduled runs. Literally the first time I used it, I was in an accident. It rang emergency services, did exactly what it says it does.

An unexpected and welcome bonus, it made reporting the accident to insurance absolutely painless, as the ride data is incontrovertible.

I do not ride without it now.

### 4/5 — It’s getting there..

*2022-10-30, version 5.2*

Much better since recent update and customer service/replies to email are quick.

Yeah, it pushes it’s crash detection in your face a bit too much for those of us who don’t want to use the feature. Borders on annoying.

Needs navigation feature.

Careful saving your tracked routes. Lost a few in the clunky process of saving. Really needs a ‘save before exit’ warning so routes aren’t lost. My fault really, but app could be a bit more helpful here.

Options to change colour scheme? The green gets boring fast..

Good app overall.

### 5/5 — Reassuring

*2022-10-22, version 5.1*

I have had this app since the day it was released realising that, as a rider, and a Paramedic how useful it would be. Since it’s inception I have encouraged riders of all levels to install it and use it as it not only makes sense, but it works.
If (hopefully never) emergency assistance is required, this has your back, side, front and offers that reassurance. Go on, grab it

### 5/5 — Great app perfect for bikers

*2022-07-09, version 5.1*

Got this app after finally getting my motorcycle and it’s an amazing peace of mind app that allows you to track your routes and friends route. But the main bonus is the crash detection I myself haven’t and hope to never have to use this feature but it’s amazing to have there if the unexpected happens and it contact my local emergency services.

All I have to add is this app is missing two features I’d like to see. One being a navigation addition so you can use it for routes and it provide the directions like Google maps for example.

Second being the ability to add emergency contacts that also get pinged if you do have an accident, I’m aware the main reason for not having this is to avoid any unwanted worry for your loved ones for example but the ability to have it at your own choice to ping them would be amazing and helpful

Apart from those two things this app is great and if the app devs respond I’ll be excited to read the response

100% recommend though.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2022-06-16, version 5.0*

Superb app, easy to use with great support. I use it every time I ride and even on commutes, gives everyone that peace of mind. Brilliant job on the updates with group riding capabilities and the link to social media is effortless. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough!!

### 5/5 — Safety on a Smartphone

*2022-05-01*

I have been a user of Realrider almost since its inception. This App is almost 10 years in constant development with each update refined to make the available smartphone technology work for your safety. I believe its the only App that has been approved to link to Emergency Services directly with an automatic ability to send your location if all the algorithms determine you are incapacitated. There are a few apps out there that say they do the same thing except they contact your “Emergency List”. That requires your list of friends to respond on your behalf…”if” they see the Apps message. I believe Detecht is an SOS App, but only works with the Emergency Services in Sweden ONLY. “Realrider” however, is connected to Emergency Services in North America, UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. For us bikers that tour different countries throughout UK and Europe the seamless protection and direct communication with Emergency Services could be life saving. Lets face it, Emergency services would not integrate Apps into their systems if it did not meet stringent requirements including minimal false alarms. The fact that Realrider has managed this should speak volumes. The amount we spend on our bikes, fuel, clothing, protection the yearly subscription pales in comparison to the protection you hope to never need. Ps - One thing people, weirdly ask me alot… does it record speed…Realrider does NOT record your speed. Pss - yes I am a fan. Psss - support is fantastic.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate the support.

### 5/5 — Great App and customer service

*2022-04-28, version 5.0*

I’ve been using the App almost since it’s introduction and have nothing but praise for it. Their customer service is also without fault.

### 5/5 — Great price of mind.

*2022-04-27, version 5.0*

This is a great app. I use it whenever I am away on the bike. It adds another level of support while on the bike. Great for recording and sharing routes.

### 5/5 — Brilliant necessity for any rider

*2018-08-24, version 4.6*

I enjoy exploring new places and riding on my own. It’s nice to get away from everything and do solo riding. But at the same time that’s when you’re at your most vulnerable, because if you come off your bike there my be no-one around to help. So knowing that realrider is keeping an eye on my ride and will send out help if I ever get into difficulty is a great piece of mind.

### 5/5 — App, good... Support even better!

*2018-07-27, version 4.5.8*

This app is a great idea that just provides that extra little peace of mind particularly if you are riding alone. I have mainly used the Crash Protection feature rather than to track every ride but those that I have tracked have been pretty accurate. I would agree with the private/public comments some others have made as I’d rather it didn’t default to sharing my activity with the world! (There are options to make rides private and to offset start and end points which is good, but these should probably be the default behaviour!)

