Recording audio is admittedly beta. Best free app of its kind, though. ### 4/5 — Great app, navigation needs improvement *2014-06-22, version 2.1.16* The content in this is great (southern Vietnamese!), but the navigation could be improved. Trying to review lessons is difficult. I still don't fully understand the stack editor, except for the fact that sometimes it's the only way to start learning a "stack" when the app's main interface is trying to start a different one. It has taught me some new words and I think that it is great that it teaches with pictures. Although, I have to say that a friend or two, whom I've showed it to, said that it was far too fast paced. So it's very useful to the person who already has some grasp of the Arabic language. ### 4/5 — Lots of potential *2013-03-12, version 2.1.0* Very reminiscent of Rosetta stone. While the interface is not quite as streamlined, and the activities could offer a little more variety, the method of teaching new vocabulary and sentence structure based on deductive reasoning rather than vocabulary lists and rote memorization is quickly proving to be the most effective, and least discouraging way to learn a language. My recommendation to the developers, make the fonts for the written words at the top larger, so that the word stands out. A little louder audio and try cleaning up some of the pictures to creat a more uniform look (some of the images were much higher resolution than others, some have watermarks where it appears they were copied from another source etc..) otherwise I like the app a lot and would recommend it to anyone trying to learn a language on their iPad ### 4/5 — Very nice *2013-02-26, version 2.0.16* Using app to learn Cantonese. Got all my apps transferred to the new phone automatically. I tried to use the app and it had all my paid purchased languages but all would error out saying it was corrupted and that I had to re- download. I tryed to re-download but I could not find d how. Selected every option on the app and nothing. Finally I decided to delete the app and re-install. Then I could see no languages available to f download including the ones that I had previously bought and paid for. I tried to restore purchase but nothing happens. I had German 1-5 Italian 1-5 and Spanish 1. Now all I can see is Spanish 1 which now seems to work. It's difficult to trial if it is not there. ### 1/5 — Ads in Main Menu & Price Increase *2012-12-04, version 2.0.14* I've spent a lot of money on this app, purchasing almost all of the Spanish lessons. For one, I'm not happy that there's ads in the app after I've bought in app purchases. Considering the developer raised the prices on the Spanish lessons from $0.99 a lesson to $2.99 and $3.99 a lesson, the ads should be GONE once a purchase is made. Until the ads are removed, this app gets a 1 star rating from me, no matter how great it is. ### 2/5 — Great Content Horrible Interface *2017-09-17, version 2.1.16* So I like the learning approach but it was so difficult to navigate this app. I gave up and deleted it. ### 3/5 — GOOD BUT, *2013-02-09, version 2.0.16* It was okay but some of the pictures are inappropriate and you might wanna change some of them. Just saying. Also adding cartoon images can be good for children. I bought the whole french pack and so far so good. Just please change those inappropriate images! ### 3/5 — Loved it then.... *2013-01-18, version 2.0.16* I bought this For my 9 yo dd who is studying German. We've both enjoyed it for various reasons. It provides good vocab practice and allows her to practice pronunciation in a fun way. Now, for my big concern and the reason she may not be allowed to play this again. In the first unit, there was a picture of a man in his underwear. It was very strange and not necessary but we endured and just laughed at it. She's now in level two and, the vocab words for magazine and book come up. The magazine has a woman ink a bikini drinking what is, no doubt, a mixed drink and the tattered book has a woman with the words "Bite Me." The title of the book is BOYS WHO BITE. Come on! Thankfully, my 9 yo turned it off and told me about it. There is no need to have such questionable things imbedded in the app. I've now paid $15 for an app that we may never use. ### 3/5 — Not a bad start *2011-11-08, version 1.0.0* Pros: Very similar to rosetta stone, but way cheaper. I like how the picture will randomly changes sometimes so you learn the language and not just the pictures. The interface is simple and intuitive. Cons: Only has one kind of exercise, which gets boring quickly. And it's also a little awkward to learn things like questions. Also noticed an error in Japanese module where the masculine/neutral form of "they" was used where the feminine form would have been more natural (a group of all women). It's a good app to start learning or to quiz your self.
