## Most critical reviews (4 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Dead app

*2020-08-28, version 1.1.11*

Downloaded and it dead. Can’t or doesn’t work at all. Should be removed from App Store.

**Developer response:** We apologize for your inconvenience and for not communicating very well that this is a professional app (for automotive and motorcycle) dealerships , not a consumer app.

### 1/5 — It doesn’t work!

*2020-08-27, version 1.1.11*

I don’t understand why create an app that nobody can sign into and go through all the trouble of trying to get a username and password but it doesn’t even allow you to do anything so why launch an app that doesn’t work??? What a waste of time

**Developer response:** We apologize for your inconvenience and for not communicating very well that this is a professional app (for automotive and motorcycle) dealerships , not a consumer app.

### 1/5 — No response from VIN that’s read

*2018-11-16, version 1.1.1*

You hit the search button and nothing happens

**Developer response:** We apologize for your inconvenience and for not communicating very well that this is a professional app (for automotive and motorcycle) dealerships , not a consumer app.

### 3/5 — How the heck does one get a user id for this app?

*2021-12-09, version 2.0.0*

Right, so, the app just plain misbehaves if you bypass the log in (why can it be bypassed if it is required)? Without logging in, nothing happens after entering a vin. There is no way to “sign up” within the app, weird, but OK. Reading the notes in the App Store, I see that I need to “contact autoap”. Ok, how? Nada on their web page (whisky linked), no snail mail address, phone number, nothing. Even the “app support link takes you to a web page where you cannot get app support. Good god, why go to all the effort to make an app that nobody can use?

Ok - the dev reaponded and said that this is an auto dealer only app. I see that there is now an indication of such in the description in the App Store.
Adding that to the splash/login panel in the app would avoid the confusion (and subsequent bad reviews).
I updated the review to 3 stars (assuming that the app works for dealers) out of fairness to the developers

**Developer response:** We apologize for your inconvenience and for not communicating very well that this is a professional app (for automotive and motorcycle) dealerships , not a consumer app.