All that said, the main reason for me writing this review is to thank Andrew and the rest of the team for their excellent (and very speedy) customer service. When I had an issue with my subscription and lost access to the extra features, Andrew had me back up and running in no time. The service provided and the speed of the solution really makes you feel valued as a customer. Top work!!

### 5/5 — 5 star

*2018-05-26, version 4.5.3*

It’s easy to say you’ll be ok, it won’t happen to me. This is the safety blanket we all need! It’s peace of mind for our loved ones.
Great app and from working in the ambulance service I can say without fail that the need for an accurate location is imperative!
The faster we can find you the faster we can help!
Worth every penny.

### 5/5 — Great reassurance!

*2018-05-25, version 4.5.3*

What a brilliant concept and product this is. Knowing that should the unexpected happen, especially if you’re out on your own enjoying the bendy lanes or riding overnight like us blood bike volunteers, the emergency services will be sent your location information if you take a topple. Could turn out to be priceless, surely? Great for tracking and sharing routes with friends too. Download the app and start the 30 day FREE FRIAL to see what it’s all about.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t record my last 2 days of rides

*2025-09-30*

Reached out to customer service to see if they can find my rides. It’s only recorded one ride for 300 miles out of a 1200 mile ride. I’ll change my review if they can somehow find the rides. Highly frustrating to say the least.

### 1/5 — Safety for less than a coffee

*2025-07-11, version 7.0.0*

I don’t leave home now without starting the real rider app. It got bed my lived ones peace of mind if the worst happens that help will be on the way, without having to get them involved!

### 1/5 — Beware this does not work because I was in an accident

*2024-07-23*

This app does not work I was in an accident June 14. I was driving in my town was full service app open as I always ride. I was doing 60 miles an hour. Someone pulled out in front of me on my motorcycle completely blocking my lane. I hit the car and I flew about 125 feet through the air and landed on my head, this app absolutely nothing. It is a waste of money. If you can’t do an accident, you will have normal people calling the police for you but what if I was relying on this app and I was riding on the road where if I fell off the side of the road and I was paralyzed no one would know that I was in an accident. That’s what this app was supposed to be for do not waste your money you are better off having the brand new Apple Watch with an Apple phone and you will have crash detection. My act was extremely bad to the point where I don’t know how this app didn’t detect it. They completely ghosted me on email. and they actually charged me for another month. Kind of messed up.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review. I must refer to the email sent on 3rd July stating that the crash detection service was NOT running on the day of the crash. We have evidence in data logs to prove this. The app had been used once on sign up for a free trial a month prior to the crash. On the day in question, the app did NOT activate the crash detection service. Please remove your review as it is inaccurate.

I had a crash at 40mph & our technology activated. Luckily I didn’t need the emergency services & was able to cancel the alert. I would suggest that my impact was also vastly less severe than being thrown 125 feet before contact with the ground.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

### 1/5 — New app is broken.

*2022-06-05, version 5.0*

New app new bugs.

Profile section crashes. Doesn’t allow photo upload.

Searching the map and no results are ever returned.

Please do some QA before deploying to prod. I’d recommend following a TDD approach.

### 1/5 — Website suggests company no longer trading..

*2019-04-18, version 4.6.2*

As a keen biker this app caught my eye. Seems like a good idea. However, having researched the company on the web I’m not sure if they are still trading, so I won’t be buying...

### 1/5 — Problems

*2017-06-11, version 4.1.18*

I can't register I enter my details and it keeps coming up missing details crap crap crap

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2017-04-29, version 4.0.3*

A friend was enthusing about this app and it sounded like a really good idea so downloaded it just now, but although I have entered all the necessary information in my profile it will not let me save it as it's saying I still haven't entered them. So I can't go any further with it and it's completely useless. I can't even access any help screens.
Maybe I'll try again when the new version's released. Or maybe not.

### 1/5 — App is about 80 years old. Doesn't work either.

*2016-12-02, version 3.20.46*

Won't look like any other app on your phone as I think it's built for iPhone 4 and then stretched to fill the screen.

Poorly designed app which is difficult to use with utterly needless features for features sake. Seriously, go back to the bare minimum and once that's working well scale up after.

Activated the real rider subscription and it's impossible to activate the REALsafe function. Keeps asking me to add real safe info and freezes when I click to try add. Tried everything.

### 1/5 — iPhone 6s on iOS 10

*2016-09-15, version 3.3*

The app does not work at all on iPhone 6s iOS 10.

### 1/5 — Great idea, but flawed

*2016-08-20, version 3.3*

Fantastic concept but, given it won't let me save my personal details, it's rendered pretty much useless. You can't even enter the email field so it looks like this didn't even have rudimentary testing before being released. Shame. Get it working again devs as this is truly useful when working.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best version yet!

*2025-08-23, version 7.0.4*

I’ve been using this for a few years and the latest version is such a huge step forward. It’s faster and very stable. The big thing for me is that I used to close the app before I’d uploaded my routes after riding out and they would be lost whereas now when you reopen the app it saves any ridden but not yet uploaded routes which is brilliant. New design and look is very cool.

### 5/5 — Solo rider but never alone

*2025-08-16, version 7.0.3*

What an awesome addition for any and every rider, I’m always riding solo, but I never feel alone, the comfort of having the knowledge that if something happens, the services are going to be notified of my location and help is needed, and on the way. If help is activated and not needed it will give you the option to cancel the emergency call.
And I had a problem with an update on the app, and so needed help from management/ customer service and their response and actions to help sort it were absolutely outstanding

### 5/5 — Realrider

*2025-07-29, version 7.0.1*

I have been a user of Realrider for many years in fact, ever since its launch and have to say this is the perfect rider App for all motorcyclists.
This is super slick modern technology primarily keeping track of your safety but also, expanding and integrating your social interaction with the wider biking community.
Safety tracking, route recording, maps, communities the lot all in one single App.
Realrider is a must have for all bikers. Not only is this fantastic technology but the customer support is absolutely first class.

### 5/5 — Rider Review

*2025-07-11, version 7.0.0*

I have been a supporter of this App since its first appearance. I like the fact it’s user friendly, can record your rides - and even add photos.
The new Group Ride feature allows you to keep track of up to 12 riders in real time displayed on your phone.
I wouldn’t ride without it - it’s peace of mind that should the inevitable happen then help will be on the way.

### 5/5 — REALRIDER is it worth it.

*2025-07-11, version 7.0.0*

What can be said about REALRIDER, we’re to start.
So you plan the ride and get excited, then the time comes for the ride be it a long distance or a short run, the Mrs always gets the collie wobbles when your out on the bike what with the state of the roads or drivers these days.
Then you tell her I’ll use the REALRIDER app which ( let’s be honest does feel like having a guardian angel on your shoulder )
The apprehension subsides and you can just enjoy the ride knowing if anything was to happen at least you’ve done your best to help yourself. For me this makes it worth while and well done to all the magicians involved in making such a superb app.

Keep it rubber side down all

### 5/5 — 5 Star Customer Service

*2025-07-06, version 7.0.0*

Great app and amazing value. A must for bikers especially those who ride alone. What’s makes it even better is that it comes with UK based customer service being there for you in your moment of need.

### 5/5 — Why wouldn’t you ?

*2025-03-28, version 6.0.2*

The latest updates, make the app more refined. For the currently £3 per month, why wouldn’t you ? You spend more on a tank of petrol, coffee and a cake on a single ride out ! Many people ask, does it track your speed ? No it doesn’t. Other people say there are free crash detection apps out there including some modern smartphones - Yes there are, but those call or text a list of people pre-programmed AND it relies on those contacts having their phone with them…and not on silent. They maybe in the bathroom, sleeping … or alot of the times their phone is out of battery. It also relies on them relaying your correct location to the Emergency Services.

Realrider calls the Emergency Service direct with your precise location. Its there 24/7. Time matters. Its insurance. Most of the time you don’t need it (and therefore people feel they can do without), until you do.

Also support is great. If you have an issue with the App, support is never far away, unlike some Apps where good luck with getting any replies after you paid your monies.

I always use it when out and about - I would give Realrider a 10/10.

### 5/5 — Exceptional Customer Service

*2025-02-08, version 6.0.1*

I’m new to this app and had a problem logging in (user error). I contacted Real Rider via their support email address not expecting a response on a Saturday but within 5 minutes or so the issue was resolved.
If the customer service is an indication of overall service I have no doubt that this will be an invaluable tool.

### 5/5 — Best app for bikers

*2024-12-22, version 6.0.1*

I always use RealRider app when I’m out for a run on the bike. It’s reassuring to know that that if the unexpected happens the app will call for help. I’d recommend the app to everyone.

### 5/5 — Updated App

*2024-12-12, version 6.00*

Love the new look and feel!
